An Experimental Investigation to Evaluate the Effect of Ethanol Blended Diesel Fuels on Performance and Emission of a C.I Engine

This study investigates the effects of ethanol-diesel blends on the performance and emissions of a single-cylinder diesel engine. The experiments show that while the performance parameters slightly decrease with increasing ethanol content, emissions of carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides significantly reduce. The findings suggest that ethanol can be a viable alternative fuel to improve emission characteristics in diesel engines.
