1. PURPOSE

 To outline the procedures for the application of external paint to the building phase 5, city walk,
Dubai. ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to the project specifications.

2. SCOPE

 This method statement covers the application of external paint on elevations, balcony walls, slab
soffits, and EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) for Golf Gate Tower B.

 Project Technical Specification and drawings (Section 099100).

 Approved Project Quality Plan.

5. RESPONSIBILITIES

5.1 The Construction Manager is responsible for implementation of this Method Statement and shall
ensure that his team of Engineers and Foremen are familiar with the method statement and all the
resources (human, material and equipment) that are available to carry out the associated work as
planned and without any delay.

5.2 The Project Engineer is responsible to carry out the works as per the approved shop drawings,
method statements, specification and other Contract documents. He is also responsible to ensure that
suitable equipment for the concrete placing, finishing and curing operations are in place and ready for
use well in advance of commencement of the related works.

5.3 The QA/QC Manager is responsible to ensure that the works are done as per the approved method
statement, specification and drawings; inspections shall be carried out as per the Inspection and Test
plan and offered for inspection by the Engineer

5.4 The Safety Manager is responsible to ensure that all Safety precautions are in place, and that all
personnel on site are using the required Personal Protective Equipment such as Helmet, Gloves, Shoes,
and Coveralls. He shall also ensure that all relevant permits are obtained for the works as per the
requirements of the UAE Authorities.

6. MATERIALS

 Option 1 : 1 Coat Capaacryl Primer / 2 Coats Flexoshield ( MEDIUM TEXTURE )

 Option 2 : 1 Coat Capaacryl Primer / 2 Coats Flexoshield ( FINE TEXTURE )

 Option 3 : 1 Coat Capaacryl Primer / 2 Coats Flexotop ( SMOOTH TEXTURE )

 Option 4 : 1 Coat Capaacryl Primer /1 Coat Capagrain / 2 Coats Flexotop ( MEDIUM TEXTURE )

 Option 5 : 1 Coat Capaacryl Primer / 2 Coats Flexoguard ( SMOOTH TEXTURE )

 Option 6 : 1 Coat Capaacryl Primer / 2 Coats Flexoguard ( MEDIUM TEXTURE )

8. WORK PROCEDURE
Option 1: Medium Texture (1 Coat Capaacryl Primer / 2 Coats Flexoshield)

1. Site Preparation:

 Inspect the area for safety hazards.

 Set up scaffolding and ensure stability.

2. Surface Preparation:

 Clean surface thoroughly.

 Sand down any rough patches.

 Fill cracks and holes with appropriate filler.

 Allow filler to dry and sand smooth.

 Dust off the surface and wipe with a damp cloth.

3. Priming (Capaacryl Primer):

 Mix the primer well.

 Apply primer evenly with brushes or rollers.

 Ensure all surfaces are covered with no misses.

 Allow to dry as per manufacturer's guidelines.

4. First Coat of Flexoshield (Medium Texture):

 Mix the Flexoshield paint thoroughly.

 Apply evenly, ensuring texture consistency.

 Let dry for the recommended time.

5. Second Coat of Flexoshield:

 Apply the second coat for uniform texture.

 Ensure coverage of edges and corners.

 Let it dry completely.

6. Finishing Touches:

 Remove any masking tape used.

 Clean up spills and splatters.

 Inspect for uniformity and texture.


Variations for Other Options

 Option 2: Fine Texture (1 Coat Capaacryl Primer / 2 Coats Flexoshield)

 Similar steps as Option 1.

 Adjust the application technique to achieve a fine texture with Flexoshield.

 Option 3: Smooth Texture (1 Coat Capaacryl Primer / 2 Coats Flexotop)

 Follow the steps of Option 1.

 Use Flexotop for a smooth texture finish.

 Option 4: Medium Texture (1 Coat Capaacryl Primer / 1 Coat Capagrain / 2 Coats Flexotop)

 After priming, apply a coat of Capagrain before applying Flexotop.

 Follow the remaining steps as in Option 1, adjusting for the application of Flexotop.

 Option 5: Smooth Texture (1 Coat Capaacryl Primer / 2 Coats Flexoguard)

 Same as Option 1 but replace Flexoshield with Flexoguard for a smooth texture.

 Option 6: Medium Texture (1 Coat Capaacryl Primer / 2 Coats Flexoguard)

 Similar to Option 1, with the application of Flexoguard to achieve a medium texture.

9. HEALTH AND SAFETY PROVISIONS

 Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

 Adherence to scaffolding and height work safety standards.

10. DISTRIBUTION

Copies of this method statement have also been issued to the following for information/
action/comments:

• Construction Manager and Construction team.

• HSE Engineer.

• QA/QC Engineer.
