b) Draw a straight-line graph from the following table of values: (2 marks)

c) Write the equation of the line with a slope of 2 and a y-intercept of -3. (2 marks)
d) Find the equation of the line passing through points (1, 5) and (3, 1). (2 marks)

perpendicular, or neither. (2 marks)

Q2. Quadratic Functions (10 Marks)


a) Sketch the graph of the quadratic function y = x² - 4x + 3. Label the vertex and any
intercepts.(2 marks)
b) Given the quadratic equation x² - 5x + 6 = 0, interpret the roots graphically and
algebraically. (2 marks)
c) Find the y-intercept of the quadratic function y = 2x² + 3x - 5 and interpret its meaning.(2
marks)
d) Determine the turning point of the quadratic function y = -x² + 6x - 8 and describe its
nature (maximum or minimum).(2 marks)
e) Solve the quadratic equation 2x² + x - 1 = 0 graphically. (2 marks)

a) Identify the function as linear, quadratic, cubic, or exponential: y = 3x³ + 2x² - 5x + 1. (2
marks)
b) Sketch the graph of the cubic function y = x³ - 2x² - x + 2. Label any key points.(2 marks)
c) Describe the behavior of the cubic function y = - x³ + 4x² - 2 as x approaches positive
and negative infinity.(2 marks)
d) Find the roots of the cubic equation x³ - 3x² + 4 = 0 graphically.(2 marks)
e) Determine the turning points of the cubic function y = x³ - 3x + 2.(2 marks)
