instructs them what to do. He also does not listen to any of the suggestions given by the
subordinates.

2. Marketing manager of 'Guru Kripa Ltd.' has set sales targets of his Sales Executives. But he
did not give them the authority to grant rebate and credit facility to the customers, which
are so essential on various occasions. Consequently, sales executives failed to achieve
their targets.
(a) Identify the principle of management ignored in this case.
(b) Also explain the principle identified in (a).

3. Manager of "Sargodha Ltd." has enforced the following concepts of management in his
company.
(a) Identify the same:
(i) To find out the best method of doing work.
(ii) Creating the spirit of cooperation in place of competition between managers and
workers.

report to whom. This makes it clear who is superior/senior and who is subordinate.

Production Manager in "Paras Limited". He has planned to accomplish successfully all the
functions of his department. Big tasks were divided into small activities. Competent
persons were appointed to carry out each small activity. Mr Parik also guided his
subordinates from time to time. Despite doing all this, his department did not reach the
expected level of performance. He was worried about the performance of his
department. After due consideration he concluded that it was all because of his own
shortcoming. He never bothered to ensure whether the work was being done according
to his plans. This negligence on his part, put the company in a difficult situation.
(a) Study the above mentioned case and identify which function of the
management has been neglected?
(b) Explain any two importance of identified function of management in (a).

9. Mr. Rajiv is the owner of readymade garment factory. His main motive is maximising the
profit.
For this he is charging high price from customer and supply low quality products. He is not
providing good working conditions to workers and pay them minimum wages. Even he did
not bother about the pollution caused by his factory. As a result his efficient employees
started leaving the job and joining the competitor. The government puts a heavy penalty
on him for causing pollution and even number of customers also decrease. He was very
upset and could not understand his problem.

10 Company X is facing a lot of problems these days. It manufactures white goods like

margins are under pressure and the profits and market share are declining. The
production department blames marketing for not meeting sales targets and marketing
