MRI foot

The MRI report for patient Mahipal Ji indicates a well-defined multi-lobulated mass in the left forefoot, measuring approximately 70x55x55 mm, which encases the shafts of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th metatarsals and their tendons. The mass shows characteristics suggestive of a benign lesion, possibly a tendon sheath giant cell tumor (GCT), with no other abnormalities noted in surrounding structures. Further clinical correlation and investigations are recommended for a comprehensive assessment.

MRI REPORT – LEFT FOOT (P+C)

TECHNIQUE:

Multi parametric MRI was done using T1, T2 & STIR sequences in multiple planes. Post contrast T1FS
images were taken.

OBSERVATION:

There is a well-defined multi-lobulated heterointense mass lesion measuring about 70x55x55 mm (

APxTRAxSI) seen in the forefoot. It is completely encasing the shafts of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th
metatarsals and tendons of these digits. The lesion is causing extrinsic scalloping and remodeling
of the shafts of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th metatarsals. The lesion appears hypointense on T1W and hyper
intense on T2/STIR images and shows homogeneous post contrast enhancement.

Rests of the metatarsals appear normal. No abnormal STIR hyperintensities noted.

The calcaneum, talus, navicular, cuboid and the cuneiform appear normal.

No fracture seen.

No fluid collection is seen in any of the tendon sheaths.

The Achilles tendon appears normal.

The lower end of the tibia and fibula appear normal.

IMPRESSION:

 MRI findings are s/o benign mass? Tendon sheath GCT.

ADV: CORRELATION WITH CLINICAL FINDINGS AND RELEVANT FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS MAY BE MORE INFORMATIVE.
