Dear Cambridge Families,

End of Term Progress and Attainment Report

We are pleased to share with you your child’s progress and attainment report for Term 2. This report
contains an attainment judgement, this is an indication of your child’s current performance against
the curriculum content taught so far this term. The judgements have been made using a combination
of summative assessment results and ongoing teacher assessment. Your child’s progress has been
measured from the start of year baseline.

Attainment is represented in terms of age-related expectations using the following terminology;

Below, Working Towards, Meeting, Exceeding. Please find the descriptors below:

● B - Below - The pupil is just starting to understand the subject

● WT - Working Towards - The pupil’s understanding of the subject is progressing towards age
related expectations
● M - Meeting - The pupil is secure in their knowledge of the subject and has met the age-related
expectation
● E - Exceeding - The pupil is able to actively apply their knowledge of the curriculum without the
need to be asked

Progress is represented in terms of how much progress your child has made from their starting point

CAT4 Results

CAT4 provides a rounded profile of student ability enabling teachers to target support, provide the
right level of challenge and make informed decisions about students’ progress and attainment
targets. If your child sat the Cognitive Ability Test (CAT4) you will receive your child’s mean
(average) SAS - standard age score and the individual SAS for each of the 4 CAT4 batteries.
The table below will help you to understand the score.

Very Low Below Average Average Above Average Very High

SAS less than 75 SAS 75 - 90 SAS 90 - 110 SAS 110 - 125 SAS 125+

If you wish further information about the 4 CAT4 batteries please watch this short video.

NGRT Results

If your child sat the New Group Reading Test (NGRT) you will be provided with a Standard Age
Score (SAS) and a Reading Age.

Very Low Below Average Average Above Average Very High

SAS less than 75 SAS 75 - 90 SAS 90 - 110 SAS 110 - 125 SAS 125+

The table above will help you to understand the SAS given. The reading age is a measure of a
child's reading ability when considered against the expectations for a child of their age.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support with your child’s learning so far
this year. We look forward to discussing your child’s progress and their report in detail with you at
the upcoming Parent/Teacher Consultation Day.

Yours Sincerely,

Ms. X Nazareth
