Manual to Live Proctored CUCAT

Instructions: Please read this guide carefully before appearing for the test.

CUCAT will be conducted with mandatory live video stream option under the supervision of vigilant invigilators. It
is imperative to have good internet connectivity with minimum 2MBPS bandwidth and a laptop /PC with working
mic and webcam so that video streaming is smooth, else this test won’t start.

Please ensure the compliance to the following to appear for the test:

System specifications for Student

1. Student OS specs:
a. Windows: 10, 8. Windows 10S is not a compatible operating system. Includes x86 32 and
64bit processors and ARM 64bit processors using x86emulation
b. Mac: macOS 10.12 to 10.15
c. Not supported on Linux
2. Student device Memory specs:
a. Windows: 2 GB RAM
b. Mac: 2 GB RAM
3. Student device Hard Disk Space :
a. Windows: 200 MB of free hard disk space
b. Mac: 200 MB of free hard disk space
c. Safe Brower ( Step to install are mentioned)
4. No proxy settings are available inside the browser
5. Not supported on mobile

Steps for Student to install lockdown browser:


1. Lockdown browser exe file downloadable links are included in the email sent by DCPD.

2. Student downloads the exe files from the links in the email and installs the software on their respective
systems.
3. Students receive the email invite with the test link only on their cuchd email and also on their UIMS.
4. On clicking the link, they land on the amcat test page that has 2 options:
a. Launch the test: If the browser file is installed on the student’s system, he/she clicks on this
button. Clicking here will launch the test in the lockdown browser window

b. Download the browser: If the student has not downloaded/installed the file, they can download
and install it on their systems by clicking on this button

5. The student should close all extra applications and programs before launching the test. They’ll be
asked to close any running application that may allow screensharing
6. The student can close the lockdown browser at any given point of time in the test. The student will be
logged out and it will be counted as a resume count(if this proctoring feature is switched on)
7. The student will not be allowed to mirror their screens using a hardware connection(like an HDMI) or
any screensharing software

A. Important Guidelines:

• Complete the test in one go as no breaks are allowed in-between.


• Keep a track of time as the test is timed and will be auto-submitted after the completion of the time.
• Mandatorily answer all the questions while completing all the modules.
• Skip the question if you unsure about the answer and mark it for review to have a look on that question at
later stage.
• If somehow the test is stopped in between, (due to power failure or internet disconnection) wait for five
minutes and re-login using the same details. After entering the username and password, click on ‘Resume
Incomplete Test’, select your test Id and then re-enter Username and Password.
• Ensure that you resume Test within 2 hours of your test being stopped,
• Ensure that you are not wearing any headphones, earphones, etc.
• Do not cover your face during the test.
• Ensure that no one else is sitting with you during the entire duration of the test.

B. Procedure:

• Enter the username and password shared via auto-generated email sent by SHL.
• Next, click on ‘Start New Test’ and note your Test Id as mentioned on the top right corner of the screen.
• Give permission to access your camera through the automatically generated pop-up.
• Once you ACCEPT the request, there will be a pop-up message ‘You are Under Surveillance' which confirms
that camera is now enabled.
• To answer a question, click on Confirm and then Next to submit your answer.
• Do not click on Module Exit or Test Exit.

Note- No student will be allowed to login to the test after 15 minutes after the start of the scheduled timeof the test. In
such a case, the student will be marked absent.

There may be instances when the test is auto-submitted or gets locked. The reasons for the same are outlined below:

• Forced switching through tabs which leads to locking of the test and test cannot be resumed again.
• Taking screenshots of the test.
• Pop-ups during the test.
• Not sitting in front of your computer during entire duration of the test.

Note- It is mandatory for a student to be in front of the camera for the entire duration of the test, else the test will be
ENDED by CU invigilators IMMEDIATELY.

Other reasons which will attract IMMEDIATE END of the test by CU invigilators are-

• If a student tries to cover his/her camera or a disturbance is witnessed in the camera during the test.
• If a student is involved in any unethical activity related to the test or is found cheating by any means.
• In case of cheating or absenteeism, student will be debarred from TPP and will not be allowed tosit for
ANY placement drives.

Some of the actions which will be counted under cheating are listed below-
• Using mobile phones during the test.
• Moving away from the camera
• Not sitting in the centre of the screen
• Taking screenshots of the test via any means such as screen mirroring, through cell phones, etc.
• Talking with someone during the test
• Wearing earphones
• Some other person walking behind the student
• Some other person looking at the screen
• Use of calculators
• Wearing masks or covering face with any piece of cloth
• Looking here and there during the test
• Presence of people other than the test taker in the test area
