Reporter 01 (Zarene): “Thank you, [Karynne]. I'm here in [Burdeos, Polillo Islands, in Quezon
Province], where Typhoon [Noru] has just made landfall. The winds have picked up significantly,
reaching speeds of up to [185–195 km/h], causing widespread damage. Trees have been
uprooted, power lines are down, and the streets are flooded in many areas. The situation is
extremely dangerous, and local authorities have begun implementing evacuation orders in
high-risk zones.
“As of now, [911,404 ] of families in [Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Metro Manila, and Ilocos,]
have been directly impacted by the typhoon’s severe winds and heavy rains. The [local
government units (LGUs) have opened emergency shelters, and we are seeing an influx of
people seeking safety. The heavy rain is causing severe flooding, particularly in coastal areas
and low-lying communities.”
(Update on Casualties and Damage) “Unfortunately, we are also hearing reports of several
injuries in the region. At least [300 ] individuals have been reported injured, and authorities are
still working to confirm the full extent of the damage. Rescue teams are already mobilized, and
we can expect more updates as the situation develops. Power outages are widespread in
[Quezon Province, Aurora Province, and Central Luzon], and communication lines are down in
some areas, making it difficult to assess the full scale of the destruction at this point.”
“The storm surge is also affecting coastal communities. Residents near the shore are
experiencing rapid flooding, and authorities are urging people to stay in designated evacuation
centers. The Philippine Coast Guard has deployed teams to assist in evacuation efforts along
the coastline. The full impact on agriculture, infrastructure, and homes will be clearer once the
typhoon passes through, but for now, it’s crucial that everyone follow the safety advisories.”
Report 02 (Jemimah): As we brace for Typhoon [Noru], it's essential to be prepared at every
stage before, during, and after the storm. Here’s what you need to do to stay safe and protect
your loved ones."
Reporter 02 (Jemimah):
Before the Typhoon Hits "Secure your home, bring in outdoor items, and prepare an emergency
kit with essentials. Stay informed through social updates and have an evacuation plan ready."
During the Typhoon: "Stay indoors, away from windows. Move to higher ground if you're in a
flood-prone area. Keep your phone charged and follow local news for updates."
After the Typhoon: "Be cautious of debris and flooding. Wait for social clearance before leaving
your shelter and report any hazards like downed power lines."
