"The Influence of Social Media on Student Mental Health"

GRASPS METHOD
 Social media has taken on an unavoidable role in students' lives in the current digital era,
affecting their mental health and forming their social interactions. Social media can be a
source of community and connection, but students' mental health may suffer as a result of
its ubiquitous presence and the constant pressure to project the ideal online image.
Goal
 Enabling students to use social media in a balanced and healthful manner in order to
lessen the detrimental effects it has on mental health.
Role
 Student advocate who collaborates with parents, teachers, and community leaders to
encourage social media usage in a positive way.
Audience
 The target audience includes students, parents, educators, and school
administrators.
Situation
 Students' lives now revolve around social media, but because of its constant presence and
the pressure to project a perfect online image, anxiety, insecurity, and a warped sense of
reality can result.
Product/Performance
 I create educational workshops that are interactive and targeted at educators, parents, and
students. The topics include understanding the psychology of social media use,
identifying stress signs related to social media use, and creating healthy online habits.
Standards
Measure success by:
 Increased awareness: Understanding social media’s impact.
 Improved habits: Less screen time, attentive interaction, and in-person relationships.
 Reduced anxiety: Lower stress levels.
 Improved academics: Increased concentration.
I truly believe that, through this program empowers students to use social
media positively and protect their mental health.
