19. If one zero of the quadratic polynomial p(x)=x2+5x+k is – 3 then find the value of ‘k’.

Verify, whether – 4 and 2 are the zeroes of polynomial p(x) = x2 + 2x – 8 or not.
20. Find the nature of roots of quadratic equation 6x2 – x – 2 = 0.
21. Find the LCM and HCF of 8, 9 and 24.
22. In the ∆ABC, DE || BC, find the value of AC.

A vertical pole of height 6 m casts a shadow 4 m long on the ground, and at the same
time a tower on the same ground casts a shadow 28 m long. Find the height of the
tower.
23. Find the value of 2tan2450 + cos2300 – sin2600
24. If the point P(0, 1) is equidistant from the points A(5, -3) and B(x, -6) then find the
value of ‘x’.

25. Find the zeroes of polynomial x2 – 2x -8 and verify the relationship between sum and
product of Zeroes of a polynomial and coefficients.
26. If Seetha were younger by 5 year than what she really is, then the square of her age
(in years) would have been 11 more than 5 times her actual age. What is her present
age?

The sum of two numbers is 34. If 3 is subtracted from one number and 2 is added to
another, the prodcut of these two numbers becomes 260. Find the numbers.
27. An umbrella has 8 ribs which are equally spaced (see the figure). Assuming umbrella
to be a flat circle of radius 45cm, find the area between the two consecutive ribs of
the umbrella

28. Find the ratio at which the point P(-4, 6) divides the line segment joining the points
A(-6, 10) and B(3, -8)

34. Find the solution by graphical method x + y = 5; 2x + y = 8
35. Divide 56 in four parts which are in A.P. such that the ratio of the product of their
extremes (1st and 4th) to the product of means (2nd and 3rd) is 5 ∶ 6.
OR
Find the sum of first 𝑛 terms of an A.P. whose 𝑛th term is 5𝑛 − 1. Hence find the sum
of first 20 terms
36. There are two identical solid cubic boxes of edge 7 cm each, from the top face of the
first cube, a hemisphere of diameter equal to the edge of the cube is scooped out.
This hemisphere is inverted and placed on the top of the second cube’s surface to
form a dome. Find
i) Volume of first solid
ii) Surface area of second solid

37. Amit standing on a horizontal plane observes a bird flying at a distance of 200m from
him at an elevation of 300. Deepak standing on the roof of a 50m high building finds
the angle of elevation of the same bird to be 450. Amit and Deepak are on opposite
sides of the bird. Find the distance of the bird from Deepak and calculate the distance
between Amit and building.
