Sub: Report regarding issuing Fitness certificate for road for bus service

Site inspected. From preliminary inspection, the following details were observed.

• The said road starts at Vattakkaavu Junction.


• At the starting, the road has intermediate patchworks done. Between chainages 0+100 & 0+200,
potholes are seen.
• At 0+300, a by road is starting at RHS.
• The road passes through rubber plantation.
• To facilitate cross drainage of storm water runoff from adjacent land, a BT dip is provided at
0+400 & interlock dips are provided at 0+900, 1+300, 1+350, 1+600, 1+720, 1+800 & 1+900 .
They are all in good and working condition.
• No cautionary boards are seen at curves,by roads & dips.
• No mandatory speed limiting boards are provided along the road
• Road is damaged and potholes are seen at chainages 0+700, 1+400, 1+700. From Chainage
0+980, on the LHS, shoulder has been excavated for laying pipes of Jal Jeevan Mission and
refilled.
• After the excavation, boulders of considerable size has been left on the LHS shoulder which
poses risk to the traffic on the road.
• The road ends at Vellanaadi Hospital junction and has a total length of 2 kms.
• The average carriageway width is 3.75 metres.
