Practical tips and strategies
To start with the most important thing, I would like to assure you that improving
your handwriting does not require talent, just practice:
Observe your handwriting closely: become aware of how you write certain letters.
Fill a page with your handwriting and identify common patterns. This is the first
step in making targeted improvements.
Consciously write more slowly: This will improve your control over your
handwriting. Over time, you will be able to write legibly faster.
Pay attention to your pen grip: To avoid pain in your forearm, your grip should
be firm but not tense.
Find the right paper for you: whether lined, squared or blank - discover what
works best for you. One trick for blank paper is to place a lined sheet underneath
to write straight.
Practice writing smaller: This can help refine your handwriting.
Experiment with different pens: Find out which pens are most comfortable in
your hand.
Place a thick pad under the paper: This provides better support when writing.
Write between the lines: This will make your handwriting look cleaner and more
aesthetically pleasing.
Keep a practice diary: Record your progress to see your development and stay
motivated.
Practice through creativity: Strengthen your training by coloring mandalas or
drawing circles and straight lines to train your hand muscles.
Focus on improving specific letters or aspects of your handwriting each week.
This will help you to recognize small successes and not overwhelm yourself.
Remember: The more you practice, the better. Dedicate half an hour a day to
practicing. The more time and effort you invest, the faster you will see progress.
Understand that improving your handwriting takes time - give yourself the time and
patience you need.
My Essentials
The fountain pen is my preferred writing instrument as it offers a smooth and pleasant
writing experience. For fast writing, however, I tend to use a gel pen.
Gel Pen
I prefer writing on lined paper, but I make sure that the line spacing is very small.
To prevent pain in the hand during long periods of writing, I recommend doing small hand
exercises before writing or regularly. Here are some exercises that help me personally:
