1. IN-BETWEEN ARTIST
• The artist who makes the
characters move by drawing
the picture in between the
various scenes, giving the
characters the look
movement.
2. CHARACTER RIGGER
• The process of creating
conditions for skeletal
character movement in
animation. Also known as
skeletal animation.
3. RENDER-WRANGLER
• They are also called “technical resource
administrators” or “TRAs”. Their task is to
monitor and control the rendering process
for a few computers or an entire render farm
consisting of hundred machines.
• They monitor the computers to ensure
(input/output) of data across various file
systems and initiate data moves to allocate
disk space.
4. STOP MOTION ANIMATOR
• They creates a series of pictures
that depicts an object in various
positions. By running together
these pictures together you a
create a sense that the object
moves from one position to the
next on its own.
5. BACKGROUND PAINTER
• Also called as “Matte Painter”. They are
responsible for creating backgrounds for
animated and live-action films. They may
create an entire matte-painting, such as
village or skyline, where animation or live
action occurs in only few spots
• May draw, paint or create backgrounds
manually or by computer or both for
animated and live action productions.
6. LIGHTING TECHNICIAN
• They work with the lighting
department to create color keys,
compositing renderings and light rigs
for shots.
• They use design skills and
knowledge of shadows and lighting
to create the environments and
characters that the project calls for.
7. COLOR KEY ARTIST
• They create background paintings and
color keys that lighting, materials, and
production team use for animated
features, television series and animated
shorts.
• They have a sharp eye for color along
with advanced software skills. They may
use program such as Adobe Illustrator
and Photoshop for color styling.
8. STORYBOARD ARTIST

• Also known as a story artist


or visualizer. A person who
can take a script or even just
a concept, and turn those
words into a visual story.
9. CONCEPT ARTIST
• A designer who visualizes &
creates art for characters, creatures,
vehicles, environments and other
creative assets. It is used to visualize
ideas so that modelers, animators
and VFX teams can make these
ideas ready for production.
