Day 1: Introduction to Animal Sciences and Overview of Livestock

Objective:

 Students will define animal science and identify the significance of livestock in
agriculture.
 Students will classify animals based on their uses (e.g., dairy, meat, fiber).

Content:

 Definition of Animal Science: Study of animals under human care, focusing on their
production, care, and uses.
 Types of Livestock:
o Cattle: Dairy (milk production) and beef (meat production).
o Pigs: Pork production.
o Goats and Sheep: Milk, meat, and wool production.

Activities:

1. Class Discussion: Explore the importance of animal science and the role of livestock in
