What can you say about these things?
(Answers may vary)
2. Activity 1. Group pupils into 4.
2. Setting –up standards.
3. Activity proper

Activity: Reaction of Light

I. Problem: How does light react?
II. Materials: flashlight, plastic cover, empty glass, eyeglass,
plastic cup, cloth, tissue, leaf, paper
III. Procedure:
1. Cover the flashlight head with material assigned in your group
and hold it.
2. Turn on the flashlight.
3. Point it into the wall and focus on it and describe what happen
to the light. Write your observations based on the questions on
the table below.

IV. Observation

(Each group will be provided of one transparent material and

non-transparent material)
(Attachment A)
3. Analysis A. Group reporting and presentation of outputs.
B. Answering the questions in the table.
(Answers may vary)
Let them guess which material that they used in the activity is
transparent and not.
From the activity, do you have any idea of what transparent
materials are?

4. Abstraction

CATHERINE Q. GOMEZ
Siaton District 4
Transparent materials transmit light easily or allows light to
pass through with little or no disturbance because of its smooth
and clear surface. The light completely passes through it without
getting scattered. If you are able to see clearly through an
object, it is allowing light to pass through it and that material is
transparent.

Here are some examples of Transparent Materials

5. Application Direction: Write TRUE on the space provided if the statement is

correct. Write FALSE if it is not
Prepared by: LUCE ANN MARIE Q. QUINOL
CATHERINE Q. GOMEZ

__________1. Transparent materials are a material which allows
light to completely pass through.
__________2. Tinted glass is an example of transparent
materials.
__________3. Light travels smoothly in transparent materials.
__________4. The example of transparent materials are those
materials that allows all some light to pass through
__________5. It’s possible to see clearly through transparent
materials.
(Attachment B)
6. Practical Applications of What are the importance of transparent materials in our
Concepts and Skills in everyday living?
Daily Living (Answers may vary)
Cite an example of transparent materials at home or can
be seen anywhere.
From the examples mentioned, what is the most important
transparent material that we need to be taken cared of?
Why?
(Answers may vary)
What is transparent materials?
-Materials that allow light to completely pass through it without
getting scattered
7. Generalization
How does light reflect in transparent materials?
-By a smooth surface and the light rays travel in the same
direction.
8. Evaluation Direction: From the objects below. Write TM if the object is
transparent material and N if it is not. Write your answer in the
space provided.
(Please see Attachment C)
9. Additional activities for
application or Give at least 5 example of Transparent Materials that can be
remediation seen at home.
