MATH PROJECT- Semester 1

GRADE:3 Date:18th sept,2023


TITLE: PLACE VALUE Marks: 10

Working Model of Place value -Expanded Form

Materials Required: Foam Board, four different colour chart paper,


Scissors, Glue, crayons Board Markers, ruler, colour paper.
Aim of this project
To make a working model of Place value chart to help the students
understand the concept of place values.

What is Place Value??

Steps Involved:
• Take colorful sheets of paper and draw 4 rectangles 20 cm
long and 3 cm wide.
• Carefully cut along the line with the help of a pair of scissors.

• Take a white sheet of paper and draw small squares to write


numbers on them.
• Carefully cut out squares with the help of a pair of scissors.

• With the help of a black marker,write the numbers froms 0- 9 as shown.

• With the help of glue paste the numbers 0-9 on green strips as shown.

• Take red color sheet of paper and draw 4 traingles.


• Carefully cut along traingles with the help of a pair of
scissors.

• With the help of glue paste the triangles on top of green strips
as shown here.
• Next, write the places ( O,T,H) on the top of each column.

• Take a Blue sheet of paper and draw 4 Rectangles of width 7


cm and length 10 cm each.

• Carefully cut out the rectangles with the help of a pair of


scissors.
• Now fold the blue rectangle into three parts as shown here.

• Place the green column in center, it should be in between the


folds.

• Next, fold and paste with the help of glue.


• Fold and paste all four place value windows and write the
name on top of each.

• Take A3 size foam board or cardboard and paste a yellow


chart paper on it .

• Paste the windows on it and then insert the green columns


through it.
• Choose any number of your choice and your place value chart
is ready to display.
• Write the name of the student, class, and section below on the
left-hand side corner.

Rubrics: (10 points)


Titles as per place value chart: 2 points
Labelling: 0.5 point/each place value (2 points)
Name: 1 points
Creativity: 2 points
Neatness: 1 point
Submission on time: 2 points
Total: 10 points
