INSTRUCTIONS TO HS 1st YEAR STUDENTS FOR PREPARATION AND

SUBMISSION OF THE PROJECT REPORT

1. The students have to visit a business firm for collection of data. The business firm
is to be selected on the basis of their convenience.
2. Project Work should be submitted by the students in a file in a stapled booklet
form.
3. The project must be prepared by the students in own handwriting in A4 Size paper
(in single side) with proper margins.
4. Two copies of the project are to be prepared - i) Handwritten and ii) Photostat of
the hand written project report. Handwritten (original copy) of the Project Work
should be submitted to the Teacher Guide and the photostat copy of the same
should be retained by the students.
5. The pages should be arranged in the following order:
a. Cover Page
b. Acknowledgement
c. Certificate from the Guide
d. Certificate from the Principal
e. Declaration by the student
f. Contents/Index
g. Body/Main text of the Project

5. The prescribed format of Cover page, Certificate from Guide, Certificate from the
Principal and Declaration by the student are provided in the subsequent pages.

SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Introduction: The introduction part should be precise and be covered within one or two
pages. It should state the general introduction to the topic that has been covered in the
project.

2. Periodicity of the study: Period of study will be the time period taken for completing
the
project i.e. from starting the project work till its completion.

3. Place of study: Students should include the name of the place of study in his/her report.

4. Preparation of Report: The students are required to prepare a report, for example,
students may collect some cash transactions from the business for the month of
December, 2024 and prepare a Simple or Single Column Cash Book. The Cash Book
should have an opening and closing balance of cash.
The cash book should also contain any ten (10) of the following items:
a) Salary paid in cash
b) Rent paid in cash
c) Cash purchases
d) Cash sales
e) Cash received from debtors,
f) Cash payment to creditors
g) Deposit of cash into bank
h) Withdrawal of cash from bank for office use
i) Purchase of office stationery for cash
j) Interest received in cash
k) Purchase of asset in cash
l) Cash withdrawn for personal use
m) Commission received
n) Publicity expenses
o) Cash donated for charity

N.B. The closing balance should be on the credit side i.e. the total of the Debit side
should be more than the total of the Credit side before balancing the Cash Book.

Common Guidelines issued by AHSEC for preparation and submission of Project


works for the subject Accountancy (For H.S. First Year)

1. Students may be given project work individually or in a group depending


on the total number of students enrolled by the institution.

2. Field visit by the students should be at least for three (3) days.

3. External/Internal Examiner shall be appointed by the HOD of the


concerned department in consultation with the Head of the Institute.

4. The report must be precise, simple and authentic information collected


through field survey.

5. The report should include place, time and date of visit specifically.

6. The project should be completed at least one month prior to final examination.

7. Project must be in own handwriting in A4 size paper (in single side)

8. The concerned teacher must provide guidance to the students in selection


of project and its preparation.

9. The project report must be preserved properly by the institutions and


AHSEC authority may at any time ask the institutions to submit the report
to AHSEC office, if necessary.

10. Certificate from Guide (Format attached).

11. Certificate from Head of the Institution (Format attached).

12. Declaration by the student (Format attached).
