SPEECH CHOIR COMPETITION

(Criteria for Judging)

MECHANICS
1. There shall be one (1) contest piece in all grade level of Junior High School;
2. The duration of the performance will only exceed of a minimum of 5 minutes and maximum of 10 minutes including entrance and exits;
3. Members of the choir are allowed to wear and use costumes, props, whatsoever appropriate to improve the choral interpretation of the piece;
4. Chanting and humming of the contest piece is allowed however the use of canned music and percussion instruments are not permitted;
5. Use of pyrotechnics and dangerous stunts is strictly prohibited;
6. The board of judges reserves the right to discontinue presentations whenever posing danger or risks to the members of the team, the judges, and the audience; and
7. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.

Interpretation (choreography, transition and concept) 30%
Delivery (quality of voice, fluency, pronunciation, blending & harmony) 40%
Stage Presence (stage poise, eye contact & audience impact) 20%
Costume , Props & Sound Effects (attire , chant and props ) 10%
TOTAL 100%
