 Select a quan fiable measure. The metric should be measurable, relevant to the goal, and
provide a clear picture of progress. Consider factors like data availability and ease of
calcula on.

Step 5: Set SMART Targets:

 Establish achievable benchmarks. Define Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and

Time-bound targets for your KPI. These targets should be challenging yet a ainable to
mo vate improvement.

Step 6: Determine Data Source and Collec on Method:

 Iden fy where the data lives. Pinpoint the internal or external source where the data for
your KPI resides. Determine the most efficient method for collec ng and tracking the data.

Step 7: Establish Repor ng Frequency:

 How o en will you measure? Decide how frequently you will track and report on your KPI.
This could be daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly depending on the nature of the KPI.

Step 8: Document and Communicate:

 Clarity is key. Document your KPI clearly, outlining its purpose, calcula on method, target,
and data source. Effec vely communicate the KPI to relevant stakeholders to ensure
understanding and buy-in.

established targets. Analyze trends and iden fy areas for improvement. Be prepared to
adjust the KPI or its target if necessary to ensure ongoing relevance.
