Exercise No 1 – 1 arrival joining downwind (IFR) and 1 circuit and landing (VFR)
No. of Aircraft : 2
Runway : 27
Method : • Aircraft will report passing 4000ft for 2500ft, estimate JK0110 and
having the airfield in sight request to join right hand downwind
RWY27.
• Issue instruction to the aircraft to join right hand downwind for
runway 27 and pass METAR.
• Request the aircraft to report JK, downwind, base and final.
• Before issuing landing clearance, scan the runway to ensure that
the runway is clear.
• Issue taxi instruction to parking bay.
• Pass landing time to Approach.
• Aircraft at V1 will start engine and request clearance for C&L
• Provide C&L ATC clearance to aircraft including transponder and
aerodrome information.
• Issue taxiing instruction, line-up and clearance for take-off.
• Advise Approach unit when circuit is active.
• At final give the touch and go clearance

Exercise No : 2-1 arrival making straight-in-approach (IFR) and 1 circuit and landing (VFR)

Method : • Aircraft will report passing 4000ft for 2500ft, estimate JK0210 and having
the airfield in sight request to make straight-in-approach RWY09.
• Issue instruction to the aircraft to make straight-in-approach and pass
METAR.
• Ask the aircraft to report final.
• Before issuing landing clearance, scan the runway to
• ensure that the runway is clear.
• Issue taxi instruction to parking bay.
• Pass landing time to Approach.
• Aircraft at V1 will start engine and request clearance for C&L
• Provide C&L ATC clearance to aircraft including transponder and
aerodrome information.
• Issue taxiing instruction, line-up and clearance for take-off.
• Advise Approach unit when circuit is active.
• At final give the touch and go clearance

Method : • Aircraft will report maintaining 2500ft, estimate Bagan 0410 and
on passing Bagan report visual with the airfield and request to join
left hand downwind RWY09.
• Issue instruction to the aircraft to descent 1500FT and to be
maintain by Bagan and pass METAR.
• Ask aircraft to report left hand downwind, base and final RWY09
or to join left base.
• Before issuing landing clearance, scan the runway to ensure that
the runway is clear.
• Issue taxi instruction to parking bay.
• Aircraft at V1 will start engine and request clearance for C&L
• Provide C&L ATC clearance to aircraft including transponder and
aerodrome information.
• Issue taxiing instruction, line-up and clearance for take-off.
• Advise Approach unit when circuit is active
• At final give the touch and go clearance

Method : • 9MPIH at the light aircraft parking area will request taxi
clearance at 0700 for circuit and landing.
• Taxi 9MPIH to the taxiway intersection for intersection take-
off R27.
• Inform Approach circuit is active when 9MPIH airborne.
• 9MTSL on initial contact shall descent to 1500ft and
maintain by Port Well. On passing P/Well 9MTSL shall
report visual and requesting further clearance.
• Pass traffic. Information of 9MPIH to 9MTSL for sequencing
and aircraft must report traffic insight before Taipan to
position no. 2.If no sighting hold 9MTSL North-West of
Taipan.
• RBA872 will request pushback and start-up at 0704.
• When RBA872 is ready for take-off, applied conditional line-
up. Coordinate with Approach for departure clearance.
• Apply wake turbulence separation.
• Pass departure time to Approach.

Method : • 9MIKE at the light aircraft parking area will request taxi
clearance at 1000 for circuits and landings.
• Taxi 9MIKE to the taxiway intersection for intersection take-
off.
• Inform Approach circuit is active when 9MIKE airborne.
• 1005 9MJPC request clearance to Melaka and call MAvA
Info for clearance.
• 9MJPC will also take-off from the taxiway intersection.
• Pass traffic. Info. of 9MIKE to 9MJPC.
• Approach to pass estimate time of MAS788 and will advise
Tower when aircraft is visual and request for further
instruction.
• Sequence traffic between MAS788 and circuit traffic.
• Apply early left turn to VFR traffic if required.
• Pass arrival time to Approach.

Method : • 9MRSC and POL 11K, both at the light aircraft parking area
will request clearance at time 1100 for circuits and landings.
• Keep both aircraft continuously in sight. Use options e.g.
early left turn, short approach and extend downwind to
achieve the required separation.
• If necessary, use the phrase “Keep Preceding Traffic
Insight”
• CPA 721 and MXD316 will request push back at the same
time 1105 and you have to look at the apron and give
appropriate instructions to the aircraft.
• Request ATC clearance from Area Control for both the
aircraft and departure clearance from Approach Control.
Applied the step climb procedure for both aircraft.
• Transfer both aircraft to Approach vertically separated when
applying step climb.
• Pass departure time to Approach.

• Apply all methods to achieve a safe, orderly and expeditious
flow of traffic.
• You may use the dead side circuit of the airfield but do not
hold the aircraft on dead side circuit.
• You may air taxi or ground taxi helicopter to holding point.
• Ensure that no aircraft is cleared for approach when
helicopter crosses the active to the ship.
• 9MBBE to report one minute before landing ship.
