JOB PURPOSE

As an SAP Manager specializing in the ABAP module, your job description typically involves
overseeing the development and maintenance of ABAP related development, changes or
customisation within an SAP environment.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Set goals, assess performance, and promote professional growth within the team.
Collaborate with other functional managers and stakeholders to ensure alignment and
efficient delivery of ABAP projects.
Design, develop, and enhance ABAP programs, forms, and reports to meet business
requirements.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to ABAP programs and integrations.
Project Management:
Plan and prioritize ABAP development tasks, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to
project milestones.
Perform regular system monitoring, analysis, and tuning to optimize the performance of
ABAP programs.
Apply patches, upgrades, and enhancements to SAP systems, ensuring system stability
and security.
Conduct code reviews and enforce coding best practices to maintain high-quality ABAP
development standards.
Provide training and knowledge transfer sessions to end-users and fellow team members
on ABAP-related topics.
Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies, trends, and best practices to drive
innovation and continuous improvement.
Overall, as an SAP Manager focusing on the ABAP module, comprising of multiple modules like
FI, CO, MM, PP, SD, EWM, QA, Payroll etc your role encompasses to develop ABAP related
changes and development as per the business need and requirement
MAJOR CHALLENGES

Follow all design work and integration testing protocols, change control procedures, uses
standards, procedures, and practices in performing required work. Analyze current business
processes and make recommendations.

WORK EXPERINACE
§ Participate in requirements gathering discussions with clients and clearly document the
business requirements and perform fit-gap analysis.
§ Document and perform functional testing to ensure the accuracy, scalability, and robustness
of the solution
§ Understanding of modules (For e.g., FI, MM, PP etc.) will be an added advantage.
§ Knowledge of Interface with 3rd Party systems using PO/PI , CPI, CGI
