PART – G

Impact of the pollution abatement measures taken on conservation of natural resources and
on the cost of production

 Industry is reusing most of the condensates in the process thereby reducing the load on
the ETP and less requirements of fresh water consumption.
 Industry is using biomass as source of energy for the boiler furnace. Being a renewable
source, the industry is trying to conserve the fossil fuel.
 Industry has adopted the CHP for the process. It is giving optimum thermal efficiency and
reducing the thermal load on the atmosphere.
 Integrated MEE operation has eliminated the impact of spent wash on the environment
and simultaneously produces high protein cattle feed.
 Biomass based flyash utilization in the fields is improving the soil fertility of the farmers.

of pollution, prevention of pollution

PART – I

Any other particulars for improving the quality of the environment

a. Regular monitoring of process stack emissions once in three months and regular monitoring
of ambient air quality around the complex by an accredited MoEF recognized laboratory is
being carried out. The results of stacks as well as ambient air quality monitoring are well
within the standards prescribed by CPCB/SPCB.

b. Work zone environment monitoring for VOC’s and noise at various locations inside the factory
premises and the ambient noise level at different locations around factory premises is carried
out. The results of monitoring conform to the limits prescribed.

c. All the wastewater generated within the factory premises is given primary/secondary
treatment and then recycled for process use or to cooling towers as part make up water. The
domestic effluent is treated in Septic Tank and the treated domestic effluent used in the
factory premises for plantation purposes.

d. Every effort is made to reduce the generation of effluent/emission/wastes at the source itself
and to explore the possibility of reusing/recycling of the wastes that are generated.

e. The ash generated in our factory as a part of the solid waste is stored as per norms and is
distributed to the farmers around in the area for their indigenous use in farms.

f. Maintenance of green area in around 80000 m2 around the distillery unit is done. The waste
water after treatment and achieving the requisite standards is being used for the maintenance
purpose of the green area.

g. Rain water harvesting is being implemented with full throttle in the unit. All the infrastructural
need are complied with and the water is hence being conserved by the industry.

h. A full-fledged laboratory with necessary facilities is dedicated to the process emission analysis
and abetment of the pollution thus. Samples from the ETP are regularly examined the
efficiency of the ETP is thus monitored.

i. Besides all of this, managerial staff is dedicated with the overall charge of environment
management functions and implementation of the environment management plan. The senior
upper management of the industry indigenously scrutinizes the management plan
implementation and is sincerely committed towards conservation of environment.
