EXPERT FACULTY
Justice Madan B. Lokur, Judge, Supreme Court of Fiji
Hon'ble Mr. Justice Madan B. Lokur was first sworn in as Judge of the Supreme Court of Fiji in August 2019 which was the first time an
Indian Judge got appointed as the Judge of the apex court of another country. He graduated in History (Hons.) from St. Stephen's College,
Delhi University in 1974 and obtained LL.B. degree from Law Faculty, Delhi University in 1977. Justice Lokur was enrolled as an Advocate
in July, 1977 and practiced in the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court. He was appointed as Additional Solicitor General of
India on 14th July, 1998 and continued as such till he was appointed as Judge of Delhi High Court on 5th July, 1999. He served as the
Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court from February to May, 2010. He was Chief Justice of two High Courts in India, i.e. Gauhati
High Court and High Court of Andhra Pradesh, before elevation as Judge of the Supreme Court of India from 4th June, 2012. Justice Lokur
has been a mentor and a constant guide for the Centre for Environmental Law's judicial orientation programs on environment, forest and
wildlife conservation laws.

Justice Deepak Gupta, former Judge, Supreme Court of India


Hon'ble Mr. Justice Deepak Gupta is a former judge of the Supreme Court of India. Justice Gupta obtained his law degree from Delhi
University in 1978. He practised in the High Court of Himachal Pradesh and was appointed Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court on
4th October, 2004. He remained Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Himachal Pradesh twice. He headed the Green Bench of the
High Court for three years. Justice Gupta remained Executive Chairman of the H.P. State Legal Services Authority and the President of the
H.P. Judicial Academy, Shimla for more than three years. He also headed the Committee on Computerization of the Courts in Himachal
Pradesh. He took oath as the first Chief Justice of High Court of Tripura on 23rd March, 2013. He was transferred and took oath as the Chief
Justice of High Court of Chattisgarh on 16th May, 2016. Justice Deepak Gupta was elevated as Judge of the Supreme Court of India on 17th
February, 2017.

Prof. (Dr.) Archna Negi


Dr. Archna Negi teaches at the Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament of the School of International Studies,
Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, India. She teaches courses at the Ph.D and M.A. levels relating to international
negotiations, international organization and world politics and her research interests include issues of international trade and
environment. Dr. Negi has a Masters in Political Science and a Ph.D. in International Law. Her recent publication is an edited volume titled
Sustainability Standards and Global Governance: Experiences of Emerging Economies (Springer, 2020). She is currently a member of
the Voluntary Sustainability Standards (VSS) Academic Advisory Council that has been set up jointly by the United Nations Forum on
Sustainability Standards (UNFSS) and the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies (GGS) of the University of Leuven. She is also a
Member of the International Scientific Advisory Board of the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS).

Adv. Buddy A. Ranganadhan


Mr. Buddy Ranganadhan is an Advocate, Supreme Court of India and Delhi High Court. He has been enrolled as an Advocate on the Rolls of
the Delhi Bar Council with effect from August 1996. He commenced his practice in the District Courts and on the Original and Appellate
sides of the High Court of Delhi and, thereafter in the Supreme Court of India. Adv. Ranganadhan specialises in Civil and Corporate
litigation, Constitutional Law, Arbitration Law, Electricity Laws, Energy and Gas, Maritime Law, Aviation Law, Negotiable Instruments,
Company Law, Consumer Law, Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Law, Competition Laws, Income Tax and Wealth Tax matters in
Supreme Court, Conveyance including Joint Ventures, Shareholders Agreements, International Loan Agreements, Civil Contracts, Trust
Law, Succession Law, Family Law, Matters relating to Transfer of Property law including Tenancies, Rent Control, Labour and Services Law
etc. He has handled numerous matters in various courts such as in the Supreme Court of India, High Court of Delhi, High Courts of

Mr. Krishnendu Mukherjee, Barrister


Krishnendu Mukherjee is a London-based barrister and Indian advocate, working with the most vulnerable and marginalised, especially
from the global south, through his trans-national practice of immigration, environment and business and human rights. He acts for the
rights-holders on ground-breaking litigation in relation to human rights violations and corporate accountability before Indian courts.
Mukherjee also oversees projects designed to provide ethical initiatives, human rights due diligence and remedy solutions, which includes
tackling the issue of modern slavery.

Mr. Rohan Chakravarty


Notorious for rolling up into a ball like a pangolin to avoid answering the phone or meeting people, Rohan is a cartoonist and illustrator
from Nagpur. He is the creator of 'Green Humour', a series of cartoons on wildlife and conservation. Green Humour is the first series of
comics from India to be distributed internationally by a major syndicate (Universal Press' 'Gocomics'), and appears periodically in wildlife
magazines and newspapers. He also collaborates with organizations working on wildlife and conservation to produce illustrated awareness
material. He has won awards by the UNDP, Sanctuary Asia, WWF International, Royal Bank of Scotland and the Green Literature Festival
for his work. He has authored seven books, including Green Humour for a Greying Planet and Naturalist Ruddy. His cartoons have been
displayed at COP26 and COP27.
