About This Guide

This guide provides instructions on how to use Express Setup to initially
configure your Catalyst switch. Also covered are switch management options and
troubleshooting help.
For complete information about installing and using the switch, see the
documentation online at Cisco.com > Technical Support & Documentation >
Switches > Catalyst 2960 Series Switches.
For system requirements, important notes, limitations, open and resolved bugs,
and last-minute documentation updates, see the release notes, also on Cisco.com.
When using the online publications, refer to the documents that match the Cisco
IOS software version running on the switch. The software version is on the Cisco
IOS label on the switch rear panel.
Before you power or install the switch, review the safety information in the

accompanies this guide.

Running Express Setup

Equipment That You Supply to Run Express Setup

You need to supply this equipment to run Express Setup:
• PC
• Ethernet (Category 5) straight-through cable (as shown)

Running Express Setup

When you first set up the switch, you should use Express Setup to enter the initial
IP information. This enables the switch to connect to local routers and the
Internet. You can then access the switch through the IP address for further
configuration.
To run Express Setup:

Step 1 Verify that no devices are connected to the switch, because during Express Setup, the switch
acts as a DHCP server. If your PC has a static IP address, before you begin, you should change
your PC settings to temporarily use DHCP.
Step 2 Connect the AC power cord to the switch and to a grounded AC outlet. The power-on self-test
(POST) begins. During POST, the LEDs blink while a series of tests verify that the switch
functions properly. LED behavior during POST is unpredictable and might vary.
Step 3 Wait for the switch to complete POST. It might take several minutes for the switch to complete
POST.
Step 4 Verify that POST has completed by confirming that the SYST LED rapidly blinks green. If the
switch fails POST, the SYST LED turns amber.
POST errors are usually fatal. Call Cisco Systems immediately if your switch fails POST.

Step 11 The Express Setup page appears. If it does not appear, see the “Troubleshooting Express Setup”
section on page 1-8 for help. Note: all entries must be in English letters and numbers.

Step 12 Enter this information in the Network Settings fields:

• In the Management Interface (VLAN ID) field, the default is 1. Enter a new VLAN ID
only if you want to change the management interface through which you manage the switch
and to which you assign IP information. The VLAN ID range is 1 to 1001.
• In the IP Address field, enter the IP address of the switch. In the IP Subnet Mask field,
click the drop-down arrow, and select an IP Subnet Mask.
• In the Default Gateway field, enter the IP address for the default gateway (router).
• Enter your password in the Switch Password field. The password can be from 1 to 25
alphanumeric characters, can start with a number, is case sensitive, allows embedded
spaces, but does not allow spaces at the beginning or end. In the Confirm Switch
Password field, enter your password again.

Step 13 (Optional) You can enter the Optional Settings information now or enter it later by using the
device manager interface:
• In the Host Name field, enter a name for the switch. The host name is limited to 31
characters; embedded spaces are not allowed.
• In the System Contact field, enter the name of the person responsible for the switch. In
the System Location field, enter the wiring closet, floor, or building where the switch is
located.
• In the Telnet Access field, click Enable if you are going to use Telnet to manage the switch
by using the command-line interface (CLI). If you enable Telnet access, you must enter a
Telnet password.
• In the Telnet Password field, enter a password. The Telnet password can be from 1 to 25
alphanumeric characters, is case sensitive, allows embedded spaces, but does not allow
spaces at the beginning or end. In the Confirm Telnet Password field, enter the Telnet
password again.
• In the SNMP field, click Enable to enable Simple Network Management Protocol
(SNMP). Enable SNMP only if you plan to manage switches by using CiscoWorks2000 or
another SNMP-based network-management system.
If you enable SNMP, you must enter a community string in the SNMP Read Community
field, the SNMP Write Community field, or both. SNMP community strings authenticate
access to MIB objects. Embedded spaces are not allowed in SNMP community strings.
When you set the SNMP read community, you can access SNMP information, but cannot
modify it. When you set the SNMP write community, you can access and modify SNMP
information.
Step 14 Click Submit to save your settings, or click Cancel to clear your settings.
When you click Submit, the switch is configured and exits Express Setup mode. The PC
displays a warning message and then attempts to connect with the new switch IP address. If you
configured the switch with an IP address that is in a different subnet from the PC, connectivity
between the PC and the switch is lost.
Step 15 Disconnect the switch from the PC, and install the switch in your network. See the “Managing
the Switch” section on page 1-6 for information about configuring and managing the switch.
If you need to rerun Express Setup, see the “Resetting the Switch” section on page 1-9.

Managing the Switch

Refreshing the PC IP Address

After you complete Express Setup, you should refresh the PC IP address.
For a dynamically assigned IP address, disconnect the PC from the switch, and
reconnect it to the network. The network DHCP server will assign a new IP
address to the PC.
For a statically assigned IP address, change it to the previously configured IP
address.

Managing the Switch

After completing Express Setup and installing the switch in your network, use the
device manager, Cisco Network Assistant, or another of the management options
described in this section for further configuration.

Using the Device Manager

The simplest way to manage the switch is by using the device manager that is in
the switch memory. This is an easy-to-use web interface that offers quick
configuration and monitoring. You can access the device manager from anywhere
in your network through a web browser.
Follow these steps:
1. Launch a web browser on your PC or workstation.
2. Enter the switch IP address in the web browser, and press Enter. The device
manager page appears.
3. Use the device manager to perform basic switch configuration and
monitoring. Refer to the device manager online help for more information.
4. For a more advanced configuration, download and run the Cisco Network
Assistant described in the next section.

Managing the Switch

Cisco Network Assistant

Cisco Network Assistant is a free software program that you download from
Cisco.com and run on your PC. Network Assistant offers advanced options for
configuring and monitoring multiple devices, including switches, switch clusters,
switch stacks, routers, and access points.

Command-Line Interface
You can enter Cisco IOS commands and parameters through the CLI. Access the
CLI either by connecting your PC directly to the switch console port or through a
Telnet session from a remote PC or workstation.
Follow these steps:
1. Connect the supplied RJ-45-to DB-9 adapter cable to the 9-pin serial port on
the PC. Connect the other end of the cable to the console port on the switch.
2. Start a terminal-emulation program on the PC.
3. Configure the PC terminal emulation software for 9600 baud, 8 data bits, no
parity, 1 stop bit, and no flow control.
4. Use the CLI to enter commands to configure the switch. See the software
configuration guide and the command reference for more information.

Other Management Options

You can use SNMP management applications such as CiscoWorks Small Network
Management Solution (SNMS) and HP OpenView to configure and manage the
switch. You also can manage it from an SNMP-compatible workstation that is
running platforms such as HP OpenView or SunNet Manager.
The Cisco IE2100 Series Configuration Registrar is a network management
device that works with embedded CNS agents in the switch software. You can use
IE2100 to automate initial configurations and configuration updates on the
switch.

Troubleshooting Express Setup

If Express Setup does not run, or if the Express Setup page does not appear in your
browser:

• Did you verify that POST successfully ran If not, make sure that only the SYST and STAT
before starting Express Setup? LEDs are green before pressing the Mode button
to enter the Express Setup mode.
• Did you press the Mode button while the If yes, wait until POST completes. Power cycle
switch was still running POST? the switch. Wait until POST completes. Confirm
that the SYST and STAT LEDs are green. Press
the Mode button to enter Express Setup mode.
• Did you try to continue without confirming Verify that all LEDs above the Mode button are
that the switch was in Express Setup mode? green. (The RPS LED is off.) If necessary, press
the Mode button to enter Express Setup mode.
• Does your PC have a static IP address? If yes, before connecting to the switch, change
your PC settings to temporarily use DHCP.
• Did you connect a crossover cable instead of a If yes, connect a straight-through cable to an

Resetting the Switch

Resetting the Switch

This section describes how to reset the switch by rerunning Express Setup. These
are reasons why you might want to reset the switch:
• You installed the switch in your network and cannot connect to it because you
assigned the wrong IP address.
• You want to clear all configurations from the switch and assign a new IP
address.
• You are trying to enter Express Setup mode, and the switch LEDs start
blinking when you press the Mode button (which means that the switch is
already configured with IP information).

Caution Resetting the switch deletes the configuration and reboots the switch.

To reset the switch:

• Press and hold the Mode button. The switch LEDs begin blinking after about
3 seconds. Continue holding down the Mode button. The LEDs stop blinking
after 7 more seconds, and then the switch reboots.
The switch now behaves like an unconfigured switch. You can enter the switch IP
information by using Express Setup as described in the “Running Express Setup”
section on page 1-2.

第1步 确认没有任何设备连接至交换机，因为在快速设置期间交换机作为 DHCP 服务器使用。

DHCP。
第2步 用交流电源线将交换机连接至正确接地的交流电插座。开始通电自检 (POST)。在 POST
期间，一系列测试证实交换机正常工作时，LED 会闪烁。POST 期间 LED 的行为是不可
预见的，且可能各有不同。
第3步 等待直至交换机完成 POST。交换机完成 POST 需花费几分钟的时间。
第4步 通过确认 SYST LED 是否快速闪烁为绿色来确定 POST 是否已完成。如果交换机的 POST
失败，SYST LED 变成琥珀色。
POST 错误通常是致命的。如果交换机的 POST 失败，立即致电给 Cisco Systems。

第 14 步 单击提交保存设置，或单击取消清除设置。
单击提交时，交换机配置完成并退出快速设置模式。个人电脑显示一条警告信息，然
后试图连接至新的交换机 IP 地址。如果使用与个人电脑中不同子网的 IP 地址配置交
换机，个人电脑和交换机之间的连接性丢失。
第 15 步 将交换机与个人电脑断开，在网络中安装交换机。关于配置和管理交换机的信息，请参
见第 2-6 页的 “管理交换机”一节。

管理交换机
完成快速设置并在网络中安装交换机之后，使用设备管理器、Cisco
Network Assistant 或本节中说明的另一管理选项进行日后配置。

使用设备管理器
管理交换机的最简单方法就是使用交换机存储器中的设备管理器。这是使用
简单的网络接口，提供快速配置和监控。可通过网络浏览器自网络中的任何
地方访问设备管理器。
采取如下步骤：
1. 在个人电脑或工作站上启动网络浏览器。
2. 在网络浏览器中输入交换机 IP 地址，按进入。出现设备管理器页面。
3. 使用设备管理器执行交换机的基本配置和监控。关于更多信息，请参阅
设备管理器在线帮助。
4. 关于更加高级的配置，按照下节所述下载并运行 Cisco Network
Assistant。

Cisco Network Assistant

Cisco Network Assistant 是自 Cisco.com 下载的在个人电脑上运行的免费

管理交换机

命令行接口
可以通过 CLI 输入 Cisco IOS 命令和参数。通过将个人电脑直接连接至交
换机控制台端口或通过来自远程个人电脑或工作站的远程登录会话访问
CLI。
采取如下步骤：
1. 将提供的 RJ-45 至 DB-9 适配器电缆连接至个人电脑上的 9 针串行端
口。将电缆的另一端连接至交换机上的控制台端口。
2. 在个人电脑上启动终端仿真程序。
3. 将个人电脑终端仿真软件配置为 9600 波特、8 个数据位、无奇偶校
验、1 个停止位和无流量控制。
4. 使用 CLI 输入用以配置交换机的命令。关于更多信息，请参见软件配置
指南和命令参考。

其它管理选项
可以使用 SNMP 管理应用程序（例如 CiscoWorks 小型网络管理解决方案
(SNMS) 和 HP OpenView）来配置和管理交换机。也可自正在运行 HP
OpenView 或 SunNet Manager 之类平台的与 SNMP 兼容的工作站管理交换
机。
Cisco IE2100 系列配置注册器是与交换机软件中装入的 CNS 代理程序一起
工作的网络管理设备。可以使用 IE2100 来自动化交换机上的初始配置和配

如果快速设置不运行，或者如果浏览器中不显示快速设置页面：

• 在开始快速设置之前，有无确认是否已成 如果没有，确保在按下模式按钮进入快速设置

重置交换机

重置交换机
本节说明如何通过重新运行快速设置来重置交换机。需要重置交换机的可能
原因如下：
• 在网络中安装了交换机，但是不能连接至此交换机，因为您分配了错误
的 IP 地址。
• 想要清除交换机的所有配置，并分配新的 IP 地址。
• 尝试进入快速设置模式时，按下模式按钮后交换机 LED 开始闪烁 （这说
明交换机已经配置有 IP 信息）。

警告 重置交换机会删除配置，并重新启动交换机。

如要重置交换机：
• 按并一直按住模式按钮。大约 3 秒钟后交换机 LED 开始闪烁。继续按住
模式按钮。大约再过 7 秒钟后 LED 停止闪烁，然后交换机重新启动。
此时，交换机如未配置的交换机那般工作。如第 2-2 页的 “运行快速设置”
所述，使用快速设置输入交换机 IP 信息。

Exécuter le Configurateur express

Équipement nécessaire pour exécuter le Configurateur express

Vous devez fournir cet équipement pour exécuter la Configurateur express :
• PC
• Câble Ethernet (Catégorie 5) droit (tel qu’illustré)

Exécuter le Configurateur express

Lors de la première configuration du commutateur, vous devriez utiliser le Configurateur
express pour entrer les renseignements IP initiaux. Ceci permet au commutateur de se
connecter aux routeurs locaux et à l’Internet. Vous pouvez ensuite accéder au
commutateur par l’adresse IP pour une configuration avancée.
Pour exécuter le Configurateur express :

Étape 1 Vérifiez qu’aucun périphérique n’est connecté au commutateur, car pendant la configuration
express, le commutateur sert de serveur DHCP. Si votre PC possède une adresse IP statique, vous
devriez modifier les paramètres de votre PC pour utiliser DHCP temporairement avant de
commencer.
Étape 2 Branchez le cordon d’alimentation AC au commutateur et à une prise c.a. mise à la terre. L’autotest
à la mise sous tension (POST, power-on self test) débute. Pendant le POST, le DEL clignote pendant
qu’une série de tests vérifie que le commutateur fonctionne adéquatement. Le comportement du
DEL pendant le POST est imprévisible et peut varier.
Étape 3 Attendez que le commutateur ait complété le POST. Le commutateur peut prendre plusieurs
minutes avant de terminer le POST.
Étape 4 Vérifiez si le POST est terminé en confirmant que le DEL SYST clignote rapidement en vert. Si le
commutateur échoue le POST, le DEL SYST devient ambre.
Les erreurs de le POST sont généralement fatales. Téléphonez à Cisco Systems immédiatement si
votre commutateur échoue le POST.

Étape 11 La page Configuration express apparaît. Si elle n’apparaît pas, voir la section Dépannage du
Configurateur express sur la page 3-8 pour de l’aide. Remarque : toutes les entrées doivent être
composées de lettres en anglais et de chiffres.

Étape 12 Entrez ces renseignements dans les champs Paramètres du réseau :

• Dans le champ Interface de gestion (ID VLAN), le chiffre par défaut est 1. Entrez un nouvel
ID VLAN seulement si vous voulez modifier l’interface de gestion par laquelle vous gérez le
commutateur et à laquelle vous attribuez les renseignements IP. L’étendue de l’ID VLAN est
de 1 à 1001.
• Dans le champ Adresse IP, entrez l’adresse IP du commutateur. Dans le champ Masque de
sous-réseau, cliquez sur la flèche déroulante et sélectionnez Masque de sous-réseau.
• Dans le champ Passerelle par défaut, entrez l’adresse IP pour la passerelle par défaut
(routeur).
• Entrez votre mot de passe dans le champ Mot de passe de commutation. Le mot de passe peut
comporter de 1 à 25 caractères alphanumériques, peut commencer avec un chiffre, est sensible
aux minuscules et majuscules, permet les espaces intercalés, mais ne permet pas les espaces au
début ou à la fin. Entrez le mot de passe de nouveau dans le champ Confirmer le mot de passe
de commutation.

Étape 13 (Optionnel) Vous pouvez entrer les renseignements de Paramètres optionnels maintenant ou les
entrer plus tard en utilisant l’interface du gestionnaire de périphériques :
• Dans le champ Nom d’hôte, entrez un nom pour le commutateur. Le nom d’hôte est limité à
31 caractères; les espaces intercalés ne sont pas permis.
• Dans le champ Contact système, entrez le nom de la personne responsable du commutateur.
Dans le champ Emplacement du système, entrez l’armoire de répartition, l’étage ou
l’immeuble dans lequel se situe le commutateur.
• Dans le champ Accès Telnet, cliquez sur Activer si vous utilisez Telnet pour gérer le
commutateur en utilisant l'interface de ligne de commande (CLI, Command-Line Interface).
Vous devez entrer un mot de passe Telnet si vous activez l’accès à Telnet.
• Entrez le mot de passe dans le champ Mot de passe Telnet. Le mot de passe Telnet peut
comporter de 1 à 25 caractères alphanumériques, est sensible aux minuscules et majuscules,
permet les espaces intercalés, mais ne permet pas les espaces au début ou à la fin. Entrez le mot
de passe de nouveau dans le champ Confirmer le mot de passe Telnet.
• Dans le champ SNMP, cliquez sur Activer pour activer le protocole de gestion de réseau
simple (SNMP, Simple Network Management Protocol). Activer SNMP seulement si vous
prévoyez gérer les commutateurs en utilisant CiscoWorks2000 ou un autre système de gestion
de réseau basé sur SNMP.
Si vous activez SNMP, vous devez entrer une chaîne de communauté dans le champ
Communauté de lecture SNMP, le champ Communauté d’écriture SNMP ou les deux. Les
chaînes de communauté SNMP authentifient l’accès aux objets de la Base d'information de
gestion (MIB). Les espaces intercalés ne sont pas permis dans les chaînes de communauté SNMP.
Lorsque vous configurez la communauté de lecture SNMP, vous pouvez accéder aux
renseignements SNMP, mais vous ne pouvez pas les modifier. Lorsque vous configurez la
communauté d’écriture SNMP, vous pouvez accéder aux et modifier les renseignements SNMP.
Étape 14 Cliquez sur Soumettre pour enregistrer vos paramètres ou cliquez sur Annuler pour effacer vos
paramètres.
Lorsque vous cliquez sur Soumettre, le commutateur est configuré et quitte le mode Configurateur
express. Le PC affiche un message d’avertissement et tente ensuite de se connecter à la nouvelle
adresse IP du commutateur. Si vous avez configuré le commutateur avec une adresse IP qui est située
dans un sous-réseau différent de celui du PC, la connectivité entre le PC et le commutateur est perdue.
Étape 15 Débranchez le commutateur du PC et installez le commutateur sur votre réseau. Consultez la section
Gérer le commutateur sur la page 3-6 pour obtenir des renseignements sur la configuration et la
gestion du commutateur.
Si vous devez ré-exécuter le Configurateur express, consultez la section Réinitialiser le
commutateur sur la page 3-9.

Gérer le commutateur

Actualiser l’adresse IP du PC
Après avoir complété le Configurateur express, vous devriez actualiser l’adresse IP
du PC.
Pour obtenir une adresse IP attribuée dynamiquement, débranchez le PC du
commutateur et rebranchez-le au réseau. Le serveur du réseau DHCP attribuera une
nouvelle adresse IP au PC.
Pour obtenir une adresse IP attribuée statiquement, modifiez-la pour l’ancienne
adresse IP configurée.

Gérer le commutateur
Après avoir complété le Configurateur express et installé le commutateur dans votre
réseau, utilisez le gestionnaire de périphériques, Cisco Network Assistant, ou une
autre option de gestion décrite dans cette section pour une configuration avancée.

Utiliser le Gestionnaire de périphériques

La façon la plus simple de gérer le commutateur est en utilisant le gestionnaire de
périphériques qui est situé dans la mémoire du commutateur. Il s’agit d’une interface
Internet facile à utiliser offrant une configuration et une surveillance rapides. Vous
pouvez accéder au gestionnaire de périphériques à partir de n’importe où dans votre
réseau par un navigateur Internet.
Suivez ces étapes :
1. Lancez un navigateur Internet sur votre PC ou poste de travail.
2. Entrez l’adresse IP 10.0.0.1 dans le navigateur Internet et appuyez sur Entrée. La
page du gestionnaire de périphériques apparaît.
3. Utilisez le gestionnaire de périphériques pour effectuer des configurations et
surveillances de base du commutateur. Pour plus de renseignements,

Gérer le commutateur

Cisco Network Assistant

Cisco Network Assistant est un logiciel gratuit que vous pouvez télécharger à partir
du site Cisco.com et exécuter sur votre PC. Network Assistant offre des options
avancées pour configurer et surveiller plusieurs périphériques comprenant les
commutateurs, les grappes de commutateur, les piles de commutateurs, les routeurs et
les points d’accès.

Interface de ligne de commande

Vous pouvez entrer les commandes et paramètres IOS Cisco par l’interface de ligne
de commande (CLI, Command-Line Interface). Accédez au CLI en vous connectant
directement à votre PC ou au port de console du commutateur ou par une session
Telnet à partir d’un PC distant ou d’un poste de travail.
Suivez ces étapes :
1. Branchez le câble d’adaptateur RJ-45 à DB-9 au port série à 9 broches de
raccordement au PC. Branchez l’autre extrémité du câble au port de console sur
le commutateur.
2. Démarrez un programme d’émulation de terminaux sur le PC.
3. Configurez le logiciel d’émulation de terminaux PC pour 9600 bauds, 8 bits
d’information, aucune parité, 1 bit d’arrêt et aucun contrôle de flux.
4. Utilisez CLI pour entrer les commandes pour configurer le commutateur.

Autres options de gestion

Vous pouvez utiliser des applications de gestion SNMP telles que Small Network
Management Solution de CiscoWorks et OpenView de HP pour configurer et gérer
le commutateur. Vous pouvez aussi le gérer à partir d’un poste de travail compatible
avec SNMP qui exécute des plate-formes telles que OpenView de HP ou SunNet
Manager.

Dépannage du Configurateur express

Le Registraire de configuration de la série IE2100 Cisco est un périphérique de

gestion de réseau qui fonctionne avec des agents CNS intercalaires dans le logiciel de
commutation. Vous pouvez utiliser IE2100 pour automatiser des configurations
initiales et des mises à jour des configurations sur le commutateur.

Si le Configurateur express ne s’exécute pas ou si la page Configurateur express
n’apparaît pas sur votre navigateur :

connecté au commutateur et au PC avant 10.0.0.1 de nouveau dans le navigateur et appuyez

• Avez-vous entré la mauvaise adresse dans le Si la réponse est oui, entrez 10.0.0.1 de nouveau dans
navigateur ou y a-t-il un message d’erreur? le navigateur et appuyez sur Entrée.

Réinitialiser le commutateur
Cette section décrit comment réinitialiser le commutateur en ré-exécutant
Configurateur express. Voici des raisons pour lesquelles vous voudriez peut-être
réinitialiser le commutateur :
• Vous avez installé le commutateur sur votre réseau et vous ne pouvez vous y
connecter parce que vous avez attribué la mauvaise adresse IP.
• Vous voulez effacer toutes les configurations du commutateur et attribuer une
nouvelle adresse IP.
• Vous tentez d’entrer en mode Configurateur express et les DELs du commutateur
commencent à clignoter lorsque vous appuyez sur le bouton Mode (ce qui
signifie que le commutateur est déjà configuré avec des renseignements IP).

Précautions Réinitialiser le commutateur supprime les configurations et redémarre le

commutateur.

Pour réinitialiser le commutateur :

• Appuyez sur le bouton Mode et maintenez-le enfoncé. Après environ 3 secondes,
les DELs du commutateur commencent à clignoter. Continuez de maintenir le
bouton Mode enfoncé. Les DELs arrêtent de clignoter après 7 secondes
supplémentaires et le commutateur redémarre ensuite.
Le commutateur agit maintenant comme un commutateur non configuré. Vous
pouvez entrer les renseignements IP du commutateur en utilisant le Configurateur
express tel que décrit dans la section Exécuter le Configurateur express sur la
page 3-2.

Für die Express Einrichtung benötigen Sie folgendes:
• PC
• Ethernet (Kategorie 5) Parallelkabel (wie dargestellt)

Express Einrichtung ausführen

Wenn Sie Ihren Switch das erste Mal einrichten, sollten Sie die Express Einrichtung
durchführen, um die grundsätzlichen IP-Informationen einzugeben. Damit kann der
Switch Verbindungen zu lokalen Routern und dem Internet aufbauen. Sie können
dann zur weiteren Konfiguration über die IP-Adresse auf den Switch zugreifen.
So benutzen Sie die Express Einrichtung:

Schritt 1 Vergewissern Sie sich, dass keine Geräte an dem Switch angeschlossen sind, da der Switch bei der
Express Einrichtung als DHCP-Server fungiert. Bevor Sie beginnen sollten Sie Ihre
PC-Einstellungen ändern, um DHCP vorübergehend zu verwenden, falls Ihr PC über eine statische
IP-Adresse verfügt.
Schritt 2 Stecken Sie das Wechselstromkabel in den Switch und das andere Ende des Kabels in eine geerdete
Steckdose. Der „Power-On Selbsttest” (POST) wird durchgeführt. Beim POST blinken die LEDs
und eine Reihe von Tests bestätigt, das die Switch-Funktionen ordnungsgemäß laufen. Das
Verhalten der LEDs beim POST kann nicht bestimmt werden und unterschiedlich sein.
Schritt 3 Warten Sie, bis der POST abgeschlossen ist. Dies kann einige Minuten dauern.
Schritt 4 Wenn die SYST-LED schnell grün blinkt bedeutet das, dass der POST abgeschlossen ist. Falls der
Switch den POST nicht erfolgreich abschließt, dann leuchtet die SYST-LED gelb auf.
POST-Fehler sind normalerweise verhängnisvoll. Wenden Sie sich umgehend an Cisco-Systems,
falls Ihr Switch den POST nicht erfolgreich abschließt.

Schritt 5 Halten Sie die Taste Mode 3 Sekunden

lang gedrückt. Wenn alle LEDs über
der Modustaste grün aufleuchten,
können Sie die Modustaste wieder
loslassen.
Falls die LEDs über der Modustaste
nach dem Drücken auf die Taste zu
blinken beginnen, lassen Sie die Taste
wieder los. Blinkende LEDs bedeuten,
dass der Switch bereits konfiguriert ist
und er daher nicht in den Express
Einrichtungsmodus umgestellt werden
kann. Weitere Informationen finden
Sie im Abschnitt „Den Switch
zurücksetzen“ auf Seite 4-10.
Schritt 6 Vergewissern Sie sich, dass alle LEDs über der Modustaste grün aufleuchten und sich der Switch
im Express-Modus befindet. (Die RPS-LED leuchtet nicht bei allen Switch-Modellen auf.)
Schritt 7 Stecken Sie das Ethernet-Parallelkabel
der Kategorie 5 (nicht mitgeliefert) in
einen der 10/100 oder 10/100/1000
Ethernetanschlüsse auf der Vorderseite
des Switchs und das andere Ende in den
Ethernetanschluss am PC ein.

Schritt 8 Vergewissern Sie sich, dass die LEDs an beiden Ethernetanschlüssen grün aufleuchten.
Schritt 9 Warten Sie 30 Sekunden lang.
Schritt10 Starten Sie den Web-Browser auf
Ihrem PC. Geben Sie die IP-Adresse
10.0.0.1 in Ihren Web-Browser ein und
drücken Sie auf die Eingabetaste.

Schritt11 Die Seite für die Express Einrichtung wird angezeigt. Geschieht dies nicht, dann sehen Sie sich bitte
den Abschnitt „Fehlerbehebung bei der Express Einrichtung“ auf Seite 4-9 an. Hinweis: Alle
Einträge müssen mit englischen Buchstaben und Zahlen gemacht werden.

Schritt12 Geben Sie die folgenden Informationen in die Felder Netzwerkeinstellungen ein:
• Feld Managementschnittstelle (VLAN-ID) erscheint der Standardwert 1. Geben Sie nur dann
eine neue VLAN-ID ein, wenn Sie vorhaben, die Management-Schnittstelle, über die Sie den
Switch verwalten und der Sie die IP-Information zuweisen wollen, zu ändern. Der Bereich für
die VLAN-ID reicht von 1 bis 1001.
• Tragen Sie in das Feld IP Adresse die IP-Adresse für den Switch ein. Klicken Sie im Feld
Subnet Maske auf den Pfeil des Dropdown-Menüs und wählen Sie eine Subnet Maske aus.
• Tragen Sie in das Feld Standard Gateway die IP-Adresse für den Standard-Gateway (den
Router) ein.
• Geben Sie das Passwort in das Feld Switch Passwort ein. Das Passwort kann zwischen 1 und
25 alphanumerische Zeichen besitzen und mit einer Zahl beginnen, auf Groß- und
Kleinschreibung muss geachtet werden, Leerstellen zwischen den Zeichen sind erlaubt, es darf
aber keine Leerstelle am Anfang oder Ende des Wortes stehen. Geben Sie im Feld Switch
Passwort bestätigen nochmals Ihr Passwort ein.

Schritt13 (Optional) Sie können Ihre Optionalen Einstellungen jetzt oder später über die Schnittstelle des
Gerätemanagers eingeben:
• Geben Sie im Feld Hostname den Namen für den Switch ein. Der Hostname darf nicht mehr
als 31 Zeichen enthalten; eingebettete Leerstellen sind hier nicht erlaubt.
• Geben Sie im Feld Systemkontakt den Namen der Person an, die für den Switch
verantwortlich ist. Im Feld Systemstandort geben Sie den Ort ein, an dem sich der Switch
befindet, z.B. der Schaltschrank, das Stockwerk oder Gebäude.
• Klicken Sie im Feld Telnet Zugriff auf Aktivieren, wenn Sie Telnet zur Verwaltung des
Switchs über die Befehlszeilen-Schnittstelle (CLI) verwenden. Falls Sie den Telnet-Zugriff
aktivieren, müssen Sie ein Telnet-Passwort eingeben.
• Geben Sie im Feld Telnet Password ein Passwort ein. Das Telnet-Passwort kann zwischen 1
und 25 alphanumerische Zeichen besitzen, auf Groß- und Kleinschreibung muss geachtet
werden, Leerstellen zwischen den Zeichen sind erlaubt, aber es darf keine Leerstelle am
Anfang oder Ende des Wortes stehen. Geben Sie im Feld Telnet Passwort bestätigen Ihr
Telnet-Passwort nochmals ein.
• Klicken Sie im Feld SNMP auf Aktivieren, um das Simple Network Management Protocol
(SNMP) zu aktivieren. Aktivieren Sie SNMP nur dann, wenn Sie Ihren Switch über
CiscoWorks 2000 oder ein anderes SNMP-basiertes Netzwerkmanagementsystem verwalten
möchten.
Falls Sie SNMP aktivieren, müssen Sie einen Community-String entweder in das Feld SNMP
Read Community oder in das Feld SNMP Write Community eingeben, oder in beide. SNMP
Community-Strings authentifizieren den Zugriff auf MIB-Objekte. Eingebettete Leerstellen
sind in den SNMP Community-Strings nicht erlaubt. Wenn sie also die SNMP-Community als
schreibgeschützte Gruppe einrichten, dann können Sie zwar auf die SNMP-Information
zugreifen, sie aber nicht verändern. Wenn Sie den SNMP Community-String auf
schreibberechtigt einrichten, dann erhalten Sie Zugriff auf den Switch, um die
SNMP-Information zu verändern.

Verwaltung des Switchs

Schritt14 Klicken Sie auf Einreichen, um Ihre Einstellung abzuspeichern, oder auf Abbrechen, um Ihre
Einstellungen zu löschen.
Wenn Sie auf Einreichen klicken, wird der Switch konfiguriert und verlässt den Express
Einrichtungsmodus. Der PC zeigt dann eine Warnmeldung an und versucht über die neue
IP-Adresse auf den Switch zuzugreifen. Falls Sie den Switch mit einer anderen IP-Adresse
konfiguriert haben, als der des PC-Subnetzes, dann verlieren Sie die Verbindung zwischen dem PC
und dem Switch.
Schritt15 Trennen Sie den Switch vom PC und installieren Sie den Switch in Ihrem Netzwerk. Für weitere
Informationen über die Konfiguration und Verwaltung des Switchs sehen Sie sich den Abschnitt
„Verwaltung des Switchs“ auf Seite 4-6 an.
Falls Sie die Express Einrichtung nochmals durchführen müssen, sehen Sie sich die weiteren
Informationen im Abschnitt „Den Switch zurücksetzen“ auf Seite 4-10 an.

PC IP-Adresse aktualisieren
Nachdem Sie die Express Einrichtung abgeschlossen haben, sollten Sie die
IP-Adresse Ihres PCs aktualisieren.
Für eine dynamisch zugewiesene IP-Adresse trennen Sie den PC vom Switch und
verbinden Sie ihn mit Ihrem Netzwerk. Der Netzwerk DHCP-Server weist Ihrem PC
dann eine neue IP-Adresse zu.
Setzen Sie eine statisch zugewiesene IP-Adresse auf die zuvor konfigurierte
IP-Adresse zurück.

Verwaltung des Switchs

Nach Abschluss der Express Einrichtung und nach der Installation des Switchs in
Ihrem Netzwerk verwenden Sie den Gerätemanager, Cisco Network Assistant oder
eine andere, in diesem Abschnitt beschriebene Managementoption zur weiteren
Konfiguration.

Der Gerätemanager
Die einfachste Methode zur Verwaltung des Switchs ist über den Gerätemanager, der
sich im Speicher des Switchs befindet. Dies ist eine einfache und
benutzerfreundliche Webschnittstelle, die schnelle Konfiguration und
Überwachungsmöglichkeiten anbietet. Über einen Webbrowser können Sie von
überall im Netz auf den Gerätemanager zugreifen.
Befolgen Sie diese Schritte:
1. Starten Sie den Web-Browser auf Ihrem PC oder Ihrem Arbeitsplatz.
2. Geben Sie die IP-Adresse in Ihren Web-Browser ein und drücken Sie auf die
Eingabetaste. Die Seite für den Gerätemanager erscheint.
3. Verwenden Sie den Gerätemanager zur elementaren Konfiguration und
Überwachung des Switchs. Weitere Informationen finden Sie in der Online-Hilfe
für den Gerätemanager.
4. Im nächsten Abschnitt erhalten Sie detaillierte Informationen über die erweiterte
Konfiguration, das Herunterladen und die Ausführung des Cisco Network
Assistant.

Cisco Network Assistant

Cisco Network Assistant ist ein kostenloses Softwareprogramm, dass Sie über
Cisco.com herunterladen und dann auf Ihrem PC ausführen können. Network
Assistant bietet Ihnen erweiterte Optionen für die Konfiguration und Überwachung
mehrerer Geräte an, einschließlich Switch, Switch-Cluster, Switch-Stapel, Router
und Zugriffspunkte.

Befehlszeilen-Schnittstelle
Sie können Cisco IOS-Befehle und Parameter über das CLI eingeben. Sie können auf
das CLI entweder direkt über den an Ihrem Switch-Konsolenanschluss
angeschlossenen PC oder über eine Telnet-Sitzung von einem entfernten PC oder
Arbeitsplatz zugreifen.

Befolgen Sie diese Schritte:

1. Stecken Sie das mitgelieferte RJ-45-auf-DB-9-Adapterkabel in den 9-Pin
seriellen Anschluss Ihres PCs. Stecken Sie das andere Ende des Kabels in den
Konsolenanschluss des Switchs.
2. Starten Sie das Terminal-Emulation-Programm auf Ihrem PC.
3. Konfigurieren Sie Ihre PC Terminal Emulation Software auf 9600 Boud, 8
Datenbits, keine Parität, 1 Stopp-Bit und keine „Flow Control“.
4. Verwenden Sie das CLI zur Eingabe der Konfigurationsbefehle für den Switch.
Weitere Informationen erhalten Sie in den Software-Konfigurationsanweisungen
und der Befehlsreferenz.

Weitere Management-Optionen
Sie können eine SNMP-Managementanwendung, wie CiscoWorks Small Network
Management Solutions (SNMS) oder HP OpenView zur Konfiguration und
Verwaltung des Switchs verwenden. Allerdings können Sie ihn auch über einen
SNMP-kompatiblen Arbeitsplatz verwalten, solange darauf eine Plattform wie HP
OpenView oder SunNet Manager installiert ist.
Der Konfigurationsregistrator der Cisco IE2100 Serie ist ein Netzverwaltungsgerät,
das innerhalb der Switch-Software mit eingebetteten CNS-Agenten arbeitet. Sie
können das IE2100 zur Automatisierung der ersten Konfiguration und
Konfigurationsaktualisierung verwenden.

Fehlerbehebung bei der Express Einrichtung

Falls sich die Express Einrichtung nicht ausführen lässt, oder falls die Seite Express
Einrichtung nicht auf Ihrem Browser erscheint, gehen Sie bitte folgendermaßen vor:

• Bestätigen Sie, das vor der Installation der Falls nicht, prüfen Sie, das nur die SYST und
Express Einrichtung der POST erfolgreich STAT-LEDs grün aufleuchten, bevor Sie auf die
durchgeführt wurde? Modus-Taste zum Start der Express Einrichtung
drücken.
• Haben Sie während POST auf die Modustaste Falls ja, dann warten Sie, bis der POST
gedrückt? abgeschlossen ist. Schalten Sie den Switch aus und
dann wieder ein. Warten Sie, bis der POST
abgeschlossen ist. Bestätigen Sie, dass die SYST und
STAT-LEDs grün aufleuchten. Drücken Sie auf die
Modustaste und gehen Sie in den Express
Einrichtungsmodus.
• Haben Sie versucht, fortzufahren, bevor Sie Vergewissern Sie sich, dass alle LEDs über der
bestätigt hatten, dass der Switch sich im Express Modustaste grün aufleuchten. (Die RPS LED sollte
Einrichtungsmodus befindet? aus bleiben.) Drücken Sie ggf. auf die Modustaste
und gehen Sie in den Express Einrichtungsmodus.
• Verfügt Ihr PC über eine statische IP-Adresse? Falls ja, dann ändern Sie die Einstellung Ihres PCs

Verbindung zum Switch aufzubauen versuchen.
• Haben Sie versehentlich ein überkreuztes Falls ja, stecken Sie ein Parallelkabel in einen
(Crossover) Kabel anstelle eines parallelen Ethernetanschluss des Switchs und in Ihren PC.
(Straight-Through) Ethernetkabels zwischen Warten Sie 30 Sekunden, bevor Sie 10.0.0.1 in Ihren

Den Switch zurücksetzen

Dieser Abschnitt beschreibt, wie der Switch durch erneutes Ausführen der Express
Einrichtung zurückgesetzt werden kann. Sie sollten den Switch evtl. aus folgenden
Gründen zurücksetzen:
• Sie haben den Switch in Ihrem Netzwerk installiert, können ihn aber nun nicht
verbinden, weil Sie die falsche IP-Adresse eingegeben haben.
• Sie wollen alle Konfigurationen vom Switch löschen und eine neue IP-Adresse
zuweisen.
• Sie versuchen, in den Express Einrichtungsmodus zu gelangen und die LEDs auf
dem Switch blinken, wenn Sie auf die Modustaste drücken (was bedeutet, dass
der Switch bereits mit einer IP-Konfiguration versehen worden ist).

Vorsicht Das Zurücksetzen des Switchs löscht alle Konfigurationen und startet den Switch neu.

So setzen Sie den Switch zurück:

• Halten Sie die Modustaste gedrückt. Die LEDs fangen nach ungefähr 3 Sekunden
zu blinken an. Halten Sie die Modustaste weiterhin gedrückt. Die LEDs hören
nach ungefähr 7 Sekunden auf zu blinken und dann startet der Switch erneut.
Der Switch reagiert nun wie ein noch nicht konfigurierter Switch. Sie können jetzt die
Switch IP-Information über die Express Einrichtung wie in den Anweisungen und im
Abschnitt „Express Einrichtung ausführen“ auf Seite 4-2 eingeben.

Esecuzione di Express Setup

Attrezzature da provvedere per potere eseguire Express Setup

Per eseguire Express Setup è necessario disporre delle seguenti dotazioni:
• PC
• Cavo Ethernet (di categoria 5) normale (vedere figura)

Esecuzione di Express Setup

In occasione della prima configurazione dello switch è necessario utilizzare Express
Setup per immettere le informazioni IP iniziali. Ciò consente allo switch di
connettersi ai router locali e ad internet. Sarà poi possibile accedere allo switch
mediante l’indirizzo IP per completare la configurazione.
Per eseguire Express Setup:

Passo 1 Accertarsi che non vi siano dispositivi connessi allo switch, poiché durante l’esecuzione di Express
Setup lo switch funziona come un server DHCP. Se il proprio PC ha un indirizzo IP statico, prima
di cominciare occorre cambiare momentaneamente le impostazioni del PC ad ottenere un indirizzo
IP automaticamente.
Passo 2 Collegare il cavo di alimentazione elettrica all’adattatore e ad una presa di corrente con messa a
terra. durante l’avvio il router effettuerà un test automatico di accensione POST (power-on
self-test). Durante il POS i LED lampeggiano mentre una serie di test verifica che lo switch funzioni
correttamente. Il comportamento dei LED durante il POST è imprevedibile e può variare.
Passo 3 Attendere che lo switch completi il POST. Tale operazione può richiedere alcuni minuti.
Passo 4 Verificare che il POST sia terminato accertandosi che il LED SYST lampeggi rapidamente con luce
verde. Quando il POST dello switch fallisce il LED SYST assume il color ambra.
Gli errori di POST sono solitamente errori fatali. In caso di POST non riuscito sul proprio switch
chiamare immediatamente Cisco Systems.

Passo 6 Verificare che lo switch si trovi in modalità Express Setup confermando che tutti i LED sopra il
pulsante Mode siano verdi. (Su alcuni modelli di switch il LED RPS resta spento.)
Passo 7 Collegare un cavo Ethernet categoria 5
semplice (non fornito) ad una qualsiasi
porta Ethernet 10/100 o 10/10/1000 del
pannello frontale dello switch ed alla
porta Ethernet del PC.

Passo 8 Verificare che i LED sulle due porte Ethernet siano verdi.
Passo 9 Attendere 30 secondi.
Passo10 Avviare un browser sul PC. Immettere
l’indirizzo IP 10.0.0.1 nel browser web
e premere Invio.

Passo11 Viene visualizzata la pagina di Express Setup. Se questa pagina non compare, vedere la sezione
“Risoluzione degli errori in Express Setup” a pagina 5-8 per l’aiuto. Nota: tutte le voci devono
essere espresse con lettere dell’alfabeto inglese e numeri.

Passo12 Immettere queste informazioni nei campi Impostazioni di rete:

• Nel campo VLAN di gestione l’impostazione predefinita è 1. Immettere un ID VLAN diverso
solo se si vuole cambiare l’interfaccia di gestione mediante la quale si gestisce lo switch e alla
quale si assegna l’informazione IP. L’intervallo dei valori consentiti per l'ID VLAN è compreso
tra 1 e 1001.
• Nel campo Indirizzo IP, immettere l’indirizzo IP dello switch. Nel campo Subnet Mask fare
clic sul menu a tendina e selezionare una Subnet Mask.
• Nel campo Gateway predefinito immettere l’indirizzo IP del gateway predefinito (router).
• Immettere la propria password nel campo Password dello Switch. La password può contenere
da 1 a 25 caratteri alfanumerici, può iniziare con un numero, può contenere spazi al suo interno
ma non all’inizio o alla fine, e può contenere lettere maiuscole e minuscole che verranno
considerati come caratteri diversi. Nel campo Conferma password dello Switch, immettere
nuovamente la propria password.

contenere più di 31 caratteri, non sono consentiti spazi.
• Nel campo Contatto immettere il nome della persona responsabile dello switch. Nel campo
Posizione immettere l’armadietto di cablaggio, il piano o l’edificio in cui lo switch è situato.
• Nel campo Accesso Telnet fare clic su Attiva se si intende utilizzare Telnet per gestire lo
switch utilizzando l’interfaccia della riga di comando CLI (Command-Line Interface). Se si
attiva l’accesso Telnet si deve immettere una password Telnet.
• Nel campo Password Telnet immettere una password. La password Telnet può contenere da 1
a 25 caratteri alfanumerici, può contenere spazi al suo interno ma non all’inizio o alla fine, e
può contenere lettere maiuscole e minuscole che verranno considerati come caratteri diversi.
Nel campo Conferma password Telnet immettere nuovamente la password Telnet.
• Nel campo SNMP fare clic su Attiva per attivare il protocollo SNMP (Simple Network
Management Protocol). Attivare l’SNMP solo se si pianifica di gestire gli switch utilizzando
CiscoWorks2000 o un altro sistema di gestione di rete basato sulla rete.
Se si attiva l’SNMP è necessario immettere una stringa di comunità nel campo Comunità
lettura SNMP, nel campo Comunità scrittura SNMP o in entrambi. Le stringhe di comunità
SNMP autenticano l’accesso agli oggetti MIB. All’interno delle stringhe di comunità non è
consentito l’uso di spazi. Se si imposta la comunità di lettura SNMP gli utenti possono accedere
alle informazioni SNMP ma non le possono modificare. Se si imposta la comunità di scrittura
SNMP, è possibile accedere alle informazioni SNMP e modificarle.
Passo14 Fare clic su Invia per salvare le impostazioni o fare clic su Annulla per cancellare le impostazioni.
Quando si fa clic su Invia lo switch è configurato ed esce dalla modalità Express Setup. Dopo la
visualizzazione di un messaggio di avviso viene tentato un collegamento tra il PC e il nuovo
indirizzo IP. Se si è configurato lo switch con un indirizzo IP che si trova in una rete secondaria
diversa da quella del PC la connessione tra il PC e lo switch va perduta.
Passo15 Scollegare lo switch dal PC e installare lo switch nella propria rete. Per ulteriori informazioni sulla
configurazione e la gestione dello switch, consultare la sezione “Gestione dello switch” a
pagina 5-6.
Qualora sia necessario eseguire nuovamente Express Setup, vedere la sezione “Reimpostazione

Gestione dello switch

Aggiornamento dell’indirizzo IP del PC

Dopo avere completato Express Setup si deve aggiornare l’indirizzo IP del PC.
Per un indirizzo IP assegnato dinamicamente, scollegare il PC dallo switch e
ricollegarlo alla rete. Il server DHCP della rete assegnerà un nuovo indirizzo IP al PC.
Per un indirizzo IP assegnato staticamente, modificare l’indirizzo IP immettendo
quello configurato in precedenza.

Gestione dello switch

Dopo il completamento di Express Setup e l’installazione dello switch nella rete,
usare il Device manager, Cisco Network Assistant o un’altra tra le opzioni di gestione
descritte in questa sezione per l’ulteriore configurazione.

Uso del Device manager

Il modo più semplice di gestire lo switch è offerto dall’uso del Device manager che si
trova nella memoria dello switch. Questa è un’interfaccia web di facile uso che offre
la configurazione rapida e il monitoraggio. Mediante l’uso di un browser è possibile
accedere al Device manager da qualsiasi punto della rete.
Compiere i passi seguenti:
1. Avviare un browser web sul PC o sulla workstation.
2. Immettere l’indirizzo IP dello switch nel browser web e premere Invio. Viene
visualizzata la pagina del Device manager.
3. Usare il Device manager per eseguire la configurazione di base e il monitoraggio
dello switch. Consultare la guida in linea del Device manager per ulteriori
informazioni.
4. Per una configurazione più avanzata scaricare ed eseguire il Cisco Network
Assistant descritto nella prossima sezione.

Gestione dello switch

Cisco Network Assistant

Cisco Network Assistant è un programma software gratuito scaricabile da Cisco.com
ed eseguibile sul proprio PC. Tale assistente offre opzioni avanzate per la
configurazione ed il monitoraggio di più dispositivi, compresi gli switch, i cluster di
switch, gli stack di switch, i router e gli access point.

Interfaccia riga di comando (CLI)

È possibile immettere i comandi e i parametri Cisco IOS mediante la CLI. Accedere
alla CLI collegando il PC direttamente alla porta console dello switch oppure tramite
una sessione Telnet da un PC o una workstation remota.
Compiere i passi seguenti:
1. Collegare il cavo adattatore da RJ-45 a DB-9 fornito alla porta seriale a 9 piedini
del PC. Collegare l’altra estremità del cavo alla porta console dello switch.
2. Avviare il programma di emulazione del terminale sul PC.
3. Configurare il software di emulazione del terminale del PC per 9600 baud, 8 bit
di dati, 1 bit di stop e nessun controllo di flusso.
4. Usare la CLI per immettere i comandi di configurazione dello switch. Consultare
la guida di configurazione del software e la descrizione dei comandi per ulteriori
informazioni.

Altre opzioni di gestione

È possibile utilizzare le applicazioni SNMP come CiscoWorks SNMS (Small
Network Management Solution) and HP OpenView per la configurazione e la
gestione dello switch. È anche possibile gestire lo switch da una workstation
compatibile con SNMP che esegue piattaforme come HP OpenView o SunNet
Manager.
Il Cisco IE2100 Series Configuration Registrar è un dispositivo di gestione di rete che
funziona con agenti CNS incorporati nel software dello switch. È possibile usare
IE2100 per rendere automatiche le configurazioni iniziali e gli aggiornamenti di
configurazione dello switch.

Se Express Setup non funziona o la pagina di Express Setup non viene visualizzata
nel proprio browser:

• Si è verificata la corretta esecuzione dei test Se no, accertarsi che soltanto i LED SYST e STAT
POST prima di avviare Express Setup? siano verdi prima di premere il pulsante Mode e
accedere alla modalità Express Setup.
• Si è premuto il pulsante Mode mentre lo switch Se sì, attendere che lo switch completi i test POST.
stava ancora eseguendo i test POST? Spegnere e accendere lo switch. Attendere che il
POST sia terminato. Assicurarsi che i LED SYST e
STAT siano verdi. Premere il pulsante Mode per
accedere alla modalità Express Setup.
• Si è provato a procedere senza assicurarsi che lo Verificare che tutti i LED sopra al pulsante Mode
switch si trovasse in modalità Express Setup? siano verdi. (Il LED RPS è spento). Se necessario

Reimpostazione dello switch

Questa sezione descrive in che modo reimpostare lo switch eseguendo nuovamente
Express Setup. I seguenti motivi possono determinare la necessità di ripristinare lo
switch:
• Lo switch è stato installato nella rete e non è possibile connettersi ad esso perché
gli è stato assegnato un indirizzo IP errato.
• Si vogliono eliminare tutte le configurazioni dallo switch e assegnare un nuovo
indirizzo IP allo switch.
• Si sta cercando di accedere alla modalità Express Setup e i LED dello switch
cominciano a lampeggiare quando si preme il pulsante Mode (ciò che significa
che lo switch è già configurato con i dati IP).

Attenzione La reimpostazione dello switch cancella la configurazione e riavvia lo switch.

Per ripristinare lo switch:

• Tenere premuto il pulsante Mode. I LED dello switch cominciano a lampeggiare
dopo circa 3 secondi. Continuare a tenere premuto il pulsante Mode. I LED
smettono di lampeggiare dopo circa 7 secondi, quindi lo switch si riavvia.
Ora lo switch si comporta come un switch non configurato. È possibile immettere le
informazioni IP dello switch utilizzando Express Setup come descritto nella sezione
“Esecuzione di Express Setup” a pagina 5-2.

Express 設定の実行に必要な機器（ユーザ側で用意するもの）
Express 設定 を実行す る には、 次の機器が必要です。
• PC
• カ テ ゴ リ 5 のス ト レ ー ト イ ーサネ ッ ト ケー ブル （下図 を参照）

Express 設定 の実行
初めて ス イ ッ チ を セ ッ ト ア ッ プ す る場合、 Express 設定 を使 っ て初期 IP
情報 を入力す る必要があ り ます。 IP 情報 を入力す る と 、 ス イ ッ チ を ロ ー カ
ル ルー タ と イ ン タ ーネ ッ ト に接続で き ます。 その結果 IP ア ド レ ス を使 っ
て ス イ ッ チに ア ク セ ス し 、 詳細な設定がで き る よ う に な り ます。
Express 設定の実行手順は次の通 り です ：

手順 1 ス イ ッ チに接続 さ れてい る装置がない こ と を確認 し ます。 Express 設定 実行中はス イ ッ

チが DHCP サーバ と し て動作するか ら です。 PC に静的な IP ア ド レ スが設定 さ れてい る
場合は、 あ ら か じ め PC の設定を変更 し 、 一時的に DHCP を使用する設定に し ます。
手順 2 電源 コ ー ド を ス イ ッ チ と アース付 き AC コ ン セ ン ト に接続 し ます。 電源投入時セル フ
テ ス ト （POST） が開始 さ れます。 POST 実行中、 一連のテ ス ト に よ り ス イ ッ チが正常
に動作 し てい る こ と が確認 さ れてい る間は LED が点滅 し ます。 POST 実行中、 LED は
予測不可能なほど に点滅 し 変化 し ます。
手順 3 ス イ ッ チの POST が完了す る ま で待機 し ます。 ス イ ッ チが POST を完了す る ま で数分
かか る こ と も あ り ます。
手順 4 POST が完了す る と 、 SYST LED のグ リ ー ンの点滅が速 く な り ま すので確認 し て く だ さ
い。 POST に失敗す る と SYST LED がオ レ ン ジ に変わ り ます。
POST エ ラ ーは通常、 修復不能です。 ス イ ッ チが POST に失敗 し た場合は、 た だ ち に
Cisco Systems に ご連絡 く だ さ い。

います。

手順12 ネ ッ ト ワー ク 設定 フ ィ ール ド に、 次の情報 を入力 し ます ：

• 管理イ ン タ ー フ ェ ース （ VLAN ） フ ィ ール ド のデ フ ォ ル ト は 1 です。 ス イ ッ チ を管
理 し て IP を割 り 当て る管理 イ ン タ ー フ ェ ース を変更す る場合にだけ、 新 し い
VLAN ID を入力 し ま す。 VLAN ID の範囲は 1 ～ 1001 です。
• IP ア ド レ ス フ ィ ール ド に ス イ ッ チの IP ア ド レ ス を入力 し ま す。 サブネ ッ ト マ ス ク
フ ィ ール ド では、 下向 きの矢印 を ク リ ッ ク し てサブネ ッ ト マス ク を指定 し ま す。
• デ フ ォ ル ト ゲー ト ウ ェ イ フ ィ ール ド に、 デ フ ォ ル ト ゲー ト ウ ェ イ （ルー タ ） の IP
ア ド レ ス を入力 し ます。
• ス イ ッ チ パスワー ド フ ィ ール ド にパス ワー ド を入力 し ます。こ のパス ワー ド は 1 ～
25 文字の英数字で、 数字か ら 開始で き、 大文字 と 小文字が区別 さ れます。 スペー
ス を挿入で き ますが、 最初 と 最後に スペース を入れ る こ と はで き ません。 ス イ ッ

• ホス ト 名 フ ィ ール ド に ス イ ッ チの名前 を入力 し ます。 ホ ス ト 名は 31 字以内で、 途
中に スペース を含め る こ と はで き ません。
• シ ス テム コ ン タ ク ト フ ィ ール ド に ス イ ッ チの担当者名 を入力 し ます。 シ ス テム位
置 フ ィ ール ド に、 ス イ ッ チが設置 さ れてい る配線 ク ロ ーゼ ッ ト 、 階、 ま たは ビル
を入力 し ます。
• CLI （ コ マ ン ド ラ イ ン イ ン タ ー フ ェ ース） で ス イ ッ チ を管理す る ために Telnet を使
用す る場合は、 Telnet ア ク セス フ ィ ール ド で、 イ ネーブルにする を ク リ ッ ク し ま
す。 Telnet に よ る ア ク セ ス を有効にす る には、 Telnet のパス ワー ド を入力す る必
要があ り ます。

ク 管理プ ロ ト コ ル） が有効に な り ます。 SNMP は、 CiscoWorks2000 ま たはその他
の SNMP ベースのネ ッ ト ワー ク 管理シ ス テム を使 っ て ス イ ッ チ を管理 し よ う と し
てい る場合にのみ有効に し ます。
SNMP を有効にす る場合、 SNMP 読み取 り コ ミ ュ ニ テ ィ フ ィ ール ド と SNMP 書き込
み コ ミ ュ ニ テ ィ フ ィ ール ド の両方ま たはど ち ら か一方に コ ミ ュ ニ テ ィ ス ト リ ン グ
を入力す る必要があ り ます。 SNMP コ ミ ュ ニ テ ィ ス ト リ ン グに よ り 、 MIB オ ブ
ジ ェ ク ト へのア ク セ スが認証 さ れます。 SNMP コ ミ ュ ニ テ ィ ス ト リ ン グの途中に
スペース を使用す る こ と はで き ません。 SNMP 読み取 り コ ミ ュ ニ テ ィ を設定 し た
場合、 SNMP 情報に ア ク セ スはで き ますが、 SNMP 情報の変更はで き ません。
SNMP 書 き込み コ ミ ュ ニ テ ィ を設定 し た場合、 SNMP 情報に ア ク セ スす る こ と も
SNMP 情報 を変更す る こ と も で き ます。

手順14 送信 を ク リ ッ ク す る と 設定が保存 さ れます。 キ ャ ン セル を ク リ ッ ク す る と 設定が解除

さ れます。
送信 を ク リ ッ ク す る と 、 ス イ ッ チが設定 さ れ、 Express 設定 モー ド を終了 し ま す。 PC
に警告 メ ッ セージが表示 さ れ、 新 し い ス イ ッ チ IP ア ド レ スに接続 し よ う と し ます。 ス
イ ッ チ に PC と は異な るサブ ネ ッ ト の IP ア ド レ ス を設定 し た場合、 PC と ス イ ッ チの
接続がで き な く な り ます。
手順15 ス イ ッ チ を PC か ら 切 り 離 し 、 ネ ッ ト ワー ク内に設置 し ます。 ス イ ッ チの設定および管
理については、 「ス イ ッ チの管理」 （p.6-7） を参照 し て く だ さ い。
Express 設定 を再実行する必要があ る場合は、 「ス イ ッ チの リ セ ッ ト 」 （p.6-10） を参照
し て く だ さ い。

PC の IP アドレスの更新
Express 設定 を完了 し た ら 、 PC の IP ア ド レ ス を更新 し ます。
動的に割 り 当て ら れた IP ア ド レ スの場合、 ス イ ッ チか ら PC を切 り 離 し 、
ネ ッ ト ワー ク に再接続 し ます。 ネ ッ ト ワー ク DHCP サーバに よ り 、 PC に
新 し い IP ア ド レ スが割 り 当て ら れます。
静的に割 り 当て た IP ア ド レ スの場合、 前回設定 し た IP ア ド レ スに戻 し ま
す。

スイッチの管理
Express 設定 を完了 し 、 ス イ ッ チ を ネ ッ ト ワー ク に設置 し た ら 、 こ のセ ク
シ ョ ン で説明 さ れてい る、 デバ イ ス マ ネージ ャ 、 Cisco Network Assistant、
ま たは他の管理オ プ シ ョ ン を使 っ て詳細設定 を行い ます。

デバイス マネージャの使用
ス イ ッ チ を管理す る最 も 簡単な方法は、 ス イ ッ チ メ モ リ の中にあ る デバ
イ ス マ ネージ ャ を使用す る こ と です。 デバ イ ス マ ネージ ャ は、 迅速な設
定やモ ニ タ を提供す る使い勝手の良い イ ン タ ー フ ェ ース です。 デバ イ ス
マ ネージ ャ は、 Web ブ ラ ウザ を使用 し て ネ ッ ト ワー ク 上の任意の場所か ら
ア ク セ ス で き ます。
手順は次の通 り です ：
1. PC ま たはワー ク ス テーシ ョ ン上で、 Web ブ ラ ウザ を起動 し ます。
2. ブ ラ ウザに ス イ ッ チの IP ア ド レ ス を入力 し 、 Enter を押 し ます。 デバ
イ ス マ ネージ ャ のページが表示 さ れます。
3. デバ イ ス マ ネージ ャ を使 っ て、 基本的な ス イ ッ チの設定やモ ニ タ を実
施 し ます。 デバ イ ス マ ネージ ャ の詳細はオ ン ラ イ ン ヘルプ を参照 し

4. 詳細設定につい ては、次のセ ク シ ョ ン で説明 さ れてい る Cisco Network

コマンドライン インターフェース (CLI)

CLI 経由で Cisco IOS コ マ ン ド と パ ラ メ ー タ を入力で き ます。CLI には PC
か ら 直接ス イ ッ チ コ ン ソ ール ポー ト に接続す るか、 リ モー ト PC ま たは
ワー ク ス テ ーシ ョ ンか ら Telnet セ ッ シ ョ ン を通 じ て接続 し ます。
手順は次の通 り です ：
1. 付属の RJ-45/DB-9 ア ダ プ タ ケーブル を、 PC の標準 9 ピ ンのシ リ ア
ル ポー ト に接続 し ます。 ケー ブルの反対側 を ス イ ッ チの コ ン ソ ール
ポー ト に接続 し ます。

Express 設定 が実行 さ れない、 ま たは Express 設定 のページがブ ラ ウザに
表示 さ れない場合 ：

• Express 設定 を起動す る前に、 POST が正 POST の動作 を確認 し てい ない場合、 SYST お

Usted necesita proporcionar este equipo para ejecutar Express Setup:
• PC
• Cable recto Ethernet (categoría 5) (como se muestra)

Ejecución del Express Setup

Cuando usted configure el switch por primera vez, deberá utilizar el Express Setup
para ingresar la información IP inicial. Esto habilitará el switch para conectarse con
los routers locales y con Internet. Luego podrá tener acceso al switch a través de la
dirección IP para configurarlo con mayor detalle.
Para ejecutar el Express Setup:

Paso 1 Verifique que no haya ningún dispositivo conectado al switch, porque durante el Express Setup, el
switch actúa como servidor DHCP. Si su PC tiene una dirección IP estática, antes de que usted
comience, deberá cambiar la configuración de su PC para que utilice temporalmente el DHCP.
Paso 2 Conecte el cable de alimentación AC al switch y a una toma de corriente alterna con conexión a
tierra. La prueba de encendido (POST) comienza. Durante el POST, los LED parpadearán mientras
que una serie de pruebas verificará que el switch funcione adecuadamente. El comportamiento de
los LED durante el POST es impredecible y podría variar.
Paso 3 Espere a que el switch termine el POST. Podría tomar varios minutos para que el switch termine
esta operación.
Paso 4 Verifique que el POST haya terminado al confirmar que el LED SYST está en verde y parpadeando
rápidamente. Si el switch falla el POST, el LED SYST cambiará a color ámbar.
Los errores de POST son generalmente fatales. Llame a Cisco Systems inmediatamente si su switch
falla el POST.

Paso 5 Pulse y mantenga presionado el botón

switch.)
Paso 7 Conecte un cable recto Ethernet
categoría 5 (no proporcionado) a
cualquier puerto Ethernet 10/100 o
10/100/1000 en el panel frontal del
switch con el puerto Ethernet de su PC.

Paso 8 Verifique que los LED de ambos puertos Ethernet estén de color verde.
Paso 9 Espere 30 segundos.
Paso 10 Inicie el navegador web en su PC.
Ingrese la dirección IP 10.0.0.1 en el
navegador web, y presione Enter.

Paso 11 Aparecerá la página de Express Setup. Si no aparece, vea la sección “Resolución de Problemas de
Express Setup” en la página 7-8 para obtener ayuda. Nota: todas las entradas deben estar en
caracteres anglosajones y números arábigos.

Paso 12 Ingrese la siguiente información en los campos de Configuración de red:

• En el campo de Interfaz de administración (ID de VLAN), el valor por defecto es 1.
Introduzca un nuevo ID de VLAN sólo si desea cambiar la interfaz de gestión a través de la que
se administra el switch y a la cual se asigna la información de IP. El rango del ID de la VLAN
es de 1 a 1001.
• En el campo de Dirección IP, introduzca la dirección IP del switch. En el campo Máscara de
subred, haga clic en la flecha drop-down, y seleccione una Máscara de subred.
• En el campo Puerta de enlace predeterminada, introduzca la dirección IP para la puerta de
enlace (router).
• Ingrese su contraseña en el campo de Contraseña del switch. La contraseña puede ser de 1 a
25 caracteres alfanuméricos, puede empezar con un número y es sensible a mayúsculas y
minúsculas, permite espacios insertados, pero no permite espacios al comienzo o al final. En el
campo de Confirmar contraseña del switch, ingrese su contraseña de nuevo.

Paso 13 (Opcional) Usted puede introducir información de Configuración opcional ahora o introducirla
después usando la interfaz de Administrador del Dispositivo:
• En el campo de Nombre de host, ingrese un nombre para el switch. El nombre del host está
limitado a 31 caracteres; no se permiten espacios insertados.
• En el campo de Contacto del sistema, ingrese el nombre de la persona responsable del switch.
En el campo de Ubicación del sistema, ingrese el armario del cableado, piso o edificio donde
el switch está ubicado.
• En el campo de Acceso a Telnet, haga clic en Habilitar si usará Telnet para gestionar el switch
usando la interfaz de la línea de comandos (CLI, Command-Line Interface). Si usted activa
Acceso a Telnet, deberá ingresar una contraseña de Telnet.
• En el campo de Contraseña de Telnet, ingrese una contraseña. La contraseña de Telnet puede
ser de 1 a 25 caracteres alfanuméricos y es sensible a mayúsculas y minúsculas, permite
espacios insertados, pero no permite espacios al comienzo o al final. En el campo de
Confirmar contraseña de Telnet, ingrese la contraseña de Telnet de nuevo.
• En el campo de SNMP, haga clic en Habilitar para activar el Protocolo Simple de
Administración de Red (SNMP, Simple Network Management Protocol). Active SNMP
solamente si planea gestionar el switch usando CiscoWorks 2000 u otro sistema de gestión
basado en SNMP.
Si usted activa SNMP, deberá ingresar la cadena de caracteres de la comunidad SNMP en el
campo de Comunidad de lectura de SNMP, el campo de Comunidad de escritura de
SNMP, o en ambos. Las cadenas de caracteres de la comunidad SNMP autentican el acceso a
los objetos MIB. No se permiten espacios insertados en las cadenas de caracteres de la
comunidad SNMP. Cuando se configure la comunidad de lectura de SNMP, se podrá tener
acceso a la información de SNMP, pero no se podrá modificar. Cuando se ajuste la comunidad
de escritura de SNMP, se podrá tener acceso y modificar la información de SNMP.
Paso 14 Haga clic en Enviar para guardar sus configuraciones, o haga clic en Cancelar para borrarlas.
Al hacer clic en Enviar, se configurará el switch y se saldrá del modo de Express Setup. Su PC
mostrará un mensaje de advertencia y luego tratará de conectarse con la nueva dirección IP del
switch. Si usted ha configurado el switch con una dirección IP que está en una subred diferente a la
de su PC, se perderá la conectividad entre su PC y el switch.
Paso 15 Desconecte el switch de su PC, e instálelo en su red. Consulte la sección “Administración del
Switch” en la página 7-6 para obtener información sobre la configuración y administración del
switch.
Si usted necesita volver a ejecutar Express Setup, consulte la sección de “Reconfiguración del
Switch” en la página 7-9.

Actualizar la dirección IP de su PC
Después que usted termine Express Setup, deberá actualizar la dirección IP de su PC.
Para una dirección IP dinámicamente asignada, desconecte su PC del switch, y
conéctela a la red nuevamente. El servidor de la red DHCP asignará una nueva
dirección IP a su PC.
Para una dirección IP estáticamente asignada, cambie su PC a la dirección IP
previamente configurada.

Administración del Switch

Después de que haya completado Express Setup e instalado el switch en su red, utilice
el administrador de dispositivos, Cisco Network Assistant, u otra de las opciones de
gestión descritas en esta sección para configuración adicional.

Uso del Administrador de Dispositivos

La manera más simple de gestionar el switch es usando el Administrador de
Dispositivos que está en la memoria del switch. Se trata de una interfaz web fácil de
utilizar que ofrece configuración y supervisión rápidas. Usted puede tener acceso al
Administrador de Dispositivos desde cualquier lugar de su red a través de un
navegador de Internet.
Siga estos pasos:
1. Inicie el navegador de Internet en su PC o estación de trabajo.
2. Introduzca la dirección IP del switch en el navegador, y pulse Enter. Aparecerá
la página del Administrador de Dispositivos.
3. Utilice el Administrador de Dispositivos para realizar la configuración y

4. Para configuración más avanzada, descargue y ejecute Cisco Network Assistant

Cisco Network Assistant

Cisco Network Assistant es un programa de software gratuito que se descarga de
Cisco.com y se ejecuta en su PC. El Network Assistant ofrece opciones avanzadas
para configurar y supervisar múltiples dispositivos, incluso los switches, pilas de
switches, routers, y puntos de acceso.

Interfaz de la línea de comandos

Usted puede ingresar comandos de IOS de Cisco y parámetros a través del CLI.
Acceda al CLI ya sea conectando su PC directamente al puerto de la consola del
switch o a través de una sesión de Telnet de un PC o estación de trabajo remota.
Siga estos pasos:
1. Conecte el cable proporcionado con adaptador RJ-45 a DB-9 a un puerto serie de
9 pines en su PC. Conecte el otro extremo del cable al puerto de la consola del
switch.
2. Inicie un programa de emulación de terminal en su PC.
3. Configure el software de emulación de terminal de su PC para 9600 baudios,
8 bits de datos, sin pariedad, 1 bit de parada, y sin control de flujo.
4. Utilice el CLI para introducir los comandos para configurar el switch. Consulte
la guía de configuración del software y referencia de comandos para obtener más
información.

Otras opciones de administración

Usted puede usar las aplicaciones de gestión de SNMP, como Pequeña Solución de
Administración de la Red de CiscoWorks (SNMS, Small Network Management
Solution) y HP OpenView para configurar y gestionar el switch. También puede
administrarlo desde una estación de trabajo compatible con SNMP que se ejecute en

El registrador de configuración de la serie Cisco IE2100 es un dispositivo
administrador de red que trabaja con agentes CNS integrados en el software del
switch. Usted puede utilizar IE2100 para automatizar las configuraciones iniciales y
las actualizaciones de la configuración en el switch.

Resolución de Problemas de Express Setup

Si no se ejecuta Express Setup, o si la página de Express Setup no aparece en su
navegador:

• ¿Verificó que el POST se ejecutó con éxito antes Si no, asegúrese de que solamente los LED de SYST
de iniciar Express Setup? y de STAT estén de color verde antes de pulsar el
botón Mode para entrar al modo Express Setup.
• ¿Presionó el botón Mode mientras el switch Si es así, espere hasta que termine el POST. Apague
todavía ejecutaba el POST? y encienda el switch. Espere hasta que termine el
POST. Confirme que los LED de SYST y de STAT
estén de color verde. Presione el botón Mode para
entrar al modo de Express Setup.
• ¿Usted trató de continuar sin confirmar que el Verifique que todos los LED ubicados sobre el botón
switch estaba en el modo de Express Setup? Mode estén de color verde. (El LED RPS está
apagado.) En caso de ser necesario, pulse el botón
Mode para entrar al modo de Express Setup.

Reconfiguración del Switch

Esta sección describe cómo reconfigurar el switch al volver a ejecutar Express Setup.
Estas son razones por las que usted podrá desear reconfigurar el switch:
• Instaló el switch en su red y no se puede conectar al mismo porque usted asignó
la dirección IP equivocada.
• Desea borrar todas las configuraciones del switch y asignar una nueva dirección
IP.
• Usted está intentando entrar al modo Express Setup, y los LED del switch
comienzan a parpadear cuando presiona el botón Mode (lo que significa que el
switch ya se ha configurado con la información del IP).

Precaución La reconfiguración del switch elimina la configuración y reinicia el switch.

Para reconfigurar el switch:

Duration of Hardware Warranty

A Cisco product hardware warranty is supported for as long as the original end
user continues to own or use the product, provided that the fan and power supply
warranty is limited to five (5) years. In the event of a discontinuance of product
manufacture, the Cisco warranty support is limited to five (5) years from the
announcement of the discontinuance.

Replacement, Repair, or Refund Policy for Hardware

Cisco or its service center will use commercially reasonable efforts to ship a
replacement part within ten (10) working days after receipt of the Return
Materials Authorization (RMA) request. Actual delivery times can vary,
depending on the customer location.
Cisco reserves the right to refund the purchase price as its exclusive warranty
remedy.

To Receive a Return Materials Authorization (RMA) Number

Contact the company from whom you purchased the product. If you purchased the
product directly from Cisco, contact your Cisco Sales and Service Representative.
