Module 1 Psychological Assessment

Activity (20pts). This activity aims to widen your knowledge on other types of
Psychological test available in western countries and in the Philippines.
1. Give examples of a specific psychological test/s according to Time element. Give at least 2 examples
each. Give a brief description about your chosen test.

• Speed Test
o General Ability Measure for Adults
The GAMA assessment (Naglieri & Bardos, 1997) is a test for
persons aged 18 and over. It is a self-administered, has a time limit
and measures general ability using abstract designs, shapes, and
colors. It is a multiple-choice test with four subtests and a time
limit of 25 minutes.
o Benton Visual Retention Test
The Benton Visual Retention Test (Benton, 1946) is a drawing and
recall activity in which the participant is shown two or three
geometric drawings on cards for a brief period of time and then
instructed to duplicate them from memory. The test evaluates
visual perception, short-term visual memory, and
visuoconstructional skill, and it is graded on the percentage of
correct replicas as well as the type and amount of errors.
• Power Test
o Process Assessment of the Learner 2
The Process Assessment of the Learner-Second Edition
(Berninger, 2007) is a self or group-administered instrument for
evaluating the cognitive functions involved in academic tasks in
kindergarten through sixth grade. The tool helps the evaluator to
determine the causes of underperformance and find interventions
to these issues. The PAL - II is divided into two sections: one for
reading and writing and another for arithmetic.
o Kaufman Adult Intelligence Test
The Kaufman Adult Intelligence Exam (KAIT; Kaufman &
Kaufman, 1993) is a theoretically based IQ test that measures both
adolescent and adult intelligence while also providing clinical and

neuropsychological data for people aged 11 to 85. KAIT is

composed of a Core Battery and an Expanded Battery. The Core
Battery has six subtests and the Expanded Battery has four
additional subtests.
• Test without Time Limits
Beck Depression Inventory
The Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) is a 21-item
questionnaire designed to assess the severity, depth, and
intensity of depression in people with mental disorders. The
BDI long version consists of 21 questions or items, each with
four alternative answers. The intensity of the symptom is
indicated by a score ranging from zero to three for each answer.
Items 1 to 13 are for psychological symptoms, while items 14
to 21 are for physical symptoms.
Millon Adolescent Personality Inventory
The Millon Adolescent Personality Inventory (MAPI)
instrument is created by Dr Theodore Millon, Catherine J.
Green, and Robert B. Meagher Jr. on 1977. It has 150- items
that can be ansered by true or false. It's been tested on both
normal teenagers and adolescent patients. Personality types,
expressed worries, and behavioral patterns are the three scale
dimensions outlined in the questionnaire.

it.
• Panukat ng Katalinuhang Pilipino
The PKP is a test created by Aurora R. Palacio (1991) to assess a Filipino
adult's cognitive capacity based on his verbal and non-verbal abilities. It
consists of four subtests, each of which is timed separately and assesses the
following areas of human intelligence: language, analogies, and numerical
ability.

PPP is a personality test developed by Dr. Annadaisy Carlota for

respondents aged 13 and up. This is used to evaluate 19 qualities that were
grouped into three categories: Porma K/Form K is made up of
interpersonal traits, Porma S/Form S is made up of personal attributes,
and Porma KS/Form KS is a cluster of intelligence and creativity.
Percentiles and standardized scores are two forms of norms for the PPP.
