the learner will guess the word based on
the given pictures.

2. Side
2. __ __ __ __

c. Activity
The teacher will present video
presentation about polygons and its
classification according to its side. Polygons

What do you think the video

presentation all about?

d. Analysis
In line with our discussion, the answer
in your activity is our lesson for today
which is about polygons.

Polygon
 Came from the Greek word “Poly”
which means “many” and “-gon” (Subject
which means “angle” Integration:
 A closed plane figure formed when HISTORY)
three or more non-collinear line
segments that lies on the plane
intersect at their endpoints.
 Has straight sides and the vertices
and sides can’t have any breaks.

I have here illustrations of figures and

shapes, based on the definition of
polygons can you identify which figures
or shapes are polygons and not
polygons? Polygons

Not Polygons

In classifying polygons, we use prefix

to identify the number of sides.
Prefix is an affix which is placed (Subject

Classification of polygons according
to its number of sides

1. Triangle- a 3-sided polygon

5. Heptagon- a 7-sided polygon

6. Octagon- a 8-sided polygon

7. Nonagon- a 9-sided polygon

8. Decagon – a 10-sided polygon
