G OING, GOING G ONE!!!

At last we can see the end to the building work that has been on going since approving the designs in March 2009! The proposed completion date of Spring 2012 seemed so far away we cant believe we are now nearly there. Poor Mrs Deere and Ms Saill have had to put up with cramped, freezing conditions in their metal container are busy counting down the days until they return to their new extended office. Teaching assistants, along with Miss Lambert and Mr Kempster, have been emptying out a storage container and have set up a new resource room in the old Breakfast club room. Staff in Years 3, 5 and 6 have spent all week packing up their classes ready for the movers who arrive tomorrow. By Monday the demolition will start on the last old hut currently used by Year 5. We had a number of hutted classrooms added in the 1970s some to replace temporary classroom huts from 1936! So we will be pleased to see this building go. The junior playgrounds are the only remaining work to be completed after half term. We ask that for the first Monday at least, that the children come into the hall where their class teacher will meet them and take them to their new classrooms!

Brampton Primary is a restorative school where the initial response to conflict is to find a solution where things are put right, the victims needs are met whilst also meeting the needs of the wrong doer and meet all the schools responsibilities.

Children at Brampton are good boys and girls because they play nicely with me. Aneya in RJ Because when we are in the playground we are good at helping people and saying thank you. We make friends up and play with other people so if we dont have anyone to play with we could play with them altogether. Harvey in RB I like playing with my friends, we play it together and we play nicely together. Seb in 1B Our behaviour is good because I see people in the toilet being quiet. People dont run down the corridors. Florence in 1W Our behaviour is good because in assembly were quiet, we listen in class, we walk down the corridors. Jack in 2B Our behaviour is good because we learn, in maths it looks good if we listen, and we then get a raffle ticket, we concentrate and work hard. Valentino in 2PW Behaviour is good because we will sit nicely in assembly, were quiet in lessons and assemblies and we listen to our teachers. We get raffle tickets or in the Gold Book which is the best. Lily and Molly in 3W Sometimes some people are silly and some are good. We have detention if were in trouble. When we are good we get a treat like raffle tickets or certificates or in the Gold Book. I like getting certificates then I feel really happy. Pavleen in 3WH Sometimes they can be but if they dont listen they do wrong things. When we do listen they do the right things and get praised for being good with house points and raffle tickets. Thomas in 4H I think everyone follows the Golden Rules. Then they get better and better at being good in school then we get certificates and in the Gold book. The best thing I like is the raffle tickets. Luke in 4C In my class I dont see people on the behaviour chart and Miss doesnt shout a lot. As I go past other classes I dont hear teachers shouting. Gabrielle in 5B Sometimes people listen to you, sometimes when youre hurt, people come over and ask if youre OK and theyre really kind. Jale in 5C Ive been in this school a long time and I dont think Ive ever seen anyone being mean. Once or twice we get silly things but everyone in my class is friendly. Ronnie in 6M We have loads of discipline, like detention and timeouts. If weve done right things we get treated with golden time and sometimes extra play. Trudie in 6S French We are pleased to offer a Club franais for pre-school children aged 2 to 4 with a parent/carer, ran by an experienced local French teacher and Bexley consultant, Penny Spatz, who has previously run training courses for our staff. The club will run for six weeks and will be offered at the greatly reduced cost of 18 per family. The first course will run on Wednesdays from 22nd February to 28th March, 10.30am 11.15am, with a maximum of twelve children per group. The course is interactive and fun, with lots of songs, games and activities in the French, designed to promote communication skills and engage little learners. If you would like your child to get a feel for another language (French is the modern foreign language we teach here in Key Stage 2!) and to learn at a comfortable pace, then please complete the slip on the letter sent via ParentMail and return it to Mrs Jackson via the school office.

Thank you ParentStaff News We are pleased to have received another Gold Book nomination for Miss Whennell from Mrs Nicklin, who praises her for going the extra mile in supporting Spencer with home learning materials and re-arranging the class timetable so he doesnt miss an assessment due to a prior commitment. If you would like to nominate a member of staff please let us know. FOB News There was a FOB committee meeting last Tuesday. Six parents and four members of staff attended. FOB agreed to kindly donate 1500 towards updating reading scheme books which constantly need replacing due to the amount of wear and tear. They also agreed to donate funds to Miss Wilson to help cover the cost of continuing the Family SEAL work which has proved so popular with current Year 4 and present Year 1 and 2. In order to encourage more parents to attend these meetings it was decided to hold them on the last Thursday in every month, where possible, so the next meeting will be on Thursday 23rd February. Their next event will be a Pamper Evening on Wednesday 14th March just before Mothering Sunday.

BRAMPTON GOLD BOOK Striving to Reach the Best Every week we print the names of those children who have achieved in either their work, conduct or behaviour around school and have been entered in the Gold Book. They have been mentioned in Mondays celebratory assembly. After 3 mentions children receive a bronze certificate, 6 mentions for a silver, 9 mentions for a gold, 12 mentions for a Super Gold and 15 mentions for a Platinum certificate, 18 for Diamond, 21+ for a Head teachers Award and 24 for a Special Head teacher Award and Badge.
