at this early stage of your studies, it helps to have some
idea of what those roles and jobs might be
• There is a wide range of roles and job in ICT and related
industries
• Often times, similar roles have different names and vice versa

At the completion of this topic, you should be able to:
• Explain the SFIA Framework and how it can be used in
professional development
• Understand and describe some of the more common roles in
IT
This topic contributes to the following Unit Learning
Outcomes:
• LO2: Demonstrate written, oral and interpersonal
communication skills.
• LO5: Understand and apply the rules of academic integrity, by:
• adhering to the principles of referencing and applying a citation
method to these principles; and

- There have been changes in ICT since then (really???)
- Some are reflected in the most recent version of SFIA (7), for example:
- Asset Management (ASMG)
- Data Visualisation (VISL)
- Demand Management (DEMM)
- Knowledge Management (KNOW)
- Measurement (MEAS)
- Organisational Capability Development (OCDV)

- Possibly the most well known is seek.com.au
