2 Day Physics Revision Plan
2 Day Physics Revision Plan
This 2-day study plan is designed to help you revise key topics for your IGCSE Physics exam.
The plan is focused on time management and maximizing understanding of core concepts.
1. Kinematics (1 hour):
- Review the 3 main equations of motion (v = u + at, s = ut + ½at², v² = u² + 2as).
- Focus on solving problems involving speed, velocity, displacement, and acceleration.
2. Forces and Newton’s Laws (1 hour):
- Understand the relationship between force, mass, and acceleration (F = ma).
- Study free-body diagrams, friction, and normal force.
3. Work, Energy, and Power (1 hour):
- Revise the concepts of work done, kinetic energy (½mv²), and potential energy (mgh).
- Understand the work-energy theorem and power (P = W/t).
4. Momentum and Collisions (1 hour):
- Learn the conservation of momentum and the difference between elastic and inelastic
collisions.
- Solve problems on momentum and impulse.
1. Waves (1 hour):
- Study the properties of waves (wavelength, frequency, amplitude).
- Focus on the difference between transverse and longitudinal waves.
- Review the basic concepts of light and sound waves.
2. Electricity (2 hours):
- Understand current, voltage, and resistance (Ohm’s law: V = IR).
- Revise series and parallel circuits.
- Study power and energy in circuits (P = IV and E = Pt).
- Work through practice questions related to circuits and electricity.
- Solve a variety of problems related to the topics covered in the day (kinematics, work
and energy, and circuits).
Day 2: Magnetism, Modern Physics, and Final Revision
Morning (4 hours): Magnetism and Thermal Physics
1. Magnetism (2 hours):
- Understand magnetic fields created by current-carrying conductors and permanent
magnets.
- Study electromagnetic induction (Faraday’s Law) and how generators work.
- Focus on applications of magnetism and electromagnetic waves.
2. Thermal Physics (2 hours):
- Review specific heat capacity and specific latent heat formulas.
- Study thermal expansion and its applications (e.g., in bridges, thermometers).
- Understand heat transfer methods: conduction, convection, and radiation.
