Google Advanced Data Analytics

Certificate overview
Hello, and welcome to the Google Advanced Data Analytics Certificate! The seven
courses in this certificate program will advance your knowledge and help you grow in your career as
a data analytics professional. A foundational background in data analytics is strongly encouraged.

Enter a growing field

Why are data analytics skills in such high demand? Companies report the largest skills gap in data
analytics, and the demand for data analytics skills is growing over 15 times faster than the demand
for the average skill in the US. As computing power has accelerated, industries have sought to
leverage the increasing amount of data available to them. Companies are incorporating data
analysis to better understand their customers and improve their products and services. Increasingly,
companies are employing data professionals to help guide future business decisions. As a result,
data professionals need the ability to better understand the challenges and possibilities of machine
learning, build accurate predictive models, and clearly articulate their findings.

Throughout this program, you will explore concepts and scenarios that will help you grow your
knowledge and skills as a data professional.

Frequently Asked Questions

On enrollment and the program
What are my enrollment options, and what does it mean to
audit a course?

The enrollment options article in the Learner Help Center explains the enrollment options, including
the differences between auditing a course and taking a course or specialization for a certificate.

How much does it cost to enroll?

Enrollment in courses that are part of a specialization requires a monthly subscription as payment
until you complete each of the courses. For paid learners in the US and Canada, the program cost
is $39 a month. For other countries, the cost varies; please refer to the course or specialization
landing pages in your Coursera account for details. Learners in India should purchase a Learning
Pass to access programs.

Learners auditing courses can access all of the content at no charge but will not be able to access
graded assessments or activities. They are also not eligible to earn the full certificate. For more
information, read this article about Payments and subscriptions or contact Coursera Learner Support
with further questions.

Can I use financial aid for this course?

You may be eligible for financial aid from Coursera through the course or specialization page.
Financial aid recipients will have full access to course content and assignments required to earn a
certificate. To find out more, click the Financial Aid Available link next to the Enroll button on the
specialization page. This article provides further details to help you: Apply for Financial Aid.

When can I enroll in the courses in this program, and how do

I start the next course?

You can find course start and enrollment options on the course landing pages linked below:

 Foundations of Data Science

 Get Started with Python
 Go Beyond the Numbers: Translate Data into Insights
 The Power of Statistics

I have a scholarship for the program, and I've completed a

course. How do I sign up for the next course?

If you are unable to sign up for your course using the course landing pages linked in the previous
question, please contact the organization you received a scholarship through to determine the next
steps or contact Coursera Learner Support.

I've signed up for the program through my company and completed a course.
How do I sign up for the next course?

You can learn more about How to Find Courses to Take Through your Company’s Learning Program
in this article. If you have specific questions about available courses, please contact your company
directly, as every organization sets up their available courses differently.

I do not see an option for this course in my language. Can I

request translation or support translating the course into my
language?

We appreciate your enthusiasm! These articles provide further details about Course Translations
and Video Translations. You can learn how you can support the translation of video subtitles by

On troubleshooting after enrollment

While using the discussion forums, how can I find my
previous posts?

Engaging with your fellow learners in the discussion forums will help you make the most of this
course! You can find your previous posts by navigating to the "Discussion Forums" area of the
course and by clicking "Your activity." You can receive email notifications for replies to your posts or
any posts you are interested in. Learn how to change your email settings for discussion forums in
this article. You can also simply click the + Follow this post option beneath the thread you
would like to receive notifications for.

How do I upload an assignment?

Please read this article to troubleshoot quizzes and assignments. Here you will find solutions to
common assignment uploading issues, and file requirements for uploading to Coursera.

How do I unlock a graded assignment or quiz?

Please read this article to troubleshoot quizzes and assignments. Here you will find explanations of
why an assignment may be locked or why you may be unable to submit an assignment.

I answered a quiz question where there were multiple

selections that applied but the ones I didn't select appear as
correct. How can that be?

When the feedback states “Un-selected is correct” or other similar wording, that means you were
correct in not selecting that answer, as that option was not one of the correct selections. A good
indication that you have the right response is that the feedback under a question appears in green
type.

How do I report an issue, an error, or feedback on items

within the course?
At the bottom of each item within the course, there is a thumbs up, a thumbs down, and a flag icon.
The thumbs up and thumbs down can be used to indicate how helpful or unhelpful you found the
content. The flag icon alerts us that there is something that needs a correction like a grammatical
error, misspelling, broken link, or other incorrect information.

I noticed that my course includes start and end dates that

do not match my subscription/payment dates. Are these
deadlines required?

The courses in this certificate program are designed to be taken at your own pace, and you can start
and finish each course at any time.

On Coursera, deadlines are set to help you stay on track and encourage you to finish content;
however, you do not need to submit and pass all assignments before the session end date. If you
don't finish, you can simply switch to the next session. The timeline to complete courses is ultimately
decided by you!
Steps to view and edit deadlines:

If you miss two assignment deadlines in a row or miss an assignment deadline by two weeks, there
will be a Reset deadlines option on the Grades page. Click it to switch to a new schedule for the
course with updated deadlines. You can use this option as many times as you need.

This won’t remove any progress you’ve already made in the course, but you may find new course
content if the instructor updated the course after you started. If you cancel a subscription and then
reactivate it, your deadlines will automatically reset. You can read more about this on Coursera's
Learner Help Center article about Assignment Deadlines.

On course completion and certificates

I've completed a course, specialization or professional
certificate; how will I get my certificate?
Course Certificates

Upon completion of each individual course, you will receive access to your course certificate. Visit
this article to learn more about Course Certificates.

Professional Certificates and Specialization Certificates

Upon completion of an entire certificate program or specialization, you will receive a professional
certificate. Visit this article to learn more about Professional Certificates and Specialization
Certificates.

How do I verify my name/ID?

In order to receive your certificate for completing a course or specialization, you must first verify your
identity. Most courses only need Name Verification, but some require ID verification. Typically, there
will be a box at the top of your Accomplishments page asking you to “Verify My Name” or “Verify my
ID” with a link. If this box is not there, you can follow the steps below to verify your ID for Coursera:

- Log in to your Coursera account.

- Click the drop-down menu next to your name in the top right and choose Settings. Or, go directly to
your settings page at: https://www.coursera.org/account-settings.

- Scroll to the “ID Verification” section.

- If you need to complete your ID Verification, you’ll see a Verify My ID button. If you don’t see that
button, you’re not in any courses that require ID verification.

- Click Verify My ID and follow the steps on screen.

If you are still facing any issues with verifying your name or ID, please reach out to Coursera Learner
Support.

You can find out more about verifying your name here and about verifying your ID here.

I’ve completed my certification; where can I find job and

career resources?

Congratulations on finishing the program! We recommend checking out the resources shared in the
end-of-certificate checklist in the final module of the last course. This checklist shares a link to the
Coursera Job Platform, available to all US-based learners, in which you can start browsing and
applying to local roles in your field. It also includes access to complimentary career resources such
as Big Interview and Career Circle. You will also receive a version of this checklist via email, as well
as ongoing resources and opportunities.

Then, you'll want to create a job board platform profile. That profile will be reviewed, and once
approved, you'll have access to the job board platform. We are working on creating a how-to video to
help you navigate the job board platform and will update here when it is ready.

We are still working on expanding our reach to international employers and hope to share more
updates about this soon.

Can I still access course content after completing a course?

Yes -- even after stopping payments, you will retain access to all of the content that you've
previously completed in a course, so that you can return to it and review lessons and submitted
work.

obtain the Google Advanced Data Analytics Certificate, you must complete all of the courses. This
reading describes what is required to obtain a certificate and best practices for you to have a good
learning experience on Coursera.

Obtain the Google Advanced Data Analytics

Certificate
To receive your official Google Advanced Data Analytics Certificate, you must:

 Pass all graded assignments in all 7 courses of the certificate program. Each graded
assignment is part of a cumulative graded score for the course, and the passing grade for
each course is 80%.
AND one of the following:

 Pay the course certificate fee,

 Be approved for Coursera Financial Aid, or

 Complete the certificate through an educational institution, employer, or agency that's

sponsoring your participation.

Healthy habits for course completion

Here is a list of best practices that will help you complete the courses in the program in a timely
manner:

 Plan your time: Setting regular study times and following them each week can help you
make learning a part of your routine. Use a calendar or timetable to create a schedule, and
list what you plan to do each day in order to set achievable goals. Find a space that allows
you to focus when you watch the videos, review the readings, and complete the activities.

 Work at your own pace: Everyone learns differently, so this program has been
designed to let you work at your own pace. Although your personalized deadlines start when
you enroll, feel free to progress through the program at the speed that works best for you.
There is no penalty for late assignments; to earn your certificate, all you have to do is
complete all of the work. You can extend your deadlines at any time by going to Overview
in the navigation panel and selecting Switch Sessions. If you have already missed
previous deadlines, select Reset my deadlines instead.

 Be curious: If you find an idea that gets you excited, act on it! Ask questions, search for
more details online, explore the links that interest you, and take notes on your discoveries.
The steps you take to support your learning along the way will advance your knowledge,
create more opportunities in this high-growth field, and help you qualify for jobs.

 Take notes: Notes will help you remember important information in the future, especially
as you’re preparing to enter a new job field. In addition, taking notes is an effective way to
make connections between topics and gain a better understanding of those topics.

 Review exemplars: Exemplars are completed assignments that fully meet an activity's
criteria. Many activities in this program have exemplars for you to compare to your own work.
Although there are often many ways to complete an assignment, exemplars offer you
guidance and inspiration about how to complete the activity.

 Chat (responsibly) with other learners: If you have a question, chances are,
you’re not alone. Use the discussion forums to ask for help from other learners taking this
program. You can also visit Coursera’s Global Online Community. Other important things to
know while learning with others can be found in the Coursera Honor Code and Code of
Conduct.

 Update your profile: Consider updating your profile on Coursera to include your photo,
career goals, and more. When other learners find you in the discussion forums, they can
click on your name to access your profile and get to know you better.
Documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and labs for
course activities
To complete certain activities in the program, you will need to use digital documents, spreadsheets,
presentations, and/or labs. Data analytics professionals use these software applications to
collaborate within their teams and organizations. If you need more information about using a
particular tool, refer to these resources:

Module, course, and certificate glossaries

This program covers a lot of terms and concepts, some of which you may already know and some of
which may be unfamiliar to you. To review terms and help you prepare for graded quizzes, refer to
the following glossaries:

 Module glossaries: At the end of each module’s content, you can review a glossary of
terms from that module. Each module’s glossary builds upon the terms from the previous
modules in that course. The module glossaries are not downloadable; however, all of the
terms and definitions are included in the course and certificate glossaries, which are
downloadable.

 Course glossaries: At the end of each course, you can access and download a glossary
that covers all of the terms in that course.

 Certificate glossary: The certificate glossary includes all of the terms in the entire
certificate program and is a helpful resource that you can reference throughout the program
or at any time in the future.

You can access and download the certificate glossaries and save them on your computer. You can
always find the course glossary using the course’s Resources tab. To access the Advanced Data
Analytics Certificate glossary, click the following link and select Use Template.

 Link to the glossary: Advanced Data Analytics Certificate glossary

If you completed the original Google Data Analytics Certificate, you may recognize some overlap
with several of the glossary terms in this program. Refer to the Data Analytics Certificate glossary,
linked in the Resources tab, to review these foundational terms and concepts. The definitions of
some terms in the Data Analytics Certificate glossary differ from the definitions of the same terms in
this program since the Advanced Data Analytics Certificate builds upon the concepts taught in the
previous program.

Course feedback
Providing feedback on videos, readings, and other materials is easy. With the resource open in your
browser, you can find the thumbs-up and thumbs-down symbols.

 Click thumbs-up for materials you find helpful.

 Click thumbs-down for materials that you do not find helpful.

If you want to flag a specific issue with an item, click the flag icon, select a category, and enter an
explanation in the text box. This feedback goes back to the course development team and isn’t
visible to other learners. All feedback received helps to create even better certificate programs in the
future.
