What does learning box work consist of?
The "learning box" methodology is a teaching approach that is based
on the idea of providing students with a series of resources or tools (called
"boxes") that contain materials, examples, and activities related to a
specific topic. These "boxes" may include textbooks, videos, exercises, sample
projects, and other educational resources.
The main idea is that students have access to a variety of resources that allow them to learn in a self-
directed manner and at their own pace. They can explore the materials in the “boxes” according to their
individual needs and preferences, encouraging independence in learning and choice.

How are we going to implement it this time?

The “learning boxes” methodology is a versatile educational approach that can be
implemented in a variety of ways. One of the common ways to use
this methodology is to assign each team of students a specific topic to study.
For example, each group can be assigned a period of history and the
boxes can rotate through all the teams so that at the end everyone has worked on
the selected periods or the variant that we are going to use because it is the first time
we are carrying out this educational strategy.
The whole class will work on the Olympics, but each team will work on a specific aspect of this topic and
when they have completed this research, they will prepare a presentation on everything they have learned in
their box. This exhibition will be held first in the classroom and, taking advantage of the fact that the
Olympics are the central theme of the school this year, an exhibition will be held for the rest of the students
at the school.
The choice of how to implement the "learning boxes" methodology depends on
the teaching objectives and the preferences of teachers and students. In
this case, starting with a central topic such as the Olympics serves as an effective introduction
to this methodology before expanding to other topics in the future.

Other important aspects

In this case, the children who are going to make the boxes have been making learning landscapes
for 3 years, so in the boxes we wanted to give it one more twist. Normally
, the links we provide them go directly to a specific video that helps them
address the situation at hand, for example: if they have to make a timeline with relevant
aspects of the Olympics, they are provided with a link to a video where
this aspect is dealt with and a timeline template.
On this occasion, as they are in sixth grade, and have been doing landscapes for 3 courses, they have
to look for the information, investigate, write it down in the dossier and make the timeline with the material
they want, Canva, continuous paper, cardboard, etc. On the other hand, they are
provided with research magnifying glasses that take them to Wikipedia, Olympic pages,
Google or YouTube, but in a general way.
If they are younger children or not used to doing research, it would
be a good idea to prepare a direct link or template to make their work easier.
