✅Attitude - Many of you believe that it’s too hard to pass aptitude tests & indeed you fail

them. Change
of attitude is the first step for anyone who is ready to take a major leap in their career & life generally. I
want to confirm to you that it is indeed true that people have mastered these tests & score above
80%.So kindly revise the targets you are working with. Remember to aim for the moon & if you must fail,
at least hit the stars.

✅Preparation - There is no shortcut to passing other than thorough preparation. This involves knowing
the type of questions to expect which normally revolve around verbal ability & comprehension of the
English language, numerical ability e.g algebra, sequences, trigonometry etc, logical reasoning, puzzles
etc. One prominent website for those in preparation is “ indiabix.com “ with quite a variety of sample
questions & online trial tests. Don’t say nobody cared to share!

✅ Confidence - After so many hours of preparation, why again are you scared?? All other people are
equally anxious but be the one who confidently stands up to the test, ready to exhaust their greatest
potential & take the best possible score. Everyone in the room is just like yourself but you need to go a
few steps ahead of them with extra confidence.

✅Attempt all numbers - It’s no brainer that you won’t know everything no matter how genius you
maybe, at least time will come in to disappoint!! Kindly remember to relax & throw a guess at any
objective answer if you try & completely fail to find rationale for selecting a particular option. Never
know, you could guess right & earn yourself an extra 5%.

This is what I can point out off head while on my journey. Good luck to you all 🙏. Let the others also add.

Cheers,
Esther

Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) in the industrial sector is crucial for ensuring the well-
being of employees, protecting the environment, and complying with regulatory requirements.
Here’s a detailed guide on the key components and best practices for industrial EHS:

Key Components of Industrial EHS

1. Environmental Protection

 Pollution Control: Implement measures to reduce air, water, and soil pollution. This
includes emission controls, waste management, and spill prevention.
 Resource Management: Optimize the use of resources such as water, energy, and raw
materials to reduce environmental impact.
 Sustainable Practices: Incorporate sustainable practices like recycling, renewable
energy usage, and minimizing waste generation.

2. Health Management

 Occupational Health: Monitor and promote the health of employees through regular
health check-ups, wellness programs, and stress management.
 Hazardous Substance Control: Manage and control exposure to hazardous substances,
including chemicals, dust, and biological agents.
 Ergonomics: Design workstations and job tasks to reduce strain and prevent
musculoskeletal disorders.

3. Safety Management

 Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential
hazards in the workplace.
 Safety Training: Provide ongoing safety training to employees to ensure they are aware
of workplace hazards and know how to handle them.
 Incident Reporting and Investigation: Establish a system for reporting, investigating,
and addressing workplace incidents and near-misses.

Best Practices for Industrial EHS

1. Develop an EHS Management System

 ISO 14001 and ISO 45001: Implement international standards for environmental
management (ISO 14001) and occupational health and safety (ISO 45001) to establish a
comprehensive EHS management system.
 EHS Policies and Procedures: Develop clear EHS policies and procedures that align
with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

2. Engage Leadership and Employees

 Leadership Commitment: Ensure top management demonstrates a commitment to EHS

by providing the necessary resources and support.
 Employee Involvement: Involve employees in EHS initiatives through safety
committees, suggestion programs, and regular communication.

3. Continuous Improvement

 Performance Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure EHS

performance and identify areas for improvement.
 Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to ensure
compliance and identify potential hazards.
 Corrective Actions: Implement corrective actions promptly to address identified issues
and prevent recurrence.

4. Emergency Preparedness

 Emergency Plans: Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response plans for
potential incidents such as fires, chemical spills, and natural disasters.
 Training and Drills: Conduct regular emergency drills and training to ensure employees
are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies.

5. Compliance and Reporting

 Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with local, national, and international EHS
regulations and ensure compliance.
 Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of EHS
activities, incidents, and compliance efforts.

By incorporating these key components and best practices, industrial organizations can create a
safer, healthier, and more environmentally responsible workplace.

Risk assessment
Risk assessment is a critical part of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management. It
involves identifying potential hazards, evaluating the risks associated with those hazards, and
implementing measures to control or eliminate the risks. Here’s a detailed guide on conducting
risk assessments in EHS:

Steps in EHS Risk Assessment

1. Identify Hazards

 Workplace Observations: Inspect the workplace to identify potential physical,

chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards.
 Incident Records: Review past incidents, near-misses, and accident reports to identify
recurring hazards.
 Employee Feedback: Engage with employees to gather insights on potential hazards
they encounter in their daily tasks.

2. Determine Who Might Be Harmed and How

 Employee Groups: Consider different groups of employees, including full-time, part-

time, contractors, and visitors.
 Exposure Pathways: Identify how these groups might be exposed to the hazards (e.g.,
inhalation, skin contact, ergonomic strain).

3. Evaluate the Risks

 Likelihood and Severity: Assess the likelihood of each hazard causing harm and the
potential severity of the consequences.
 Risk Matrix: Use a risk matrix to categorize risks based on their likelihood and severity,
typically ranging from low to high risk.

4. Implement Control Measures

 Hierarchy of Controls: Apply the hierarchy of controls to mitigate identified risks:

1. Elimination: Remove the hazard completely.
2. Substitution: Replace the hazard with a less dangerous one.
3. Engineering Controls: Implement physical changes to the workplace to reduce
exposure (e.g., ventilation systems).
4. Administrative Controls: Change work procedures or schedules to reduce
exposure (e.g., job rotation, training).
5. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Provide PPE to protect employees when
other controls are not feasible.

5. Record Findings and Implement Them

 Documentation: Record the findings of the risk assessment, including identified hazards,
risk evaluations, and control measures.
 Action Plan: Develop an action plan to implement the control measures, assign
responsibilities, and set timelines.

6. Monitor and Review

 Ongoing Monitoring: Regularly monitor the workplace to ensure control measures are
effective and hazards remain controlled.
 Review Assessments: Periodically review and update risk assessments, especially after
significant changes in the workplace, new processes, or following an incident.

Best Practices for EHS Risk Assessment

1. Involve Employees: Engage employees in the risk assessment process to leverage their
firsthand knowledge and increase their commitment to safety.
2. Use Structured Methods: Employ structured methods like Job Safety Analysis (JSA),
Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP), and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
(FMEA).
3. Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices
related to EHS risk management.
4. Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement where risk
assessments are regularly revisited and updated based on new information or changes in
the workplace.
5. Training and Communication: Ensure that employees are trained on the risk
assessment findings and control measures and that there is clear communication
throughout the organization.

By following these steps and best practices, organizations can effectively identify and mitigate
risks, ensuring a safer and healthier workplace.

Rafiki yangu alikuja nyumbani,
Kunielezea shida Fulani,
Ati alifukuzwa kazini na hajui atafanya nini,
Mke wake amemutoroka,
Rafiki zake wanamcheka,
Shida amepata nyingi amechoka,
Dunia anajuta.

Acha kulia, shida za dunia,

Hebu tulia mungu anakujali pia,
Acha kulia, shida za dunia,
Hebu tulia mungu anakujali pia,

Maisha mwendo ni pole,

Ukipata shida leo usikonde,
Wengi wako kama wewe usijali,
Acha kulia ni Maisha makali,
Tazama kwanza uone kesho,
Usikonde uwape kichekesho,
Maisha itakuwa na matatizo,
Uombe mungu, atakupa uwezo,

Acha kulia, shida za dunia,

Hebu tulia mungu anakujali pia
Acha kulia, shida za dunia,
Hebu tulia mungu anakujali pia,

Hizo shida usifikirie uko nazo pekee yako,

Labda mungu anakuletea kesho,
Huwezi jua kama leo sio yako,
Kwa hiyo, masikini usikonde,
Labda kesho utapata,
Mungu alipanga maisha kakaraka,
Tunapanga naye anapanga,
Shida za dunia ni nakwambia.

Acha kulia, shida za dunia,

know what to do, His wife has left him, His friends are laughing at him, He has faced many troubles and
he's tired, He regrets the world.

Stop crying, the troubles of the world, Just calm down, God cares for you too, Stop crying, the troubles
of the world, Just calm down, God cares for you too,
Life is a slow journey, If you face trouble today, don't give up, Many are like you, don't worry, Stop
crying, life is tough, First, look ahead and see tomorrow, Don't give up, make them laugh, Life will have
its problems, Pray to God, He will give you strength, Stop crying, the troubles of the world, Just calm
down, God cares for you too,

with your problems, Maybe God is bringing you tomorrow, You can't know if today isn't your day, So,
don't lose heart, poor one, Maybe tomorrow you'll get it, God has planned life in His own way, We plan,
but He plans too, The troubles of the world, I'm telling you. Stop crying, the troubles of the world, Just
