INITIAL REPORT
COGON POLICE STATION 2. APRIL 24,2024 ( 6:00 PM)

The following is the statement of Patrolman King Francis Racines age 25, residing CDO with reference to the investigation of the rape of
Jana Beltran age 15, single address Patrick Cronin,Camaman Cgayan de Oro City.
I am duly appointed member of Cogon Police Station 2 at Camaman-an, MisamisOriental Police Department and am assigned to regular
duty.

On or about afternoon of April 24, 2024 a cellphone call was received by the Police station from a citizen of Patrick Cronin, Camaman-an
Cagayan de Oro City and reported a rape incident transpired. Upon receipt of the report, the investigation team led by Arjone Norel
proceeded to and upon arrival there, the team saw the victim unconcious and identified as Jana Beltran,15 years old, a student and
resident of Patrick Cronin,Camaman-an Cagayan de Oro City. The suspect was identified as Mercy R. Ratunil, 50 years old, a habal- habal
driver of Patrick Cronin Camaman-an Cagayan de Oro City. Initial Investigation disclosed that Jana Beltran went home at 4:00 pm from
school while the suspect was with his friends having fun and drinking together outside a sari-sari store, while Jana Beltranpassed by. A
minutes after, a man named Keay Jay Caballa went to store and bought a water and overheard the topic of the suspect and his friends
talking about a girl.Moreover, at 4:30 the circle of friends parted ways, the two went home while the suspect went somewhere else. On
the other hand, from the statement of the witnessednamed Mc Donnel Madriaga, 35 years old, who called the station states that while he
was walking on his way home at 5:30 pm he overheard something on the dense area covered with banana trees, thus he rushed to check
the area. What he saw was the ruthless sexual force (rape) of the suspect to the innocent girl. The concerned citizen could not stand to
watch as the suspect ruthlessly harassing the girl and as he attempt to kill the victim the witness attempt to go near and tried to stop the
suspect, the suspect overheard the step of the witness so the attempt to kill the victim was not successful so rushes to escape. As the
witness check, the victim was alive yet unconscious so he directly asked for assistance/help. Thus, the motive behind the incident was
rape, due to resistance the victim acquired bruised on her hands and minor scratches. The team together with Madriaga in coordination
with the brgy.officials found the suspect in his residence and arrested him.

1.In crime scene processing it is very recommended that


the investigation team be ready for any changes in the
crime scene investigation.
2. Each member of the investigation team knows their
individual task to successfully solve the case.
3. In conducting an investigation or at a crime scene
processing it is important to have complete materials and
equipment to avoid any delay.
CONCLUSIONS

As a conclusion, in a crime scene investigation and photography it is very


important as it supply bits and pieces of evidence at the exact location
where the crime has occurred. It also provides portable documents and
record the physical evidences present in the original scene and related
areas. In addition to, it established the reconstruction (what happened)
in the crime scene and helps identify the person responsible for the
commission of an offense. On top of that, by conducting this systematic
examination and process we were able to define and secure areas that
contain the evidences and related facts of the case. The more thorough
the crime scene team towards conducting the process and photography,
the more they can come to a conclusion regarding to the guilt and
innocence.
