HOW TO GET YOUR PLAYER LOG Ifone of our games crashes or has a significant bug, providing the player log is one of the most helpful actions you can take in helping us narrow down the source of the problem. These instructions will illustrate how to find your player log file in Windows. STEP 1: NAVIGATING TO THE GAME FOLDER THE FAST WAY ‘Open Windows Explorer and paste in the following path: C:\Users\ [YOUR_USER_NAME] \AppData\LocalLow\Halberd Studios\ But substitute [YOUR_USER_NAME] with your user name on that Windows PC. This should give you a result similar to this: If this works and you are able to see a folder with Halberd Studios games listed, then move on to Step 2. Otherwise you may try the slow way. i HALBERD THE SLOW WAY Open Windows Explorer: b- &- F- am - EOU You will probably see “Quick Access” or ‘This PC’ at the top in the navigation bar. Copy and paste the following into that location: appdata’ And then hit Enter. You should get a view something like this: ee We are in one of the AppData subfolders but not the right one, so press the Up Arrow icon (circled in green in the image below) to move up one directory: me ° 5 QE te» 0» e+ OA ty» =e sion ro a 2 HALBERD You should now see the App Data directory and its contents: Double click on “LocalLow’. = Then locate and double click on the folder titled "Halberd Studios’. After this you should be ready for step 2. STEP 2: FINDING THE REQUIRED FILES This step is simple. Pick the game you want to find the player log for. In this example we will assume it is 9 Years of Shadows, so we will begin by double clicking on the folder: 2 HALBERD When in doubt, you can just email us every single file in this directory (including the contents of SaveData). There is nothing wrong with copying all of these files to a zip and sending it to us, Specifically, “Player.log” is the file we are looking for. Your PC may be configured to hide file extensions, so the file may be named simply “Player”. Player.iog is the record of errors and debug messages for your most recent (or current) play session, Player-prev.log is the log for the session that came before it. If you have had multiple crashes or other major bugs it can be a good idea to send us both logs, as we will get more data this way. If there is a problem with Save Data or game settings, sending us the contents of the Save Data folder will be very helpful. You can open that folder and send us all of the files, or, if we've gotten to this point, you can just consider adding a copy of every file in the game direc- tory toa zip and emailing it to us for analysis. 2 HALBERD
