Tournament Format

1st Round:

· 7 matches: 7 winners advance.

· Draw among 7 participants (who did not win 1st round / Defeated Participants), One player’s
name is drawn out and advanced to the quarterfinals.

Quarterfinals:

· 8 players (7 winners +1 drawn out name) compete in 4 matches.

· 4 winners advance to the semifinals.

Semifinals:

· 4 players compete in 2 matches.

· 2 winners move on to the finals.

Finals:

· 2 finalists compete for the championship title.

Prizes: Trophy will be awarded to winners and certificates to Participants


Chess Rules

1. Game Setup:

o Each player must set up their pieces correctly and ensure both players agree on the board
position before starting.

2. Moving Pieces:

o Players must move their pieces according to the rules of chess. Any illegal move must be
corrected immediately.

3. Touch-Move Rule:

o If a player touches a piece, they must move it if it is legal to do so.

4. Clock Management:

o Players must manage their time using the provided chess clocks. If a player’s time runs out, they
lose the game, unless the opponent does not have sufficient material to checkmate (leads to a draw)

5. Arbiters:

o The arbiter is the authority during the tournament and will handle any disputes and ensure fair
play. Teams should consult the arbiter for any rule clarification

6. Fair Play:

o All players are expected to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and respect towards
opponents and officials.
