Relative humidity

The document provides multiple definitions and formulas for calculating relative humidity, emphasizing its relationship with water vapor in the air. It explains relative humidity in terms of mass, actual water vapor, absolute humidity, water vapor density, and partial water vapor pressure. Each formula illustrates how relative humidity is expressed as a percentage of saturation at specific temperatures.

Definitions of Relative Humidity

Relative humidity = Mass of water vapour in a certain volume (m ) × 100%

Mass needed to saturate the same volume at the same temperature.( M )

Relative Humidity = Actual amount of water vapour in air (absolute humidity) X 100

Humidity at saturation point (the maximum water vapour air can hold at a given T)

Relative Humidity = Absolute humidity at room temperature X 100

Absolute Humidity at Dew point

Relative humidity = Water vapour density at room temperature ×100%

Saturated water vapour density at room temperature

Relative humidity = Partial water vapour pressure ×100%

Saturated water vapour pressure at room temperature

Relative humidity = Water vapour pressure at dew point ×100%

Saturated water vapour pressure at room temperature
