Summary

Jimin is a forest wolf that gets seperated from his pack during a fire. Doctor Jeon Jeongguk
takes care of the omega and offers to help him finding his parents and a place to stay.
In the midst of everything they fall in love, but their future is uncertain.

really like how it turned out.

 Hospital

Panacea: all-healing in Greek, today used to refer to something that could fix everything
The first thing Jimin remembers when he wakes up is the heat, the smell of smoke burning in
his nose and how his father was shouting his name.

He tries to open his eyes but immediately closes them again when he's blinded by bright
light.

His whole body hurts, especially his head and he hears machines beeping and working
around him.

Jimin tries to open his eyes again and it takes him a moment to get them used to the
brightness. He carefully looks around since he has no clue where he is. The room has white
walls, two chairs in front of the wall opposite to the bed he's currently laying in. Then he sees
all the machines next to him and gulps.

Jimin is a forest wolf and has been living there for his whole life. Nature is his home and he's
only been outside of it a few times. It was mostly when they needed to visit a doctor so at
least he's now aware that the place where he is must be a hospital. But he has always hated
how it looks and especially the smell. His nose that is used to soft nature scents is heavenly
overstimulated now in a room that smells way too clean.

Jimin tries to remember what has happened and why he's currently laying in a hospital bed.
And then everything comes back, his mind is flooded with horrible pictures.

It was a nice late summer day when he and his pack were out of their little houses and
preparing everything for fall and winter. Jimin was collecting some herbs and branches,
enjoying the warmth of the sun during one of the last days of late summer. It has always been
his favourite time of the year, when leaves are starting to fall down and the air smells like
autumn already. But suddenly the air started to smell like smoke instead and soon the
cracking of burning wood was flooding his ears.

It wasn't the first time they experienced a forest fire so they tried to pack their most important
things and leave their homes as soon as possible. But this time the fire was fast and in the
span of only a few minutes the place was surrounded by fire.

Everyone was running around, trying to escape. The air was filled with smoke so Jimin could
hardly see anything, running around blindly and trying to follow the voice of his father. But
the longer he tried the more smoke started filling his lungs until he fell to the ground fainting,
the last thing he heard was the desperate voice of his father.

Silent tears are falling down Jimin’s face and all he wants to do is to hide underneath the
blanket and pretend that this isn't real. He doesn’t know in which hospital he is, where his
family and pack is and how much time has even passed. It only hurts to think about what
could've happened to his loved ones and what if they aren't alive anymore.

Suddenly the door to his room opens a nurse coming in, probably wanting to check on him.
"Oh you're finally awake!" she says but wrinkles her nose the next moment. The room must
be filled with the scent of smoke and rain caused by Jimin. His normal sweet vanilla and
cinnamon scent is probably completely gone.

She carefully walks over to him with a look of sorrow on her beautiful face.

"Hey, everything's fine, you're safe now! I will get a doctor, okay?" And then she disappears
just to come back a few minutes later with someone next to her.

It's a man, probably at the same age as Jimin. He's tall, has dark wavy hair, his face has a
strong and beautiful nose, soft lips but the thing that actually catches Jimin’s attention are his
eyes. They're big and round, looking at Jimin with such softness that he at least for a second
forgets what is currently happening.

“Ah, you’re awake!” The man says with a big smile on his face while he approaches Jimin
and stops next to his bed.

“I know this all must be super confusing, but I want to let you know that you’re safe! My
name is Jeon Jeongguk and I’m your doctor. Do you remember what happened before you
came here, maybe even your name?”

Jimin slightly nods but is afraid to speak. He knows exactly what has happened but voicing it
out loud makes it real and he can’t pretend anymore that this is a dream.

“Could you leave us alone for a moment?” his doctor asks the nurse when he notices what’s
probably going on in Jimin’s mind. The young woman nods with a smile and leaves the room
before Jeongguk grabs one of the chairs at the wall and places it next to Jimin’s bed. He sits
down comfortably and waits a moment before he speaks again.

“I don’t want to pressure you to talk but I kinda need to know what you remember. You’re
safe here, just take your time okay?”

Jimin nods again and closes his eyes. He takes a deep breath, finally something else flooding
his nose than the steril hospital scent. It’s just the slight smell of dark chocolate, not very
prominent but still there. After living in the forest for his whole life Jimin’s nose is really
sensitive to other scents than natural ones like wood, flowers etc. It was a big surprise for
everyone that he has such a unique scent for a forest wolf. Everyone else in his pack smells
like nature, his father for example like a rainy forest and his mother like daisies. But he just
smells like vanilla and cinnamon, so sweet that he always stands out from the rest of his
pack.

But Jeongguk’s dark chocolate scent is very welcoming at this moment, calming his senses a
bit and helping him to relax.

The blonde omega takes another deep breath before he finally answers.

"My...my name is Jimin. I'm a forest omega and my pack...we were preparing for the colder
seasons when there was a fire suddenly and...everything went so fast. I lost my family and
there was so much smoke...too much. I couldn't breathe anymore and the next thing I
remember is waking up here…" Jimin explains while again silent tears are streaming down
his face.

Jeongguk gulps even when he already kinda knows who Jimin is and what has happened. But
he needs to test his memory and how much he remembers.
“Jimin, again everything’s fine! We’re here to help you!” He tries to calm the omega down.

“Do...do you know where my pack is? How much time has even passed?” Jimin carefully
asks even if he’s not sure if he wants to know the answer.

“Sadly we don't know exactly where your family is since your pack is spread over different
hospitals around the country,” Jeongguk admits. “But as far as I know most of them are alive.
We got a little information from the rescue team but it wasn’t much because none of you is
registered anywhere. We still can try and help you to find your family and pack! But it will
take some time, since we don’t have any names and some of you are still out there in the
woods.”
Jimin stares at him with big glassy eyes and tries not to sob because hearing these words just
hurts a lot. If he’s lucky his family will be in a hospital and it will be easy to find them but
there’s a possibility that they’re still out there searching for him and the rest of the pack. Or
they’re...not even alive anymore.

Jeongguk smells how Jimin’s scent gets even sadder and all he wants to do is to help the
omega and release calming pheromones. But he’s his doctor and has no right to do so, it
would cross every possible line.

“Jimin, I promise you that we will do anything possible to help you but now you need to
focus on your recovery!”

“Why?...” Jimin whispers.

“Well...you were unconscious for nearly two months because when you passed out your head
hit a stone.

This at least explains why Jimin’s head hurts so much. Suddenly he starts breathing faster,
feeling like there’s not enough air in the room. Two months is a long time regarding the
possibilities of what could’ve happened to his family and pack.

“Hey, Jimin...look at me,” Jeongguk tries to calm him down and hesitates a moment before
he places his hand gently on Jimin’s.

He first expects the omega to refuse the touch but instead without knowing why it helps the
omega to relax.

“Try to take some deep breaths for me, okay? You’re not alone, we’re here to help you.”
Jeongguk gently says.

And indeed Jimin takes a few deep breaths and closes his eyes, trying to focus on it and not
on the horrible pictures in his head. Just when he opens his eyes he registers the hand on his
own, the way it’s much bigger and completely engulfs it. Normally he doesn’t like to be
touched by anyone outside of his pack, especially alphas but now he’s okay with it. Probably
more than okay since the touch has helped him to calm down. Maybe it’s the warmth that
radiates from Jeongguk’s skin or the fact that the alpha has been so careful around him, trying
to make a safe environment for the omega. But in the end all that counts is that Jimin feels
like he can trust the doctor.

“Do I have any other injuries?”

Jeongguk nods slowly. “Yes, your leg got injured because a piece of wood fell on it. But it’s
nothing too big and will heal in a few weeks. You just shouldn’t walk around too much and
try to rest as much as you can. Also it seems like you don’t have any memory issues so you
were very lucky!”

Jimin is glad to hear that because it means he won’t need to stay in the hospital for too long.
But it brings up another question, where should he go after being released? He doesn’t know
where his loved ones are, the place where they live is probably burnt to the ground and he
knows no one here in the city. Which city is he even in? And what about the hospital bills? In
the past his parents were barely able to pay for the times they went here and now he’s been
here for two months already. Another wave of panic raises inside of him and he’s starting to
feel dizzy.

“Jimin, what’s wrong?” Jeongguk immediately asks when he notices.

“I..I don’t know where to go and….I can’t pay for anything, I don’t have any money!” Jimin
explains and starts crying again.

Jeongguk gently rubs his thumb over Jimin’s hand and gives him a soft smile.

“We’ll figure something out okay? This isn’t the first time forest wolves need our help and
we’re always willing to help! Also, don’t worry about money, we already took care of that
and decided that we do all of this for free.”

“Wow...thank you…” Jimin says with tears in his eyes. He’s already so thankful for
everything the people here are doing for him, especially the alpha doctor in front of him.

But processing all of this is still too much for the omega at the moment. His head still hurts
and he just woke up an hour ago. There are so many questions in his head and he’s still afraid
to find the answers to them. But at least Jeongguk’s words have helped him to feel a bit better
and like there’s hope left.

“I’ll let you sleep a bit more okay? Just press the red button on the wall if you need anyone.
Also, if you want me to come again just ask one of the nurses, I’m here for the rest of the
night,” Jeongguk says with a gentle smile.

Just now Jimin looks outside of the window and realises that it’s probably in the middle of
the night. He nods and for the first time smiles at Jeongguk as well.

“Okay, thank you for...everything…”

“There’s really no need to thank me! It’s my job to help others. Now sleep, I’ll see you
tomorrow morning,” Jeongguk stands up and Jimin is maybe a bit sad when the alpha’s hand
leaves his own. “Good night Jimin.”

“Good night.”

Jeongguk then leaves the room and turns the lights off. Jimin looks out of the window again
before he closes his eyes and hopes for a better world in his dreams.

Jeongguk plops down next to Seokjin on the sofa in their break room and sighs.

“What’s wrong?” The older one asks.

“It’s the forest omega. He’s finally awake…”

“Oh, really? How is he? Can he remember anything?”

“Sadly he remembers everything. I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s good that there’s no
memory damage, but from what I’ve heard from the rescue team the situation in the forest
must’ve been really bad. They told us that nearly everything is burnt down and that they’re
still out there trying to find the rest of the pack.”

“Oh shit. That sounds horrible, especially since now some of them are spread in hospitals all
around the country. They don’t know anyone here and aren’t used to this kind of life.”
Jeongguk nods and sighs again. “Exactly! And the worst part is that the omega is so worried
and I don’t know how to help him!”
“Well you’re his doctor, just help him to recover. And as a human you can be there for him,
listen to his worries, and make sure that he doesn’t feel too alone.” Seokjin suggested.

“Are you sure? Don’t you think that would cross a line?”
The older alpha shakes his head. “Not really. We’re all humans after all. And especially as
doctors, we’re here to help other humans with their physical and mental health.”

“You’re right,” Jeongguk agrees. “I just hope we can find his family soon…”

“I’m sure they will! Don’t worry about it too much. I’ve already talked with Tae about it and
he said that his pack was once in a similar situation. He said that in the end everything turned
out well.”

Seokjin’s mate Taehyung is a forest wolf as well. But when he was 18 years old he decided to
leave his pack and move to the city. His dream has always been to live here and not to stay in
the forest for the rest of his life. His parents weren’t happy about it, but they still accepted his
situation since they love their son. So Taehyung moved to the city and started working at
random jobs there. After two years someone scouted him, and today he’s one of Korea's most
famous models. Along the way he met Seokjin and it didn’t take them long to fall in love,
mating only a year later and still being happily together.
They had exactly the kind of relationship Jeongguk has always dreamed of, but he never
found the right person. He had a few relationships the last few years, went on a lot of dates,
but it was never what he really wanted. At some point he just gave up and decided to wait
until he’ll meet the right one.

Now he’s 26 and still single, longing to find someone that will love him the way he is. But as
a doctor he’s so busy with his work that it’s hard to even find enough time to go on a date.

But talking about Taehyung brings an idea up in his head.

“Hyung, do you think it’s possible that Tae maybe could visit Jimin one day? He’s an omega
and forest wolf as well.”

“Mh…” Seokjin just hums and sips on his iced americano. “I could ask him if you want to.
But you should talk to Jimin as well. But if you want to have my opinion about it, I think it
could be really helpful. We all grew up in the city and we don’t know what he must be going
through, so Tae is the only one who can understand and help him.”

“That’s what I thought as well! Thanks hyung, I owe you one!” Jeongguk says with his
biggest smile.

“I will keep that in mind.” The other alpha smirks and then gets up. “Sadly my break is over,
I’ll let you know what Tae said. See you later!”

“See you!” The younger one replies before Sekojin leaves the room.

Jeongguk sinks back more into the couch and closes his eyes.

He can still remember the moment when the rescue team brought Jimin into the emergency.
He was covered in Ruß and on his face was and clothes had a lot of blood. Luckily his head
injury wasn’t too bad but because of the amount of smoke he must’ve breathed it took his
body some time to recover.

After they’ve cleaned Jimin’s face the alpha could look at his bare face for the first time. He
was immediately astonished by how beautiful the omega was. His blond hair, soft skin, pretty
button nose and full lips. It was like he couldn’t take his eyes off of him, like he has never
seen another omega before.

When they told Jeongguk what had happened he was so sorry for the poor boy because it was
the second time since he started working as a doctor that forest wolves were brought into a
hospital in the city. It doesn’t happen that often, but from time to time they need help, and it
takes them a lot to ask for it. They’re proud of themselves and the life they have, but since
curel companies started getting greedy for wood from the forest, living in nature has become
harder. Nowadays there aren’t even many packs out there in the woods, maybe five to ten, but
the city wolves are always willing to help them, at least the ones who are like Seokjin and
Jeongguk.

He just hopes that they’ll find a solution for Jimin’s situation, a place where he can stay until
they find his family. And until then he will do his best to help the omega. Even if he’s only
Jimin’s doctor, he’s a human as well, and since Jeongguk was little he always felt the need to
help others.

Jimin doesn’t wake up until the next morning and this time he already feels a bit better. His
body, especially his head, still hurts, but he feels a bit more like himself.

The first thing that comes to mind is to ask for the nice doctor from yesterday. Maybe he got
new information about his pack and family. He hesitates a moment before he presses the red
button, and only a few moments later, the nurse from last night appears.

“Good morning, Sir! Do you need any help?” she asks with a smile.

“Yeah uhm...could I talk to the doctor from last night?”

“Doctor Jeon? Sure, I will ask him. Anything else that you need? I could bring you some
breakfast and something to drink.”
“Yes, that would be nice,” Jimin replies with a shy smile, finally noticing how hungry he is.

“Okay, I’ll be back in a few minutes!”

The moment the nurse comes back with a tray in her hands and places it in front of Jimin, he
gulps. This isn’t the food he’s used to. In front of him is some kind of bread, and some other
stuff he has never seen before. He still thanks the nurse before she disappears again.

So Jimin uses the knife and spreads some of the weird mixture onto the bread. When he tries
it he’s kinda surprised by the taste at first but then decides that he actually likes it.

When he’s nearly done with his food the door opens again and the young doctor walks into
the room.

“Good morning, Jimin!” he says cheerfully. “I hope you slept well. And I see you’re eating
something already, that’s good.”

Jeongguk sits down on the chair that still stands next to his bed from last night and crosses
one leg over his knee.

“So, you wanted to talk to me?” he asks, cocking his head to the side.

Jimin swallows his last bite and nods. “Yeah, I wanted to ask if there is any news from my
pack to be honest.”

“Sadly no. But I promise we’ll inform you as soon as we know something. But I also wanted
to ask you something as well,” the alpha reveals.
Jimin looks at him in surprise, but keeps listening. “The mate of one of the other doctors is a
forest wolf and omega as well. I asked him to ask his mate if it’s possible to visit you
so...yeah, so you have someone to talk to. You don’t need to agree, but we thought it could be
a bit lonely here.”

The opportunity to talk to another forest wolf sounds like heaven to Jimin. Even if he doesn’t
know the other omega he’s sure that he can understand what Jimin is going through and will
maybe have some good advice.

“That sounds good. But I don’t want to be a burden for him! He must be busy with his work,”
Jimin replies. As a child he learned that the work of city wolves is different from their own.

Jeongguk just laughs and shakes his head. “Ah, don’t worry! He’s not that busy at the
moment, and I’m sure he would love to help you. Let me just talk to doctor Kim and I’ll let
you know when his husband can visit you, okay?”

“Yes, okay.” Jimin says with a shy smile.

“I need to leave you know, but I’ll come back later and we’ll discuss the next steps of your
recovery. Just rest a bit more until then.” Jeongguk stands up and walks to the door. “See you
later,” he says with a smile and then leaves the room.

Jimin sighs and sets the tray with the food on the table next to his bed before he lays back
down comfortably.

So far everyone here has been so nice and understanding. When he woke up he was afraid
and didn’t know what to do. But now it seems like the next few days won’t be too bad. Still,
he needs to find out where his family and pack is. This is the first time in his life that he’s
been separated from them for such a long time. He already heard stories from other packs that
were forced to flee because of a fire and that sometimes many wolves die in the flames. Jimin
never thought this would happen to his pack as well. His worst fear is that his parents and
little sister died and he will never see them again. But when he fell unconscious it seemed
like they were still alive, so he hopes that they could flee and are out there in the woods, or in
a hospital like Jimin is. The omega just can’t imagine a life without them.

The only thing he can do now is to stay strong, be patient, and no matter how hard it will be,
trust the people taking care of him.

The next days are quite uneventful for Jimin.

Most of the day he's laying in bed, sleeping a lot, but one of the nurses brought him some
books. Even if he grew up in the forest, they still had two teachers in their packs and went to
the city to buy some books from time to time.
Sometimes Jeongguk visited Jimin as well, whenever he wasn't too occupied with other
patients.

Jimins mind was still full with various thoughts regarding the wellbeing of his family and
pack. He tried to not show it too much but on the inside he was nervous and anxious. Every
night he cried silently because all he wanted was just to go back home, to see his loved ones
again. But he knows that his home isn't there anymore, the flames have destroyed everything
at the place they lived at for so many years.

At least he got some good news this morning. Jeongguk has told him that some of his pack
members are in Seoul as well, three to be exact. The rest are in other cities, like Busan and
Daegeu.

Sadly he couldn't see them, not that soon, since their condition was much worse than Jimins'.
One is still in a coma, another suffering because the flames burned some parts of his skin.

Jeongguk still offered that when they're all in a better state he could visit them and that he
would arrange a call with the pack members in other cities.

Sadly this also means that Jimin’s family are either still in the woods -- or in the worst case
scenario, they're dead.

But the chance of seeing and talking to at least a few of his pack members helps him to stay
strong, to not to cry every time he thinks about his family.

Jimin is currently laying in bed and reading one of his books when Jeongguk enters the room.
It's already late outside, and Jimin knows that now that many patients are going to bed the
alpha will have a bit more time.

The omega doesn't know why, but he likes his presence. Jeongguk’s big, warm eyes make
him feel as comfortable and safe as he can in the current situation. As a forest omega he's
strong and learned early on how to deal with rude alphas, but Jeongguk isn't even a bit like
that. He's always super careful around Jimin and knows when the omega needs time for
himself.

But after being alone in his room for most of the day, it's nice to talk to someone for a few
minutes.

"Good evening, Jimin! How was your day?" The alpha asks with a smile, and sits down in the
chair.

"It was okay." Jimin smiles as well, trying to hide what is going on in his mind. "I hope your
day wasn't too stressful."
Jeongguk smiles and shakes his head. "Don't worry! It was fine, nothing major happened
today. And I have good news for you!"

"Really?" Jimin asks with big eyes, his heart beating faster.

"Yep," Jeongguk nods. "I talked to Doctor Kim's mate and he would love to visit you! He
asked if tomorrow would be okay for you?"

Jimin nods eagerly. He really needs to talk to someone who can hopefully understand him a
bit better. It's not that Jeongguk and the rest here aren't any help, but they are still city wolves.

"Perfect!" the alpha says with a smile. "He'll be here around 3pm and told me that he can stay
as long as you want to."

"Thank you! Really, this means a lot to me!" Jimin says, so grateful for everything Jeongguk
has done for him so far.

"Ah, there's really no need to thank me!"

Jimin is sure there's a faint blush adorning Jeongguk’s cheeks. It's kinda cute, making him
look much younger. The omega has already figured out that the alpha must be around his age,
maybe even a bit younger. He had always thought that at the age of 28 he would already be
mated to a wonderful alpha, maybe have one or two pups; but he still just hasn’t found the
right one.

"No really, all of you are so nice to me and I wish I could do something to thank you."

"Jimin, this is our job. We're here to help others, no matter their rank or where they're from."
Jeongguk explains. "I know that city and forest wolves are different, but there are still some
similarities. Especially in situations like these, we shouldn't let stereotypes affect us."

Jeongguk says exactly what Jimin has thought his whole life. He likes the way he lives, but
that doesn't mean a life in the city isn't good or better. He hates how some wolves from other
forest packs talk about the ones from the city and is glad that his pack isn't like that. One
member even came from the city and decided that he prefers a life in nature. There are also
some city wolves that look down on wolves like Jimin; they think they're dumb for choosing
the natural life, and that they're just afraid to face a different reality.

So Jimin nods and smiles, grateful that Jeongguk is the good kind of city wolf.

Jimin is very nervous to meet Doctor Kim's mate the next day. It's been a long time since he
met an omega that moved from the forest into the city. He's also somewhat curious to find out
how it must be to completely change the way you live.
He’s just sitting in his bed when there's a knock on the door before a person around the same
height as Jeongguk enters the room.

This must be Taehyung.

He has handsome and unique features, different from what you’d expect from an omega, and
has black wavy hair that fits perfectly to his face. Jimin immediately needs to admit that he's
one of the most beautiful humans he has ever seen.

With a big smile on his face, the omega approaches Jimin’s bed.

"Hey, I'm Kim Taehyung, Doctor Kim’s mate," the man introduces himself.

"I'm Jimin," he replies with a smile as well, and notices that up close Taehyung is even more
beautiful.

The other omega sits down in the chair Jeongguk normally sits in and folds his hands in his
lap.

"I heard that your recovery is going well. I talked to my mate and Jeongguk about what
happened to you, but if it's okay I would let you decide what you want to tell me."

This is exactly what Jimin needs in his current situation, someone who gives him enough
space so he can just talk.

"Thank you. It's just...it's hard to talk about it. Sometimes it still feels like a dream and that I
will wake up any minute," Jimin explains, looking down.

Taehyung sighs and nods. "Yeah, in these situations it's normal to wish they weren't true. I
can't say that I 100% know how you feel, but something kinda similar happened to my pack a
few years ago."

"Oh, really? What happened?" Jimin asks with concern in his eyes.

"Well, it was a weird summer and it rained nearly every day. But one day so much water was
coming down that the place where we lived was completely flooded. We all could flee fast
enough but our home was still destroyed. It took us months to build everything anew at a
different place, and after that some wolves even decided to leave our pack."

Jimin gulps when he hears what happened, since this means some members could leave his
pack as well. He would totally understand it, because living in the forest has become more
difficult over the years, but they're still one big family.

"I'm sorry to hear that. It must have been a really hard time."

"It was," Taehyung agrees. "But in the end everything turned out well. We had a new home
and this time it was a bit safer."

Hearing that helps Jimin’s anxiety a tiny bit. He knows it will be a long way until their life
can go back to normal, but one day what happened will be in the past.
"Jeongguk told me that you left your pack. It's okay if you don't want to talk about it,
but...I'm curious to know why," Jimin carefully says.

"Ah don't worry! There isn't a bad reason behind it and I'm fine with talking about it. I mean
the reason I'm here is so you have someone to talk to," the omega chuckles. "The reason why
I left my pack wasn't the flood or that I absolutely hated the way we live. But since I was
little I just wanted more, you know? We visited the city a few times and I was always
astonished by how beautiful it can be. All these high buildings, lights, and the way it was so
different from what I was used to made me want to be here as well. I was debating over it for
several years, asking myself if it was just curiosity, or maybe the place where I really belong.
So when I turned 18 I talked to my parents and they allowed me to move here."

Jimin looks at him with big eyes, impressed by how confident Taehyung was at such a young
age.

"But wasn't it hard to leave your pack behind and super scary to move here? I mean normally
we don’t have much money."

Taehyung chuckles again. "You're totally right. It wasn't easy to leave the life I was used to,
but luckily we knew some people here where I could stay at first. I started working at
different jobs but one day I got lucky and someone asked me if I'm interested in modeling. At
that time I didn't really know what the job of a model even is, but when I found out more
about it I decided to give it a try. Turns out that I'm really good at it and soon I could pay for
my own apartment and become independent.”

“Wow...that sounds amazing! You can be really proud of yourself!”

“I am!” Taehyung says with a big smile. “And then I also met Seokjin...oh sorry, I mean
Doctor Kim,” Taehyung chuckles. “He’s really different from the alphas in my old pack, and
exactly what I was always searching for in a partner. Do you have a partner?”

Jimin shakes his head and sighs. “No. I mean I would love to have one, but you probably
know it isn’t that easy to find someone out there. I met a few alphas from other packs, but
they never fit.”

“I totally get what you mean!” Taehyung exclaims. “I mean, yes, some of them are nice, but
many still have this weird stereotype of how an omega should be. They just want someone
pretty that can give them enough pups, but never care about the fact that we maybe aren’t
ready for a family that soon.”
“Oh my god yes! Once an alpha asked me after one hour we spent together when I wanted to
have pups and said he definitely could imagine having ones with me.”
“Eww,” Taehyhung crumples his nose. “Those are the worst ones! Mister, no I won’t let you
near my body until I’m 100% sure you’re the right one!”

“Exactly!” Jimin agrees. “I just wish I would find someone like my mom did,” he sighs. “You
know, my dad is so kind and has always supported her decisions. He never pushed her and
waited until she was ready.”
Thinking about his parents made Jimin’s mood shift drastically. He just loves them and his
little sister so much, and wants nothing more than to see them again. The omega is still so
scared that something bad has happened to them, and the waiting is nearly killing him.

He has tried to be patient and positive for a few days but now he can’t hold it back anymore.

Jimin starts sobbing, tears streaming down his face and he curls in on himself.

It just hurts. Thinking of all the possibilities of what could have happened make him anxious.

“Jimin, what’s wrong? Did I say something wrong?” Taehyung asked, super alarmed. The
room is filled with the scent of sour rain while Jimin’s sobbing is increasing.

“Jimin?”

“I-” He starts to speak, but it feels like there isn’t enough air in his lungs.

“Oh my god, okay wait,” Taehyung says before he stands up. He sits down next to Jimin on
his bed, and without asking, he pulls the omega into his arms. With soothing motions, he rubs
a hand over Jimin’s back, trying to calm him down.

“I’m here, you're safe. Let it all out,” he whispers.

It’s the first time since the fire happened that Jimin is so close to another human. But he tries
to focus on Taehyung’s soft almond scent and the calming pheromones he’s releasing.

He sinks further against the other omega and cries desperately against his chest, his tears
wetting the soft material of Taehyung’s shirt.

Jimin just keeps crying, the horrible images of the day when he lost everything flooding his
mind.

“Pshh, I’m here. No matter what happens, you aren’t alone.” Taehyung says. He means what
he says 100%. He definitely knows how scary the city can be, and would never leave another
forest wolf on his own, especially not if he’s an omega. Yes they’re strong, and learned how
to defend themselves while living in nature, but here in the city there are still some people
that want to hurt you and don’t have any boundaries.

Suddenly someone opens the door. Jeongguk walks in, but stops as soon as he sees what’s
going on.

“What...Tae…” he says, and feels how his heart clenches when he hears Jimin’s desperate
cries.

“Out!” the other omega just says in a low tone, making Jeongguk leave them alone again.

It takes several more minutes until Jimin’s sobs quiet down.

He’s so thankful that Taehyung is there for him, that he finally has someone like him, and he
feels like he can really trust the omega. There’s just something about him that screams
comfort and safeness.

“Jimin, can you talk to me?”

The omega slowly pulls back a bit and looks up to Taehyung with swollen eyes, tears still
leaving his brown eyes.

The latter smiles at him and gently brushes a few strands of blond hair behind Jimin’s ear.

“Are you a bit better?”

Jimin sniffs and nods. “Yeah, sorry it’s just...thinking about my parents,” he says as another
sob leaves his throat.

“It’s okay. I understand that thinking about them must hurt, but I’m sure they’re fine okay?
Jeongguk told me that so far it seems like nobody died. Forest wolves are strong, we know
how to survive out there!”

“Yeah...But what if they’re hurt? What if they’re searching for me while I’m here?” Jimin
asks, and wishes he could just stand up and leave.

“I’m sure they’re searching for you but they also know you’re strong. You will see them
again, but for now you need to focus on yourself and your recovery, hmm?” The other omega
says, gently brushing the tears on Jimin’s cheeks away. “I know we barely know each other, I
just got here an hour ago. But I promise you that I will help you! Omegas need to stay
together, right?”

Jimin nods and pulls Taehyung into a tight hug. “Thank you so so much! This is the first time
in days that I can finally allow myself to be hopeful.”

Taehyung smiles and gently pats Jimin's head. "You really don't need to thank me! I'm glad I
can help."

Jimin smiles as well and breathes in Taehyung's comforting almond scent. Sometimes in your
life you just meet people you immediately feel like you can trust, and Jimin decides that the
other omega is one of them.

"Do you want to sleep a bit? I mean I can stay longer if you want me to, but you must be
exhausted."

Jimin sighs and pulls away from Taehyung's warm embrace. "Yeah, sleep sounds good," he
admits with a tired smile.

"I will visit you again tomorrow, okay?"

The blond omega nods eagerly and lays back down.

Taehyung stands up and walks over to the door. "See you!"

"See you," Jimin answers. Taehyung leaves the room, and he falls asleep without being
anxious for the first time since he woke up in the hospital.

"You're such an idiot!" Taehyung exclaims when he joins Jeongguk in the waiting room.

"What? Why?!" the alpha asks, confused, looking up from his phone.

"You should've asked me sooner. Poor Baby…" Taehyung sighs and sits down next to
Jeongguk. "He cried so much, he must have been feeling horrible for days."

The alpha looks down at his lap and fumbles with his phone. "I already assumed that, but
everytime I asked him he told me he was fine."

"Yeah, sure. He can't be fine when he's constantly worried for his pack and family," the
omega explains. "We need to help him!"

Jeongguk looks at his friend and raises an eyebrow, not knowing what exactly he means. "We
already do that here, Tae."

"That's not what I mean!" Taehyung shakes his head. "I mean when he’s allowed to leave the
hospital. I don't want him to stay in a shelter or something like that. But he can't stay at our
place either. At the moment we don't have a room left...but you do." The omega smirks.

"Tae, no!" Jeongguk immediately replies. "I can't let a stranger stay at my place, especially
not a forest omega."

Taehyung rolls his eyes and crosses his arms in front of his chest.

"Jeon Jeongguk, listen to me. For someone like him, being in the city alone can be super
scary. But in addition to that, his whole pack could've died in the fire, so he needs help. He
needs a safe place where he can stay and get used to the situation. And someone has to keep
an eye on him and make sure he's okay. I think you're perfect for it! Your apartment is huge,
and there's enough space he can have some for himself. I'm sure it won't be for too long, but
he needs our help. I can come over every day and you can help him find his parents. I'm
begging you, please do it. I promise you won't regret it!"

Jeongguk sighs and leans back.

Technically, Tae is right. Jeongguk has a big apartment, and if he's being honest, many times
when he comes home from the hospital he feels lonely there. Don't get him wrong, he's glad
he has such an amazing job and earn enough money to allow him to have a nice, big
apartment, but money isn't everything. His friends and family, and the fact that he can help
others, have always been more important to him. And that's exactly what Taehyung is asking
him to do, help Jimin. But Jeongguk isn't sure if it's a good idea to let an omega live with
him, or if Jimin even wants to. He would never force him to agree since they're still complete
strangers; and many omegas don't like being alone with an alpha, since many of them don't
know any boundaries. But since Jeongguk was little, he has always been different from them.
Maybe it's because his mother raised him by herself, and he learned to respect omegas; or
maybe it's just the way he is. Jeongguk has never in his life used his power as an alpha. Every
time he has been with an omega he made sure to be careful and never put any pressure on
them. The relationship Taehyung and Jin have is exactly what he wants as well, someone who
understands and accepts him the way he is.

He knows that many alphas are different when it comes to things like this, so he was kind of
afraid when his mom found a new alpha. But luckily the man is a wonderful human, and he's
glad that his mother has found someone like him.

Maybe Jeongguk will be that lucky one day as well.

Until then, he tries his best to be a good human, which also means he should think about
helping Jimin.

"Okay, I’ll do it. You're right, he deserves our help, and it’ll probably only be for a short time
anyways. Also, you need to promise that you’ll help me and I can call you whenever I need
you!"

"I promise!" Taehyung agrees with a big smile. "And thank you!"

"Ah, shut up!" Jeongguk chuckles. "You know I can't say no to you."

Taehyung chuckles as well and rests his head on Jeongguk’s shoulder. "I know."

"Oh and you need to talk to Seokjin, I’ll only do it if he agrees!" Jeongguk says since Seokjin
is the oldest one of them and has a better view on some things.

"I will, don't worry," Taehyung rolls his eyes.

"But we still need to ask Jimin. I don't know if he’ll be comfortable with staying at my
place."

"Don't worry, I have this feeling that he’ll agree," Taehyung smirks, and Jeongguk decides to
no to ask further.

When Jimin wakes up again the next day, he feels better thanks to Taehyung. He can't wait to
see the omega again, since he still has so many questions he wants to ask him.

But when Taehyung visits him again, he isn't alone. Jeongguk is with him.

"Oh, Doctor Jeon, is something wrong?" the omega asks, a bit worried.
"No, everything's fine!" Jeongguk smiles. While Taehyung sits down next to Jimin on his
bed, the alpha takes his usual chair.

"We want to ask you something," Taehyung explains, and carefully takes Jimin's hand in his
bigger one. "I know this seems unusual, but do you remember how I told you yesterday that
when I moved to the city some friends helped me out?"

Jimin nods slowly, even more confused.

"Please don't think we're some weirdos, but I talked to Jeongguk and my mate, and we really
want to help you. They told me you’ll be in hospital for at least another two weeks, but I
assume you already asked yourself where you should stay after that."

Jimin indeed has thought about that a lot, and is scared that he’ll have to live on the streets or
a weird place. He doesn't have any money or know anyone he can ask for help.

"This may sound scary," Taehyung says carefully, "but we thought you could stay at
Jeongguk’s place."

Jimin stares at Taehyung with big eyes, not knowing what to say. Then he looks over to
Jeongguk and sees how the alpha smiles at him shyly.

"What…" he just whispers in the end.

"Listen, you don't need to accept the offer, we would never pressure you. But I have a big
apartment where you can have a room all by yourself, and I won't be there for most of the day
anyways. Taehyung could visit you whenever you need him. It's just that we really want to
help you, and until we find your parents you should have a nice place to stay."

"I…This is really nice of you, but I don't have any money…" Jimin says.

"Jimin, you don't need to pay anything!" the other omega explains. "This big soft alpha earns
enough that you don't need to worry about that. It's just that I know how confusing life here
can be as a forest omega, and I would never forgive myself for not offering you this!"

"Yes. And I know I'm an alpha, but I promise I won't do anything that makes you feel
uncomfortable!" Jeongguk promises.

"You can trust him, Jimin. And if he doesn’t behave I will take care of it!" Taehyung says
with a smile.

"Wow...thank you. It's just...can I think about it a bit more and give you an answer
tomorrow?"

"Sure!" Taehyung and Jeongguk both immediately agree.

"Okay, thanks," Jimin smiles shyly.

"You don't need to thank us, this is the least we can do and we would love to help you!"
Taehyung says, gently rubbing his thumb over Jimin’s hand. "Just let us know your decision
tomorrow and we can discuss everything else then."

“Okay, sounds good,” Jimin agrees, happy that they understand his hesitation.

Later that night Jimin thinks a lot about their offer. After Tae stayed until it was very late,
they talked a lot and had dinner together. The other omega told him many stories, about
Seokjin’s and his first date, their beautiful marriage, and more about his job as a model. Even
if Jimin never wanted to have a life in the city for himself, Tae’s sounds like a dream to him.
He has a job he loves and a perfect mate, someone who deeply cares for him. The omega has
answered every question Jimin had and was super open in general. He really wants the blond
omega to trust him, and he again said that he would love to help him out. Taehyung also
talked about Jeongguk and how kind he is. To him the alpha is one of his best friends,
someone he would trust his life with. And it’s true, Jeongguk has been nothing but kind and
understanding to Jimin, always making sure that the omega has everything he needs.

And to be honest, even if Jimin agrees now he still needs to stay in the hospital a bit more, so
he’ll have time to get to know Jeongguk and Taehyhung a bit better. If he then isn’t 100%
sure this is the right thing to do, he’s sure he can just tell them and hopefully find another
place to stay.

So before he falls asleep, he decides that he will accept the offer.

As soon as Jeongguk visits Jimin the next day, he tells him that he decided that he’s okay
staying with him, and the moment he does, the alpha blushes a bit. But he also says that he
wants to get to know him and Taehyung a bit better, which Jeongguk immediately agrees to.
After that they go through Jimin’s recovery plan for the next two weeks. He has
Krankengymnastik at least once a day, and they still need to check his brain one more time.
Jeongguk explains why they need to do this, but that in two months he should be fully healed.
But this also means the alpha needs to help Jimin at his home, which makes the omega a bit
nervous.

“Uhm, I know that we have nurses here that take care of me...but how do we do it when I’m
at your apartment?” Jimin approaches the topic.

“Well,” Jeongguk blushes again, “I talked to Taehyung, and he will be there most of the day
at first so you can just ask him. And you know I’m still a doctor, so I learned how to do the
work of a nurse as well, you really don’t need to worry about that! Taehyung will prepare
most things at my home for you because he knows what you probably need, and if there’s
anything missing you can just tell us. But really, don’t worry about these things, we’ll figure
it out when the time comes.”
Jimin agrees, but is still glad Jeongguk is willing to answer all the questions he has and that
Taehyung will be there as well. Now he just needs to focus on his recovery and to get to
know them better.

Chapter Summary

Jimin comes home with Jeongguk.

The day Jimin is due to be released from the hospital, he’s excited and afraid at the same
time.

Over the last two weeks Taehyung has visited him nearly every day, sharing so many
personal things that it already feels like they could become friends soon. They again joked
about dumb alphas, talked about their families and living in the forest, and how annoying
heats can be. Jimin is glad that he had his last heat only a week before the fire, so he doesn’t
need to worry about having one while staying at Jeongguk’s place.

The omega even bought him some clothes, which Jimin first wanted to decline; but when he
realised that he has nothing besides the few things the hospital gave him, he finally accepted
them.

It wasn’t much, just a few shorts, shirts, pullover and sweatpants. So when he got ready for
the day this morning, he changed into his new clothes for the first time, deciding for a comfy
look consisting of a cozy sweater and sweatpants.

Luckily, over the last two weeks Jimin has learned to at least walk short distances, but his leg
still needs some more time to heal. The physiotherapy has helped a lot, and maybe also the
fact that sometimes Jeongguk took a walk with Jimin in the hallway.

He still remembers that one night where there was nearly nothing to do, and instead of trying
to sleep Jeongguk had decided to visit Jimin, who couldn't sleep either.

There's a sudden knock at his door before someone opens it slowly.

"Jimin? Are you awake?" Jeongguk whispers.

"Yes," the omega laughs. "You can come in."

With a big smile on his face, Jeongguk approaches Jimin and sits down in his chair.

"I was hoping for you to be awake, I can't sleep," the alpha pouts. Jimin can't stop the giggle
escaping his mouth; seeing this big alpha being upset because he can't sleep is too cute.

"Why? I mean aren't you tired from working?"

Jeongguk shakes his head and sighs. "Normally, yes, but I don't know. But why are you
awake?" he asks, tilting his head.

Jimin looks down at his hands and fumbles with his blanket.

"I don't know, I guess my head is just too full…" he admits. It's not that he thinks he can't
trust Jeongguk, but there has always been something holding him back from talking freely
with the alpha.

"I understand," the doctor mumbles. "But uhm...did talking with Tae help you?"

The omega smiles thinking about him. Talking to him has helped a lot, since Taehyung just
understands how Jimin feels. Sharing stories about their lives has helped keep him from
going insane since he still doesn't know where his family is.

But yesterday at least he could finally talk to someone from his pack. He cried a lot, but
Taehyung just sat next to him while gently rubbing his back in comforting motions. The pack
member, Jaehyung, had told him that he and his family are fine and that Jimin shouldn't
worry. He also said that he already talked to other pack members and that most of them are
fine. Until now only Jimin’s family, a couple, and a young female alpha are still missing, but
Jaehyun said he's sure that all of them are fine and that Jimin’s family is strong.

It helped to hear that, to stay hopeful.

And it also helped that Taehyung was there, holding him after the call until Jimin stopped
crying.

"Yes, Tae is helping me a lot!" Jimin finally answers.

"I'm glad to hear that," Jeongguk smiles. "But I hope he didn't tell you any embarrassing
stories about me!"

"Maybe," the omega giggles. "I won't say anything."

Jeongguk rolls his eyes and mumbles something about hating Taehyung sometimes, but Jimin
knows that they're close friends and the alpha doesn't mean it like that.

"So what should we do now?" The alpha changes the topic.

"What do you mean?"

"Well we both can't sleep so….we could play a card game!"

"Card game?" Jimin tilts his head in confusion.

"Oh…" Jeongguk mumbles. "I'll get one one explain it to you!"

Without giving the omega a chance to answer, Jeongguk leaves the room to get a card game
for them.
When he's back he moves Jimin's bed side table into the right position and starts separating
the cards for them.

"So…" he begins.

It doesn't take long until Jimin understands it and has fun playing it.

They play for nearly two hours, talking about different things while playing. For the first
time, Jimin reveals a bit about how his life in the forest is and Jeongguk shares some stories
about his college time.

At some point, Jimin is too sleepy to continue playing, and Jeongguk leaves him to get some
rest as well.

The omega has really enjoyed spending some time with him and getting to know the person
behind the doctor title a bit better. Everything that Taehyung has told him about Jeongguk
seems to be true so far; he's a really nice and funny person, just someone you can easily get
along with. But he still decides that he wants to get to know him better, that it seems like
there’s more to the alpha.

Jimin is pulled out of his thoughts when the door opens. Taehyung enters along with
Jeongguk, who pushes a wheelchair.

"Good morning Jiminie!" the other omega says happily, using the nickname he gave Jimin
last week. "Are you ready to leave?"

"Yes! Everything's done," Jimin nods.

"Perfect. I talked to my colleagues and we need to be here on Monday for a check up,"
Jeongguk explains, parking the wheelchair next to Jimin’s bed.

Before he can stand up on his own to sit down in it, Taehyung is by his side to help him.

"Careful! We don't want anything to happen today!" Taehyung laughs.

"No, definitely not!" Jimin agrees, trying to hide how nervous he actually is. Being able to
sleep in a real bed and having a nice place sounds better than being in a hospital, but it will
still be a big change for him. Actually, the omega has never been at the home of a city wolf,
he’s only seen pictures of them. He's kind of curious to find out what Jeongguk’s apartment
looks like.

"Then let's go!" Taehyung exclaims, and starts rolling Jimin out of the room.

When they’re on the sidewalk in front of the hospital Taehyung helps Jimin into Jeongguk’s
car, and before they drive off he looks at the huge building one more time. He’s thankful for
all the people that have helped him there and is glad that someone saved him from the flames.
The ride to Jeongguk’s apartment doesn’t take long, maybe because Jimin is occupied with
watching out of the window with big eyes, seeing buildings, streets, neon signs and people
flash by.

Sometimes he thinks about visiting the city for more than a few hours and just walking
around, exploring. It’s not that he ever thought about moving here, but to him it’s so different
and interesting. Now he will stay here for a while, and maybe he’ll actually have the chance
to see more than the hospital and Jeongguk’s apartment. Jimin always wanted to try the food
they sell in restaurants here; some of his pack members told stories about how delicious it is
and how you could buy food from all over the world. He will definitely ask Jeongguk to get
something. After all, he needs to be distracted, and Jimin has always loved food and cooking.

They stop in front of another huge building, probably the place where Jeongguk’s apartment
is. Again Taehyung helps him into the wheelchair, and together with Jeongguk, who carries
the little bag with Jimin’s clothes, they enter the building. They need to take the elevator, and
even if Jimin has done it before, he will probably never get used to the weird feeling in his
tummy when it starts. It doesn’t take long until the elevator stops again and the doors slide
open, revealing a long hallway. They walk until the end of it, where Jeongguk pulls his
keycard out and opens the door.

Taehyung pushes Jimin into the apartment, entering after Jeongguk.

"Welcome to my home," he says with a smile.

Jimin looks around with big eyes, taking in the whole room as a tiny wave of Jeongguk’s
chocolate scent washes over him. It isn't too strong since Taehyung has used a lot of scent
blocker to cover it, but since the alpha has been living in this place for two years already, they
couldn't get rid of everything. Luckily Jimin has always liked Jeongguk’s scent a lot, so he
isn't bothered by it.

The alpha’s apartment isn't too big, but has an open living room and kitchen area. Everything
is mostly grey and white , and there are several figures on the sideboards next to Jeongguk’s
huge TV. In front of it is a big couch with several pillows and blankets on it, looking very
comfortable. Behind this is the kitchen area with a counter and bar stools in front of it. The
room is illuminated by three big windows next to the couch where you can look over Seoul's
skyline. Jimin is already amazed by the view, but sure it will be even prettier at night.

"Should we show him his room?" Taehyung asks, kind of excited, and Jeongguk agrees.

On the right side is a hallway with three doors, and Taehyung approaches the one at the end.

"So, I prepared a few things for you. If you don't like it please be honest and just tell me, but
I really hope you can feel comfortable here" Taehyung says, before Jeongguk opens the door,
revealing a bedroom.

In the middle of it is a huge bed, much bigger than the hospital bed and the ones Jimin is used
to at home. But the best part is the things on the bed. It's covered in different pillows, big and
small ones, and there are several blankets made of different materials on it. Taehyung has
made a nest for Jimin.

"Tae…" The omega whispers, and feels tears welling up in his eyes.

"Do you like it?"

"Yes...it's beautiful," Jimin nods, and tries to stop himself from fully crying.

"I was careful to not leave too much of my scent on them. Feel free to remove the pillows
that smell too much."

But if Jimin is being honest, Taehyung’s scent always helps him to calm down, and he isn't
even a bit mad that a bit of his scent will linger at the place he'll be sleeping .

"We will give you some time later to scent it properly." Jeongguk places the bag on the floor
next to a dresser.

"Oh, and we need to get you more clothes in the next few days," the other omega exclaims.

"Tae, that's nice but…I don't think I will be able to walk around outside that soon," Jimin
interferes.

"Don't worry, there are ways to buy them from home, I’ll explain it later!" Taehyung just
says, and then starts pushing Jimin out of the room.

Jeongguk quickly follows and opens the door to the bathroom.

"As you can see, I have a shower and bathtub. Feel free to use them whenever you want to."

"Okay," Jimin nods, going a bit red.

"And this," Taehyung interrupts them as he opens the door to the third room, "is Jeongguk’s
bedroom."

"Yeah. I’ll be right next to you, so just scream if you need me." The alpha closes the door
again, blushing slightly.

"I guess that's it. I have an appointment in an hour so I need to leave, but I’ll be back later,"
the black haired omega explains. "Do you want to sleep a bit?"

Jimin immediately nods. It's only midday, but he's already feeling tired again.

"Okay, I will help you. And you," Taehyung points at Jeongguk, "can think about what we
want to eat for dinner."

"Yes sir!" Jeongguk laughs and leaves them alone.

Back in Jimin's room, Taehyung helps him out of the wheelchair and onto the bed.
"Do you want to change into something else?"

"Yeah, could you give me a pair of shorts?" Jimin asks.

Taehyung walks over to the bag and pulls one out of it, then helps Jimin change.

"Alright, I’ll give you some time alone now. See you later," the omega says, and leaves the
room.

Being alone in the room is a bit awkward. Don't get Jimin wrong, it's much better than the
hospital room, but it just doesn't feel like home.

So he decides to scent his bed, starting carefully at the pillows and then moving over to the
blankets. He rearranges them a few times until he's fine with it.

Normally he would take more time scenting, but he's just too tired. At least he's a bit more
relaxed now.

He's laying between all the pillows, three blankets covering his body. This is so much better
than the clean hospital room, and it's much easier for him to fall asleep.

The moment Jimin wakes up, he immediately feels too hot. He removes the blankets from
himself, but it doesn't help much. Jeongguk’s apartment is way warmer than the hospital
room. Even if it's nice, he should've noticed earlier.

His skin is burning and he just wants to remove all the clothes on his body, but Jimin is aware
that he isn't alone and that Jeongguk could enter the room any time.

After laying in his sweat for several more moments he just shouts Jeongguk’s name, deciding
that he needs a shower or a bath.

Jeongguk storms into the room with a worried expression.

"Jimin, is everything okay?"

The omega nods and blushes since he didn't want to sound like he was in danger.

"Yeah, well...I would like to take a shower or bath."

"Oh yeah sure! Should I help you into the wheelchair?" Jeongguk asks.

"Ah no, I guess I can walk," Jimin waves him off and stands up.

Jeongguk is immediately by his side in case he needs help.

Slowly they walk over to the bathroom where Jimin sits down on the toilet.

Then it's silent between them.

"Well...Do you know when Tae will be back? I need his help,"

"Oh...OH" Jeongguk realizes what Jimin means. The omega obviously can't step into the
bathtub by himself, and even if Jeongguk is his doctor, it would still be weird to be naked in
front of him. During Jimin's time in the hospital, only omegas have helped him in these
moments.

"Wait, lemme call him."

The moment Jeongguk closes the door behind him he needs to take a deep breath. Then he
calls Taehyung.

"Hey, what's wrong? Wait, is Jimin okay?"

"Yes he is," Jeongguk reassures his friend. "But Jimin needs a bath and well…"

"I get what you mean," his friend giggles. "I'm already on my way to your apartment, I’ll be
there in five minutes."

"Okay, good." Jeongguk lets out a breath he didn’t know he was even holding.

He really didn't want to let Jimin wait for too long and make this even more awkward.

The moment Taehyung arrives he kicks Jeongguk, who was waiting with Jimin, out of the
bathroom and locks the door behind himself.

"Okay." He turns to face Jimin. "Just tell me what you want me to do. I promise I won't
look!"

Jimin giggles and finally removes the sweater from his body. "It's okay Tae," the omega
laughs. "We're both just humans and grew up not being ashamed of our bodies."

Taehyung laughs as well and agrees. For many forest wolves it's natural to not hide your
body. They learn at an early stage that everyone's the same and they shouldn't hide
themselves. And even if city wolves may think they're very conservative, most forest packs
have become more open minded over the years. As an omega Jimin can decide by himself
when and who he wants to mate one day, and knows that no alpha should have any power
over him. He knows that there are still some packs in the forest -- and city -- who treat their
omegas like they're worth less, but in general a lot of things have changed for omegas over
the past few decades. Sure, there are still some older people who don't think alphas and
omegas are equal, but the younger generation is constantly fighting for it.

Taehyung kneels in front of Jimin and helps him get rid of his pants and underwear, the
omega sitting completely naked in front of him.
He walks over to the bathtub and turns the water on before he takes a look at the shelf next to
it.

"Mh," He murmurs. "Jeongguk has a lot of essentials…"

"Is there anything mostly neutral?" Jimin asks, since he has always preferred his own scent
the most.

"Yeah," the other omega nods, and picks a bottle. "This has a light flower scent if you want to
try it."

"Flowers are good," Jimin smiles and remembers how as a kid he loved to hide in his mum's
blankets because of her scent.

Taehyung pours some of it into the water and turns the water off when the tub is full enough.

He helps Jimin up and into the water, the blond omega letting out a long sigh as soon as the
warm water touches his body.

"This feels amazing…" he whispers, leaning back and resting comfortably. "So much better
than the shower at the hospital!"

"Yeah I don't like those either!" Taehyung laughs. "I'm gonna leave you alone, just scream if
you need something."

"Mhm," Jimin hums, and closes his eyes, hearing Taehyung leave the room.

After Jimin finally feels like a human again, they have a nice dinner and spend the rest of the
evening in light conversation. Taehyung decides to stay the night in case Jimin needs him.

But when Jimin is in bed again he doesn't want to be alone, so he grabs Taehyung’s hand and
looks at him with pleading eyes.

"Can you sleep with me here? I'm sorry if it's too much but…"

Taehyung shakes his head and gives him a gentle smile.

"No, it's fine!" He lays down next to Jimin under the blanket.

Even if this is Jimin's nest, Taehyung’s scent is already on some pillows, and the omega just
really needs someone tonight. He's still feeling a bit anxious and it's hard to get used to the
new situation.

After laying in the dark for several minutes Jimin is the first one to speak. He wanted to ask
Taehyung several times already but was always afraid to cross a line.

"Tae? Can I ask you something very personal? You don't need to answer, but how is the sex
with a city wolf?"
The omega doesn't even know why he wants to know this, but ever since Taehyung told him
a tiny bit about the night he got mated to Seokjin, he became curious.

"Well," Taehyung laughs. "There are for sure some differences. I only had sex with one forest
wolf when I was 16. He was my boyfriend at the time, but we were both super inexperienced.
When I moved here I tried some one night stands but it was...it wasn't good. Many city
wolves either don't know how or just don't want to please an omega the right way."

"Oh…" Jimin lets out.

"But Seokjin is different," Taehyung admits.

"Really?"

"Yes! We didn't have sex until our fifth date and when it happened, God I will never forget
that night. He took his time and it lasted for several hours. Let me tell you I couldn't really
walk for two days!" Taehyung laughs.

"Wow, that's…" Jimin giggles.

"Yeah, after that I kinda already knew he was the right one. I'm sure there are more men like
him here as well, and I just met the wrong ones before. But what about you? Have you had
sex?"

"I have," Jimin admits. "I had a boyfriend when I was 18 for about two years. The sex was
good but it took us some time to figure out how to make it work."

"Why did you two break up?" Taehyung asks carefully.

"We had a good time but it just wasn't it, you know? He's a really nice guy but after some
time I figured out I want more…"

"And what is more?"

"I still don't even know," Jimin sighs. "I guess I’ll know when I find it," he shrugs.

"Ah, yeah I get what you mean. Before Seokjin I didn't know what I wanted my future
partner to be like exactly, but when I met him I just knew 'That's it'."

"Yes but I'm turning 30 in two years and it feels like I'm running out of time," The blond
omega sighs. He isn't desperately searching for a partner, but since he wanted to have pups
one day, he knows there isn't that much time left.

"Don't worry too much about it! We're the same age and even if I have a mate, we still aren't
100% ready for a family you know? I'm busy with my career and Seokjin is as well. Who
knows, maybe you will find the right one soon. But then it still doesn't mean you immediately
need to get pregnant. Don't let others pressure you!"

Jimin sighs, but silently agrees because he knows Tae is right. There's a lot of pressure on
omegas to get pregnant and he hates it. What if someone doesn't even want to have pups?
What if you don't find the right partner? Something like this should always be your decision,
and no one has the right to tell you what to do.

"Also, you're a beautiful person inside and outside, I'm sure alphas here will be running after
you!" Taehyung exclaims.

"Tae!" Jimin laughs, and gently smacks his shoulder. "I don't know, guess I just have to wait
and see."

"Exactly! We should get some sleep now. Good night, Jiminie."

"Good night." Jimin moves a bit closer to Taehyung. The other omega gets the hint and
gently pulls Jimin against his chest, holding him tightly.

Jimin has always loved cuddling, and is so thankful that in a situation like this he had found
someone like Taehyung. It just feels like they’ve known each other for a long time.

Deep inside he still wishes to find an alpha who can hold him like this.

The tension between Jimin and Jeongguk is kind of awkward the following week.

The alpha wants to give him enough space, but at the same he wants to be there for him.
Luckily Tae is there most of the time, explains to Jimin what online shopping is, and gives
him his old phone. But whenever his friend isn’t there, the omega is reading a book in his
room or on the couch. At least they’ve started watching some TV series and movies together,
and even if they didn't talk much it eased some of the tension, helped them to get used to the
other's presence.

One day Jeongguk brings Jimin to the police. They want to take some pictures of Jimin in
case they find any wolves from his pack, and he needs to describe what his parents and sister
look like.

So Jeongguk is happy to have some good news for Jimin when he comes home Friday
afternoon.

The omega is currently laying on the couch in one of his blankets, watching a movie.

"Oh hey Jeongguk, welcome back home," Jimin says, stopping his movie and looking over to
the alpha.

Jeongguk pulls his shoes and jacket off, then sits down next to Jimin.

"I have really good news for you!"

"Really?" Jimin sits up and looks at him with his beautiful brown eyes.

"Yeah, the rescue team called me today. After searching the territory thoroughly they didn't
find any corpses, so they’re pretty sure everyone they haven't found yet is still alive! They
told me they found some hints that wolves lived around the place for a few days." the alpha
tells him excitedly.

"Oh my god...does this mean...do you think my parents are still alive?" The omega asks
carefully. Jeongguk can see the tears brimming in his eyes.

Jeongguk nods, and in the next moment Jimin throws himself on the alpha and hugs him
tightly.

"Thank you…I...they're alive!" he sobs into his shoulder.

Jeongguk hesitates a moment, but then he hugs him back, running a hand over his back
soothingly.

This is the first time they’ve been this close, but it doesn't feel awkward at all.

"Yes, the team is still searching for them. I guess you still need to wait a bit more, but I'm
sure they’ll find them soon!"

Jimin pulls away and looks at the alpha. "This is amazing. Thank you so so much! I promise I
won't bother you for too long!"

"No, you're not bothering me at all!" Jeongguk shakes his head. "And you don't need to thank
me, the rescue team does most of the work, I'm just here to share the information with you."

Jimin just shakes his head. "Still, you went to the police with me and let me stay here! I'm
really thankful that you and Tae are here to help me. I don't know what I would've done
without you," Jimin says in complete honesty.

"It's fine Jimin, really!" Jeongguk just answers with a gentle smile, carefully rubbing Jimin's
back.

Having the omega in his arms shouldn't feel so good, but for the first time he feels like he's
really comforting him, and he’s glad that Jimin allows him to do so. For sure Jeongguk would
never cross a line or have wrong intentions, but sometimes a hug can give the most comfort,
and he’ll always give the omega one when needed.

"And now let's eat dinner, I'm super hungry," he laughs, and Jimin just laughs as well.

Finally some of the weird tension between them is gone. Jeongguk is sure he just needs to
give Jimin a bit more time to get used to him.

Jeongguk sits down next to Seokjin with a big sigh.

"What's wrong?" The latter asks, taking a bite of his sandwich.

"Jimin…" Jeongguk mumbles.

"Ah, I see," Seokjin chuckles. "Something happened?"

"Yes and no. I told him that the chances his parents are alive are high and he hugged me. It
felt good to be there for him in the moment, you know? But it's still weird between us. I get
that I'm a stranger to him, but I just want him to feel comfortable in my apartment."

"I get what you mean, but I guess there's not much you can do. He's probably still traumatised
because of the fire, and the fact that his family is still missing doesn’t make it any better."

"I know," Jeongguk sighs, staring at the iced americano in his hands. "I mean for now, his
parents are the only ones who are still missing. But isn't there anything I can do for him? Tae
is so much better at this…"

"Yes, because he's a social butterfly," Seokjin laughs. "It's one of the reasons I fell in love
with him. But what are you and Jimin even doing when Tae isn't there?"

"Well, we watched movies and sometimes eat together when I'm home early. But forest
wolves don't play video games, you know?" the younger one laughs.

"I get that it takes some time to find things that you both like to do. But what about cooking,
for example?"

"Cooking?" Jeongguk looks at Seokjin and raises an eyebrow.

"Yes! Tae told me that he learned how to cook from his mum. He said that the food here is
different and that he needed some time to get used to the way our kitchens work, but I guess
that’s something you could do together," the older one suggests.

"Seokjin, you're a genius!" Jeongguk exclaims. "So far we’ve just ordered food or I’ve made
some ramyeon, but cooking a full meal together could be fun!"

"You see! I always have the best ideas," the older one grins. "What perfect timing that you
don't need to work tomorrow. Just go to the grocery store and buy everything you need. I'm
sure Jimin will like the idea."

"I hope so. Thanks, hyung!"

And Jeongguk does exactly that when his shift is over. He quickly buys some ingredients at a
grocery store and drives home.

When he arrives Jimin is in his room, so Jeongguk puts away all the things he bought before
he goes to ask the omega.

"Jimin?" Jeongguk is standing in the door frame while Jimin is laying in his bed, currently
reading one of the books Taehyung brought him.

"Hmm?" The omega lifts his head and looks at Jeongguk. "You're early today, how was
work?"
"Good. Non-emergency so I could leave on time. But I wanted to ask you something."

Jimin gestures to him to go on.

"Do you want to cook something together with me this evening? I don't need to work
tomorrow and thought you might like to try some homemade food."

Jimin's eyes immediately glisten with anticipation the moment Jeongguk mentions
homemade food. It's not like what they had before wasn't good, but Jimin just prefers to eat
something made by himself.

"Sure, I would love to do that!" the omega answers with a big smile.

"Perfect!" Jeongguk claps his hands. "Let me just take a quick shower and then we’ll start. I
bought several things so we're free to decide what to make."

"Mm, okay," Jimin nods.

Jeongguk is aware that because of his leg Jimin can't do much, but just being in the kitchen
and preparing for their dinner together sounds better than sitting on the couch in silence while
waiting for the delivery service.

Jeongguk takes a quick shower and then joins Jimin in the kitchen, who has already set down
onto one of the bar stools.

“Don’t say anything. I know I need to be careful, but it’s fine, the therapy helps,” Jimin says
before the apha can complain that he didn’t ask for help. He can see the progress and that
soon Jimin’s leg will be fully healed, but the omega should be careful.

“Okay, okay. I won’t say anything,” Jeongguk laughs. “So what should we eat?”
“Uhm...I don’t know. Any suggestions?”

“We could make japchae, and I bought some meat,” The alpha suggests.

“Oh, these noodles we ate last week?”

“Exactly!” Jeongguk nods and opens the cabinets to get all the ingredients they need. "If you
want to, you can prepare the vegetables."

"Sure! Just tell me what to do," Jimin answers with a smile. Jeongguk already feels like this
will help them to get more comfortable. He always loved cooking with his mom. She taught
him all the dishes loves, always made sure that even when she was busy with her job she
spent enough time with her son, because until his mum found a new mate that is like a father
to Jeongguk, it has only been him and his mother.

The alpha hands Jimin a cutting board, a knife, and the vegetables they’ll need while he starts
preparing the meat.

"Oh by the way, have you ever tried red wine?" he asks while cutting and seasoning the meat.
"No, we barely had any alcohol. Do you have any here?"

Jimin cuts the vegetables as Jeongguk walks over to one of the drawers and grabs a bottle of
his favourite wine. He gets two glasses and pours some of the liquid into it.

"Here, try it?" Jeongguk hands Jimin one of the glasses.

The omega takes it and sniffs at it. He only hums and then takes a small sip.

"Mmm, this tastes good!" he says with big eyes, taking another sip.

"Really? I love drinking wine from time to time, especially while cooking."

"Yes, I like it. It's way sweeter than the alcohol I got to taste before. I definitely like this one
much more!" Jimin exclaims.

"Then you’ll love the cocktails one of our friends makes. He's a big wine and whisky fan, but
sometimes he's in the mood for cocktails."

Jeongguk recalls one birthday where Yoongi suddenly started making cocktails for all of
them and they got so wasted that he still barely remembers anything about that night. It's
definitely time for their group of friends to meet again.

"What are cocktails?" Jimin asks, and starts cutting again.

"It's juice mixed with stronger alcohol. Some are so sweet that you don't taste the alcohol at
all, so it's a bit dangerous since you can get drunk really fast," the alpha explains.

"Oh, but I would love to try some one day."

"If you feel comfortable I can ask some of Tae’s and my friends to come over one night. Only
if you want to! But I promise they're super nice and you will get along easily." Jeongguk
places the meat in a pan and starts cooking it.

"Uhm...yeah, I guess that would be fun," the omega agrees.

Jeongguk knows that they'll probably find Jimin’s parents soon and that the omega won't stay
in the city forever, but he still wants him to have a good time here. Maybe they can be friends
at the end and meet from time to time. Just because Jimin is a forest omega doesn't mean they
can't have a nice friendship.

They keep talking while cooking their dinner, Jeongguk talking about his day at work and
Jimin about the book he's currently reading.

It's nice finally having the chance to have a real conversation like they had in the hospital
again, and not just sitting on Jeongguk’s couch in silence while watching TV. The alpha
learns more about Jimin, the books he likes, and he also explains to him how they cook their
dishes.
It's interesting to hear that even if they have different ways of living, there are always some
similarities.

When Jimin is done with cutting everything, Jeongguk starts making their japchae. It has
always been one of his favourite dishes, especially when his mom made it for him, but since
she’s a doctor just like her son she always needed to work a lot.

It doesn’t take long before everything is done. The alpha separates the japchae into two
bowls, places them on the counter, puts the meat onto a place next to it and also adds a bowl
with some kimchi.

He sits down next to the omega and looks at him expectantly.

“I hope you’ll like it!” Jeongguk grins.

Jimin grabs his chopsticks and tastes the japache first. He lets out a hum and nodds at
Jeongguk several times, immediately taking another bite.

“This tastes amazing! It’s even better than the times we ordered it!” Jimin admits.

Jeongguk blushes slightly and starts eating as well. “Thank you! I’m glad you like it,” he
smiles.

They eat in comfortable silence, smiling at each other from time to time. Seokjin was right,
doing something simple like cooking together really helps. It’s actually the first time
Jeongguk thinks that it could at least feel a bit normal to Jimin. Sure this is different from
cooking in the forest, where they don’t have things like an oven or fridge, but food has
always been a way of bringing people together right?

After dinner the alpha cleans everything up, even when Jimin protests that he wants to help.

“By the way, you can use the kitchen whenever you want to. I know you’re not used to these
things,” the alpha gestures to the stove, “but I can write you a short introduction for
everything.”

“Oh yeah, that would be nice, but,” Jimin pauses. “I really don’t know that many dishes I
could actually make here. We mostly use an open fire, you know?”

“Oh, yeah sorry,” Jeongguk laughs but then has an idea. “Wait here, I’ll be right back.”

The alpha rushes into his bedroom to grab something. When he’s back he places his tablet on
the counter. “Since Tae already showed you how to order things online, I’ll show you how
you can find some nice recipes as well.”

He unlocks the device and opens Pinterest, his favourite platform to find recipes. The alpha
explains to Jimin how to use the search bar and how the app works. It only takes a few
minutes before the omega understands everything.

“So whenever I’m not home and you aren’t in the mood to order food, you can use this to
make something by yourself. And if you have any questions just ask Tae or me,” Jeongguk
smiles.

“Thank you, this is really helpful!” The Omega smiles as well.

Later that evening, when both are already laying in their beds, Jeongguk writes a short
introduction for every device in his kitchen and sends it to Jimin, who doesn’t reply since
he’s probably already asleep.

A few days later Taehyung and Jimin are chilling on Jeongguk’s couch and watching a movie
when the black haired omega suddenly has an idea.

"Oh my god, Jimin I'm so dumb!"

"Huh?" Jimin looks over to him and raises an eyebrow.

"Why didn't I think about this sooner?!"

"Tae, what do you mean?" Jimin asks, completely confused.

"I just thought that the rescue team could go to my pack, maybe they've seen your parents!
They don't live that far away from the place where you lived! It's near a small lake, the
possibility of them going there isn't that small!" Taehyung explains.

"Wait...a small lake?" Jimin carefully asks. "Tae is your pack leader, maybe someone named
X?"

"Yes...why?"

"Tae, I know your pack!" Jimin nearly screams. "We visited them only a few months ago. My
mum also told me that our packs often help each other and that we went there often when I
was younger." The blond omega stares at Taehyung and suddenly everything makes sense.
The reason why he immediately trusted him wasn't only because Taehyung was so nice and
open to him...he must've already met Taehyung when he was younger. He clearly remembers
a black haired omega the same age as him he was friends with.

"Tae, I…"

"Jimin...do you..." the other omega whispers.

"Yeah," Jimin nods with a big smile. "I clearly remember you now! We were friends and one
summer I spent two weeks at your place!"

"Oh yes! I remember how we went swimming every day and how your mum taught us how
to cook!"
Taehyung nods excitedly. "Yes, it was shortly before the flood. I guess our packs lost contact
after that."

"Mm, we met your pack again only a few years ago and I was even sad that my childhood
friend wasn't there anymore."

"Jimin," Taehyung whispers, and Jimin is sure there are some tears visible in his eyes. "I
thought I would never see you again! But look at us now!" He laughs.

Jimin just pulls Taehyung into a tight hug. "I found you again," he whispers into his shoulder.

Sometimes fate works in weird ways.

Taehyung hugs him back and gently rubs Jimin’s back. “I can’t believe I have you back in my
life,” he laughs slightly. “I definitely need to contact my parents, they’ll be so happy to hear
about you!”

Jimin loosens his grip on Taehyung so he can look at him. “Oh right, your parents! How are
they doing?”

”They’re both fine. My mum still makes those little wooden figures, do you remember
them?”

“Yes, they’re so beautiful! I remember how she gifted me a small tiger so that I will never
forget you.”

”Ah yes! Gosh I miss these times, we could just be kids and didn’t need to worry about
anything,” Taehyung sighs.

Jimin nods and sighs as well, trying not to think about how much his life has changed since
then, and how he lost his home.

“Anyways, I’ll ask my parents if they’ve maybe seen your family. I know the chances aren’t
high, but we can at least try it.”

“Yes, and your parents will be happy to hear from you!”

“Ah, don’t worry about that,” Taehyung laughs. “Seokjin and I always visit them once a
month and last year they even came here to celebrate Christmas with us.”

“Christmas? I’ve only heard about it in some books. How is it? I heard that during it you
spend a lot of time with your loved ones,” Jimin asks curiously.

“Oh Jimin, it’s really the most beautiful time of the year! You decorate your home, bake some
cookies, drink hot chocolate and at Christmas Eve you have dinner with your friends or
family. I really love it! It’s one of the city wolf traditions I never want to miss. Oh, and you
can make gifts!”

“So it’s a holiday to just celebrate love and remember what is important in life?”
Taehyung nods enthusiastically. "Exactly! It's just such a beautiful time! The first Christmas I
spent with Seokjin made me realise that he's the love of my life, and that I want to be his
mate one day."
“This is so cute!” Jimin says with a big smile. He has always loved spending time with his
pack, and Christmas sounds like something he would love to celebrate.
“Maybe we can celebrate it together one day. You could visit us in the city and spend a few
days here,” Taehyung suggests.
“That sounds lovely! I mean you and Jeongguk did so much for me and I would love to see
you again,” Jimin agrees. When he woke up in the hospital a few weeks ago he was so afraid,
especially since he didn’t know anyone here in the city, but they have helped him a lot and
always make sure that Jimin doesn’t feel alone. Even if it’s only been such a short time
they’ve spent together he can’t imagine not seeing them again, especially because Taehyung
and him were best friends when they were still children.

The next days are pure torture for Jimin. He knows that it will take some time until the rescue
team will reach Tae's pack, but the fact that there's a chance that they've seen his family gives
him some hope. They're the only ones left out there, and Jimin just wants them to be alive
and okay. So he spends most of the day reading and searching for recipes on Pinterest, just as
Jeongguk had shown him.

The night before the team will finally reach his pack is the worst. Jimin turns over in his bed
several times, but he just can't fall asleep. On one hand he's excited, because maybe his
parents are even staying with Taehyung's pack. On the other hand, they may tell him that
something horrible happened to his family.

When it's around three in the morning he gives up and decides to make himself some tea. He
was really happy when he found peppermint tea at the grocery store last week since it has
always been his favourite.

So he silently walks into the kitchen and starts the kettle. It took him some time, but now he
knows how the devices work. The omega grabs a mug, but due to his clumsiness it slips out
of his hand and falls to the floor, breaking into several pieces.

"Oh no, why now?!" Jimin grumbles. "No, no, no…" the omega mumbles with tears welling
up in his eyes. He doesn't know why, probably because of tomorrow and the fact that he's
constantly reminded of what happened to his pack, but he's just overly emotional. It's the
middle of the night and Jimin is crying in the kitchen because of a damn mug.

Suddenly he hears footsteps and Jeongguk rushes into the kitchen.

"Jimin? Is everything okay?" the alpha asks with a super worried expression.

Jimin looks at him with tears in his eyes and shakes his head. "No...I'm sorry. I just wanted to
make some tea, but the mug…"

"Oh…" Jeongguk looks down at the broken pieces on the floor. "It's fine Jimin, don't worry.
Just, stay there okay? You’re not wearing slippers, I'll take care of it."
Just then Jimin notices that Jeongguk isn't wearing a shirt. Even if they've been living
together for a while now, he has never seen the alpha like this. He has a muscular body, toned
skin and there are tattoos. They cover the skin of his chest and right shoulder, beautiful
flowers decorating his body.

Jeongguk starts moving around, collecting the broken pieces from the floor, and placing them
in the sink.

"Okay, so far I got all the big ones but...Jimin, is it okay if I carry you so you won't step on a
smaller piece?" Jeongguk asks nervously.

The omega looks at him with big eyes, but then he nods.

The alpha slowly walks over to Jimin, carefully wraps his arms around his waist and lifts him
up. It’s a bit weird to be so close to the other male while he wears nothing, but it’s the first
time Jimin can smell Jeongguk’s pure dark chocolate scent without any scentblocker or
clothes covering it. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, can’t stop himself from taking
another once since the alpha just smells so good. Jimin has never met an alpha with such a
sweet scent before. Normally they have more natural scents, sometimes mixed with musk,
but Jeongguk just smells like heaven.

The alpha gently places Jimin down again. “Are you okay?”
He just nods and stops himself from seeking Jeongguk’s proximity again. The sudden
distraction of the alpha’s smell has at least made him stop crying. Jimin doesn’t know why
and refuses to think more about it, but the chocolate scent has helped him calm down
immediately, and he’s glad for it.

When everything’s cleaned Jimin looks at the alpha with an apologetic expression.
“Sorry again…” he mumbles. “I should’ve been more careful.”
“It’s fine, really! Just be more careful, okay? And if you need help just ask me,” Jeongguk
smiles. “But we should sleep. It’s been a long day.”
“Yeah...then...good night.”
“Good night Jimin, sleep well.” Jeongguk says before he walks back into his room.
The omega does the same and this time he can finally fall asleep, the scent of Jeongguk still
lingering in his nose.

Chapter Summary

Some things will happen between Jikook and the omega can finally heal a bit.

The moment Jimin sits down between Jeongguk and Taehyung, all of them waiting for the
rescue team’s call, his heart beats so fast it feels like it wants to escape from his body.
Taehyung had informed the team about his idea and they immediately agreed. It took them
some time to arrive at the location where Taehyung’s pack currently lives, but today they
should finally arrive.
It’s completely silent, the room filled with anticipation until Taehyung’s phone suddenly
rings. With shaking hands he accepts the call, putting it on speaker.
“Hello, Kim Taehyhung here.”
“Taehyung-ssi, it’s Jongho from the rescue team. We arrived at your pack a few minutes
ago.”
“Oh, okay. Did you already talk to my parents?”
“No, but your mother is next to me. We thought it would be better if you talk to her,” the man
explains.
“Tae? Hi, it’s me, your mum,” a woman with a sweet voice speaks into the phone.
“Hey mum, I hope you and Dad are fine!”
It’s been several months since the last time Taehyung got to talk to one of his parents. It was
during spring, when he and Jin visited them for a weekend.
“Yes dear, we are! But these men came here and said that you need our help? What’s wrong?
Did something happen to you or Seokjin?”
“No, everything’s fine. But do you remember Jimin, the friend I had when I was a child? Our
packs were in contact for many years, and he often visited us together with his family!”
“Ah, yes Jimin! I remember, but is he okay?”
“Yes, he’s sitting next to me,” Taehyung laughs.
“Hey, it’s Jimin!” the blond omega speaks into the phone.
“Oh Jimin, I’m so relieved to hear you’re okay,” the mother says with a sudden shift in her
voice.
“Huh? Mom, what do you mean?” her son asks, but already knows why she probably said
that.
“His family, they were here a week ago. They told us there was a huge fire and that they’re
searching for Jimin.”
The next moment it’s completely silent. Jeongguk and Taehyung immediately turn their
attention to Jimin who’s sitting between them with tears in his eyes, one hand covering his
mouth.
“Jimin…” Jeongguk whispers and carefully places a hand on his back.
“They...they’re alive…” Jimin gasps and falls against the alpha, burying his face on his
shoulder.
“Shh...everything’s okay, try to breathe,” Jeongguk whispers into Jimin’s ear and gently
caresses his back.
Jimin’s head is spinning. His family is alive and even if the rescue team still don’t know
where they are, this means he will see them again. Only Jeongguk’s dark chocolate scent can
calm him down, so he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. The omega doesn’t even know
why this particular scent is so comforting, but during this moment he couldn’t care less. All
that matters is that his family is alive.
“Mom, how are they? Do they have any serious injuries?” Taehyung asks.
“No. Only a bit exhausted, but besides that they’re fine.”
A loud sob leaves Jimin’s mouth after hearing that. He presses his face harder against
Jeongguk’s shoulder and just lets everything out.
“Jimin...hey…” Jeongguk says and carefully places a hand on Jimin’s face, lifting it so that
their eyes meet. “Look at me. They’re alive, everything will be fine. But you need to breathe
for me, okay?” He smiles gently.
Jimin looks deeply into Jeongguk’s eyes, trying to focus on them and the doctor’s scent only.
“We’re here for you, just breathe,” Jeongguk whispers and caresses his cheek.
It works. Jimin is able to calm down, even when some tears are still rolling down his face.
The omega turns to Taehyung and speaks into the phone. “Thank you for helping them. I’m
so happy to hear they’re fine.” full stop instead
“Jimin, there’s no need to thank us!” the mother says. “I was so sad when we lost contact and
the moment your family arrived here we didn’t hesitate to help them.”
The omega smiles and nods, even though Taehyung’s mother can’t see him. “But they must
be so worried. I’m pretty sure my dad saw how I fell unconscious because of the smoke…”
Jimin sighs.
“They are worried, yes. But I talked to your mother and she told me that she just knows
you’re alive. I totally know how she feels, because everytime my Taetae isn’t happy I can feel
it, even if it barely happens anymore since he met Seokjin.”
“Mum!” Taehyung whines out of embarrassment.
“Really?” Jimin asks carefully. “I just want them to be safe, and hopefully the rescue team
will find them soon.”
“I’m sure they will! Jimin, your family is strong ,and I’m sure that soon you will see them
again.”
“I hope so…” the omega whispers.
“Jimin,” Taeyhung says with a smile. “The rescue team will do everything possible to find
them. And until then we’re here for you.”
“Okay…” Jimin nods, still close to the alpha.
“Thanks for your help, Mum! I promise when all of this is over, Seokjin and I will visit you.”
“Yes, please! It’s been far too long since the last time we met. Also, Jimin? You’re welcome
to visit us as well,” Taehyung's mother says. She hasn’t changed a bit since the last time
Jimin has seen her, and is still the lovely mother he had always thought her to be.
“I would love to do that! Goodbye.”
After the call ends, Jeongguk and Taehyung both look at Jimin with worried expressions.
Even if the omega is relieved that his family is alive, Jimin knows that they must be so
worried. He just hopes that the rescue team will find them soon and that hopefully his whole
pack can be reunited.
“I’m okay, really!” Jimin smiles.
“Really?” Jeongguk asks, still caressing Jimin’s back.
“Yes. I mean I’m still worried, but at least I know they’re alive and that I will see them
again.”
“Okay. I will update you as soon as the rescue team has any new information or even found
them,” Taehyung promises.
“Thank you, and your mom!” Jimin releases himself from Jeongguk to hug Taehyung. “I’m
so grateful to have you…”
“No need to thank me, Jimin. We’re friends, remember? And friends are always there for
each other, no matter how long they’ve been apart.”
“Yes, we are!” Jimin smiles.

Later that evening, at Jeongguk's, Jimin is already asleep by time. Taehyung puts it down to
the day just been super exhausting for all of them, but most especially for the blonde omega.
He decides to stay a bit longer anyway, just in case his help might be required.
“Do you want a beer as well?” Jeongguk asks from the kitchen.
“Please!” Taehyung sighs from his place on the couch.
The alpha grabs two bottles from the fridge and joins his best friend.
“So...what was that earlier?” Taehyung asks and opens his bottle.
Jeongguk does the same and takes a sip before he looks at the omega.
“What do you mean?”
“The way Jimin was clinging to you? He didn’t let go of you, even after the call ended.”
Taehyung explains with a smirk.
“I don’t know…” the alpha sighs and looks at the bottle in his hands. “It started after we
spent that one evening cooking together. After that, this weird tension between us was gone,
and we started talking more. I guess he’s finally comfortable around me which is something
good, right?”
“It definitely is! But Jeongguk he sniffed at you like you’re the most expensive perfume in
the world!” the omega laughs.
“I guess he just likes my scent,” Jeongguk shrugs. “Sometimes there are just people whose
scent you like a lot. I mean I like his one as well. It’s such a perfect mix of cinnamon and
vanilla.”
“I see…” the omega smirks again.
“You're one to talk, though. Every time we meet Yoongi, you spend at least ten minutes
sniffing the guy! Poor Seokjin,” Jeongguk laughs.
“Yes, because that man smells like heaven! And don’t bring Jinnie into it, he loves Yoongi’s
scent as well,” Taehyung laughs. “But I’m happy to hear that things are getting better
between you two. He still needs to stay here a bit longer and it’s good if he can finally relax a
bit. Just be careful, okay? You know he will leave soon.”
“Tae,” Jeongguk rolls his eyes. “There’s nothing to worry about! I guess we’re friends now,
that’s it.”
Normally, someone like Jimin would 100% be his type, but the situation is too complicated.
So the alpha doesn’t allow himself to think or feel in this direction. Soon Jimin will leave,
and even if they both promise to see each other again, Jeongguk already knows that he will
miss living together with him. At first it had been super awkward, but now it’s nice to come
home knowing that someone is waiting for him. Most days they just eat together, talk about
their day or share stories of their lives, but it’s nice to have a new friend.
It’s in the middle of the night when Jimin wakes up because of the loud noises outside of his
apartment. He opens his eyes but everything’s dark around him, until there’s a flash of
lightning, lightning up the room for a second. The omega has never liked thunderstorms.
He already didn’t sleep well the last couple of days, his nights being filled with horrible
dreams. Since they last spoke to Taeyhung’s mother, they’ve gotten daily updates from the
rescue team, but they still haven't found his family. And now a thunderstorm is ruining
another night for him. Normally he would sneak into his sister’s bed, but she isn’t here to
cuddle with him and calm the omega down.
Another flash of lights illuminates the room, followed by an even louder rumble.
“Fuck…” Jimin mumbles to himself and looks around anxiously. He’s aware that technically
he isn’t alone, but Jeongguk is in his bedroom and he doesn’t want to call Taehyung just
because he’s scared of thunderstorms.
He lays back down and closes his eyes, hoping to fall asleep again. But the weather outside
gets worse, one beating drum of thunder following another one. After another fifteen
minutes, the omega finally gives up. Jimin moves the blanket away and slowly stands up,
scanning his surroundings until his eyes get used to the dark.
“I really shouldn’t do this...but he will understand...he always does…” he mumbles and
tiptoes over to Jeongguk’s room. Everytime there’s another growl or flash, he freezes, waiting
until it’s gone before he keeps walking.
Jimin stops in front of the door, taking a deep breath before he carefully pushes it open. He
has never been in the alpha’s room before, and the moment he opens the door he’s confronted
with a wave of his dark chocolate scent. It smells heavenly in the room, as if someone spends
the whole day making pralines in here. Jimin takes another deep deep breath, enjoying
Jeongguk’s scent for a moment, before he makes his way further into the room . It’s
completely dark in there as well, the only light coming from the buildings outside. When he’s
next to the bed, he peers down at the alpha who seems to be sleeping peacefully. Jimin knows
that this is something he shouldn’t do, that no matter how much they’ve already gotten used
to each other, this is still Jeongguk’s most private place. But the omega is too scared to think
more about it, his fear making him rest a hand on the alpha’s shoulder and gently shaking
him.
“Jeongguk?” he whispers but the other male only grumbles, his eyes still closed.
Jimin tries again and shakes him a bit harder this time. “Jeongguk...please…”
The alpha finally opens his eyes, needing a moment to fully wake up.
“Jimin? He says with a raspy voice. “What...is everything okay?”
Jeongguk looks super worried the moment he realizes that the omega is in his bedroom.
Jimin feels so dumb now that the alpha is awake and asking him what’s wrong. It’s just a
damn thunderstorm and he’s in a safe building. Tears well up in his eyes and Jimin looks
away, being ashamed of how scared he is.
“Hey, Jimin...what’s wrong?” Jeongguk asks even more worried and gently takes Jimin’s
hand.
“It’s nothing...I shouldn’t have woken you up, sorry.”
Jimin tries to free himself, but Jeongguk stops him, hardening his grasp around Jimin’s hand.
“Please...what’s wrong?”
Jimin still looks away, but after a moment he decides that he should just tell Jeongguk the
truth since he’s awake now anyway.
“The thunderstorm...It’s so loud…” the omega whispers.
“Oh,” Jeongguk just says and looks out of the window, just now noticing how bad the
weather outside is. He sits up and gently pulls Jimin next to him.
“Mhhh, I get what you mean.”
Jimin finally looks at him with big eyes, not having expected the alpha to react like this. He
knows that Jeongguk is a sweet and caring person, but in Jimin’s mind being scared of a
thunderstorm sounds super dumb at the age of 27. Some of the pack members even made fun
of him when they found out about his biggest fear. But his little sister, three years younger
than him, had immediately come to his defense . Jimin has always adored his little sister.
She's such an amazing person, strong and intelligent, knows exactly what she wants. A few
months ago , she had met an omega who was in search for a new pack, and they both
immediately fell in love. This is what Jimin is looking for as well, but he just can't find the
right person - at least that is until now, he hopes...maybe?. Remembering his sister reminds
the omega that it's okay to be afraid , and that there are always people you can ask for help.
Normally he would've asked her, seeking her closeness to feel less scared, so it's okay to just
ask Jeongguk instead, right? He's a trustworthy and caring person.
"I'm so sorry for waking you up, because I know how early you need to leave for work. It's
just...I've always been scared of thunderstorms, and my sister isn't here and...and…" Jimin
finally answers him.
"Shh, it's fine," Jeongguk just says with a gentle smile and places a comforting hand on
Jimin’s back. "Don't worry, we went to bed early so I'll get enough sleep. Do you want to
watch a movie or drink tea?"
Jimin just shakes his head.
"Okay. Should I call Tae?" The Alpha tries again.
Jimin thinks about it for a moment but then decides that he doesn't want to wake up
Taehyung as well. “No…” he mumbles.
"Mmh,okay. We can just talk if that helps."
"Actually…" Jimin starts, but stops the moment he starts blushing. When he came to
Jeongguk he thought it was because he didn't want to be alone anymore, but just then, he
realises what he really wants. “Can I sleep here? I can sleep on the floor...but I just don’t
want to be alone.”
Jeongguk stares at him for a moment, and Jimin is scared that he will decline, but then he
smiles and nods. “Sure. But you don’t need to sleep on the floor, my bed is big enough. I
mean if this would be okay for you!” Jeongguk adds, now blushing as well. He also finally
switches on the lamp on his bedside table, the light illuminating the room just enough so
Jimin knows what Jeongguk meant when he said his bed is big. It’s actually a king size bed,
offering plenty of space. There’s also a closet on the opposite wall and, on the right, next to
the bed is a huge floor to ceiling window, just like in the other rooms of the apartment.
“Really? I know the bed is a very personal space for a wolf and I don’t want to do something
that makes you uncomfortable.”
“It’s okay Jimin, really. Otherwise I definitely would let you know. But we’ve been living
together for quite some time now, and my wolf feels comfortable in your presence,”
Jeongguk says with a reassuring smile.
Jimin is kinda surprised to hear that, even if his own wolf feels the same. Sure, at first it was
super awkward, but now Jeongguk is something he and his wolf can trust. The days where
they were sitting on the couch in silence are gone. They finally started talking and became
friends, or roommates, whatever you want to call it.
“Okay, thank you so so much! If it’s getting too much, please tell me.” Jimin makes sure.
“I will. And the same goes for you!”
Jimin smiles at him before he stands up and walks to the other side of the bed, where he lays
down. He must admit that Jeongguk’s bed is even better than the one in the guest room.
For a moment it’s completely silent between them, both getting used to the situation. The
room still smells mainly like Jeongguk, but now there’s also a tiny hint of Jimin’s Cinnamon
and Vanilla scent mixed with it.
“Do you want me to leave the light on?” Jeongguk then asks, lifting his blanket so Jimin can
slip under it.
“Yes, that would be nice,” the omega says, making sure that there’s enough space between
their bodies.
“Alright. Good night, Jimin.”
“Good night.”
Jimin closes his eyes and tries to relax, not thinking about the thunderstorm outside. But it’s
still the same, one boom of thunder following after another. When there’s a particularly loud
rumble , the omega is so scared that without noticing he inches closer to Jeongguk. It goes on
like this for several minutes, until Jimin’s hip gently brushes Jeongguk’s body.
“Oh...sorry...I…” Jimin immediately apologizes.
“It’s fine. But uhm...well...do you want to cuddle?”
“What?!” Jimin stares at Jeongguk, not trusting his own ears.
“I guess cuddling helps in this kind of situation, right? We don’t need to, but if it helps then I
would be okay with it.”
Jimin and Jeongguk have hugged before, the alpha even comforting him when he found out
his family was alive, but cuddling is something completely different. He has done it with his
family and even Taehyung multiple times. The last time he cuddled with an alpha
however,was with his ex boyfriend. If it would've been any other alpha, Jimin wouldn't have
even agreed to sleep in the same bed, but Jeongguk is different. Since they met he has always
made sure Jimin is okay; he let him live in his apartment and even helped him search for his
family, which means cuddling with him should be okay.
"Okay," Jimin just whispers and turns his body, carefully laying his head down onto
Jeongguk’s shoulder. The alpha waits until Jimin has found a good position and then drapes
his arm over Jimin's body, his hand resting on his back.
"Is this okay?" he asks while he starts to caress Jimin’s back.
The blond boy only hums and closes his eyes. In this position, his ears are partly covered so
the thunderstorm isn't that loud anymore. He can also fully smell Jeongguk’s scent, just like
he did during that night a few days ago. First he thought being so close to an alpha he’s only
known for about a month would be weird, but he already started fully trusting him some
weeks ago. It’s probably because Taehyung is Jeongguk’s best friend and he only told him
good things about the alpha. Or maybe it’s his wolf that has a much better sense when it
comes to other wolves, especially alphas. If his wolf can trust someone, Jimin knows he can
do it as well. The omega hasto admit that every time Jeongguk is around him his wolf is
super calm, sometimes even seeking the alpha’s closeness. Until now Jimin hadn’t really
noticed, since he was so occupied with worrying about his family. But since he discovered
that they’re alive and safe, he’s given more attention to what his wolf feels.
After a while, Jeongguk’s breathing evens out and he stops caressing Jimin’s back, the alpha
falling asleep. It doesn’t take long until Jimin drifts into the land of dreams as well, finally
feeling safety and comfort after so long.
When he wakes up the next morning there isn’t a body next to him anymore. Jimin slowly
opens his eyes, giving them some time to adjust to the brightness. The sun is shining,
illuminating the room, but he knows that it’s still cold outside since winter is close. First
Jimin thinks that Jeongguk has probably already left for work, but only a minute later the
alpha walks into the room.
“Good morning, Jimin! I hope you slept well,” he says and hands Jimin a mug. “I made your
favourite tea and already prepared breakfast. You can eat it later if you’re not up to it yet. I
already ate since I need to leave for work soon.”
"Oh, okay. Thank you," Jimin answers with a smile and takes a sip from his tea. Normally
when Jimin wakes up Jeongguk has already left and he makes his own breakfast. Only on the
weekend they spend their morning together and Jimin gets to enjoy the amazing food the
alpha makes for them.
"I hope that I can be home on time today, but in case I don't you know you can call me
whenever you want."
"Thanks, but don't worry, I'll spend the day with Taehyung," Jimin explains. A few days ago
Taehyung suggested that they could go to the city for the first time. Jimin’s leg is nearly
healed, and seeing something other than Jeongguk’s apartment or the grocery store sounds
perfect.
“Ah yes, I remember how Jin mentioned something like this yesterday. Then I wish you and
Tae a wonderful day!” Jeongguk gives him another smile, looking at the omega for a
moment. “Well, I should go now, see you later.”
“See you!”
With Jimin alone now, ,he takes his time to finish the tea before he stands up to get some
breakfast. On the kitchen counter are two plates, one filled with various types of fruits and
another one with some kimchi fried rice. Jimin sits on one of the bar stools and enjoys the
food Jeongguk has prepared for him, being once again thankful for the alpha’s cooking skills.
After that he cleans up and takes a shower, and gets ready for his day with Taehyung. The
omega has brought Jimin some clothes he can wear outside, since it’s getting colder these
days. So Jimin slips into the blue jeans and a cozy cream colored sweater, the ones he likes
the most because it’s a bit too big on his body, but has such a soft material. The only thing he
adds when Taehyung arrives half an hour later is a coat and some winter boots.
“So, where did you plan to go?” Jimin asks curiously when they’re sitting in the car.
“This will be a surprise! But I promise you’ll like it there,” Taehyung grins and drives them
into the city.
“Alright, seems like I need to trust you,” Jimin chuckles and looks out of the window.
The ride doesn’t take long, huge buildings flashing by and once again the omega is
astonished by how different it looks compared to the place where he grew up. There are still
some trees here and there, and he can also spot a little park, but it’s just not the forest. When
he got to visit the city for the first time as a child it was as if he discovered a new world and
he was so fascinated by the way the wolves here live. He’s still fascinated by all the buildings
and lights, but he also knows that the way he lives has so many positive aspects as well.
Nature gives them so much more freedom and they don’t need to worry about things like a
job or money.
Taehyung parks the car and looks over to Jimin. “We need to walk the rest. I hope that’s
okay.”
“Tae,” Jimin laughs. “I’m totally fine! Jeongguk and I already walked to a park near his
apartment.”
“Oh, really? Never thought Jeongguk would be the type to take a walk,” Taehyung grins.
“Well, when I first mentioned it he wasn’t that happy, but I think he kinda enjoyed it.”
As a forest wolf it’s completely normal for Jimin to walk around a lot. He loves to just enjoy
nature while walking around, and even if it’s not the same in the city, the walk they took
some days ago was so healing for him. Just finally being able to freely move his body again
and breathing the fresh air made him happy. Even if Jeongguk didn’t really want to go at first,
in the end he enjoyed it as well, so much that he didn’t even realise that they had been
walking around for nearly two hours. It’s not that the alpha is lazy, but Jimin already figured
out that he’s more the type of going to the gym after work. Before the fire happened, the
omega didn’t even know that something like this existed , but after Jeongguk told him about
it and also showed him some pictures, he thought that it’s a good way to keep your body
healthy, especially if you live in the city.
“Poor Jeongguk,” Taehyung laughs. “Anyways, let’s go.”
They both step out of the car, Jimin following Taehyung since he has no clue where they’re
heading to. After a ten minute walk, they reach the pedestrian zone and the other omega stops
in front of one of the buildings.
“Here we are,” he gestures at it. “This is a cafe, the place I explained to you where you can
get something to drink, like coffee or tea, and eat pastries.”
Jimin takes a look into the cafe through the huge floor to ceiling windows. There’s a counter
on the one side and little tables with comfortable-looking chairs. The interior is in pastel
colours with beautiful paintings of flowers on the walls. On the other side is a counter
including a glass showcase where delicious-looking pastries are displayed. Jimin has only
seen some of them in the movies he and Jeongguk have watched, but they look so much more
delectable in real life.
"Let's go inside," Taehyung suggests, and they both enter the little cafe.
The two omegas sit down on one of the tables next to the window where they have a good
view of what is happening on the streets outside. Taehyung gives Jimin one of the menus and
opens another for himself.
"Since Jeongguk mentioned that you don't like coffee after you tried it last week, I would
suggest one of their homemade teas. They're super delicious!" the other omega mentions
while Jimin takes a look at the menu.
There are all different kinds of drinks on it, from black coffee and hot chocolate to the teas
Taehyung has mentioned. On some of the other pages are pastries, where Jimin even
recognises a few, like donuts or cheesecakes.
"Oh! The elderflower mint tea sounds delicious!" Jimin says.
"Yes, it's one of my favourites. But today I'm in the mood for some hot chocolate since it's
really cold outside," Taehyung chuckles.
It's already October and the weather is much colder now combined with a lot of rain.
Normally during this time of the year Jimin and his pack do their final preparations for the
winter, like making sure that their tiny houses stay warm, collecting enough wood and
preparing several dishes they can eat when it gets too cold outside for hunting.
"Also, I would recommend their croffles."
"What is a croffle?" Jimin asks, confused.
"It's a mix between a donut and waffle. I mean you probably never had one of these either,
but I promise you'll love it!"
"Hey, Tae! Nice to see you," a voice suddenly interrupts their conversation.
A waiter is standing next to their table. He has brown hair with some blond highlights and his
smile is shaped like a heart. Since Jimin can barely smell any scent on him, he assumes the
man must be a beta.
"Hello, Hobi hyung. I just thought it was time to show Jimin your cafe, so here we are,"
Taehyung grins.
"You two know each other?" he asks.
"Yes, hyung is a part of our group of friends. He and his husband Yoongi own this cafe."
"Oh, really? Your cafe is so beautiful!" Jimin looks at Hoseok and smiles at him.
"Thank you! And you must be Jimin, nice to finally meet you. Jeongguk can't stop talking
about you," the beta laughs.
"Oh…" Jimin just stares at him with big eyes while Taehyung just starts laughing.
"But don't tell him that I kinda exposed him," Hoseok winks at Jimin.
"I won't," the blond omega promises, but still blushes a bit.
"So, what can I bring you? Hot chocolate for you, Tae?"
“Yes! Could you also bring us two cronuts? The ones combined with fruits and chocolate?”
“Sure! And what about you, Jimin? Any drink I can bring you?” Hoseok looks at Jimin and
smiles.
“Yes, I would like to have an elderflower mint tea, please,” Jimin orders.
Hoseoks writes down their order and then leaves again. It doesn’t take long until he arrives
with their order and places it in front of them.
“If you need something else, just scream!” he laughs.
The cronuts Hoseok brought are decorated with strawberries and blueberries with chocolate
sauce over them. Jimin carefully grabs his mug and notices that the tea already smells
amazing, reminding him of a nice summer day in the forest.
"So, how are things going with Jeongguk?" Taehyung asks before biting into his cronut.
Jimin just smiles and carefully takes a sip of his tea. "Good I guess."
"Good?" Taehyung raises one eyebrow. "Wait, why are you smiling like that? Something
happened right?!"
"No, I mean it's not that big of a deal!"
"But?" Taehyung encourages him to continue.
“Well...there was this thunderstorm last night, and if there’s one thing I really hate then it’s
thunderstorms. I know this may sound childish, but I just can’t sleep alone then, so last night
I went over to Jeongguk. He was so nice to me and let me sleep in his bed. I didn’t plan for it
to happen and I’m still worried that I crossed a line, but at one point we started cuddling,”
Jimin tells the other omega with red cheeks. This morning it didn’t seem like Jeongguk was
mad at him, but he’s still worried that he made the alpha feel uncomfortable.
Taehyung just stares at Jimin, his cronut completely forgotten.
“I...I know we haven’t known each other for that long, but we’re roommates and I would call
him my friend. And for friends it’s normal to cuddle with each other, right?” Jimin asks
nervously.
“Jimin, yes cuddling is completely normal between friends!” Taehyung finally answers and
smiles at him. “I’ve already done that with Jeongguk as well, so don’t worry about it! And let
me tell you, Seokjin is scared of thunderstorms as well.”
“Really?” Jimin asks with big eyes.
“Yes,” Taehyung laughs. “He will always be my strong alpha, but he really hates them and
last night he refused to leave my side. I guess we all have things we’re scared of and that’s
totally fine. Also don’t tell Jeongguk, but he loves to cuddle! When Seokjin and I just got
together I often found them cuddling, especially when they fell asleep after a long study
session. I’m just happy to hear that you two really get along now!”
“We do! He’s such a nice and fun person. I’m really glad that he offered me his help and a
place to stay. Living in the forest means that you don’t make many new friends, especially
when you’re an adult,” Jimin sighs.
“Yeah, I get what you mean! It's nice to have a pack you can rely on, but sometimes it can get
lonely,” the other omega agrees.
“So you don’t think I made him feel uncomfortable?”
“No, there’s really no need to worry about it, Jimin! I know him, and if he didn’t want to
cuddle he would’ve told you.”
Jimin is relieved to hear that and promises himself to do something to thank Jeongguk for
being there for him last night, maybe preparing dinner or something like that.

Waiting for news from the rescue team feels like torture for Jimin. He's happy to know that
his parents are at least alive, but not knowing where they are or their condition is the worst.
He tries his best to not think about it too much, keeping himself distracted with reading
books, watching movies or trying out new recipes he finds on Pinterest. But his mood hasn't
been the best the last few days, and no matter how hard he tries to hide it, Jeongguk notices.
So the alpha suggests having a movie night, with takeout food and all the snacks Jimin
discovered he liked.

After finishing their ordered fried chicken they sit on the couch, Jimin wrapped in a cosy
blanket, while watching one of the Marvel movies Jeongguk likes so much.

If there's one thing Jimin hates about being an omega, it's that they tend to get cold easily. So
during the movie he inches closer to the alpha, since his body radiates so much warmth that
Jimin now understands why Jeongguk often sleeps shirtless.

"Jimin? Are you okay?" Jeongguk whispers and looks at the omega.

"Oh yes, everything's fine." He blushes and avoids Jeongguk's gaze.

"Jimin…" Jeongguk keeps looking at him.

Jimin tries to ignore him, which works until there's suddenly an arm around his shoulder and
Jeongguk pushes the omegas body against his own.

"Better?" he whispers.

"Yes, thanks. But how did you know?" Jimin asks and finally looks at him as well.

"I remember how my mum has always been cold and sits on the couch wrapped in a blanket
just like you did. I hope this is okay."

"It is!" Jimin smiles and places his head on Jeongguk’s shoulder.

The alpha hasn't talked much about his mother, but from what Jimin knows, she's a sweet and
caring omega. She raised Jeongguk really well, and sometimes Jimin wants to thank her for
doing so.
Jeongguk’s body is perfectly warm, and Jimin feels so safe next to him that he gets sleepy
after a while. Maybe it's not only the warmth, but also Jeongguk’s comforting dark chocolate
scent, and at one point during the movie he just can't keep his eyes open anymore and falls
asleep.

The omega doesn't know how late it is when he wakes up again, but he feels how someone
gently places a blanket over him.
"Jeongguk?" he asks and carefully opens his eyes.

They're not in the living room anymore, Jimin now laying in his bed and Jeongguk standing
next to him with a soft smile on his face.

"Sorry, I didn't want to wake you up, but you were sleeping so peacefully that I just carried
you over here. Keep sleeping, Jimin. Good night."

When Jeongguk is about to turn around and leave, Jimin grabs his wrist and looks at him with
apologetic eyes.

"Please, don't go. Can you stay? Just for tonight," he mumbles, wanting the warm body next
to him again. It's probably Jimin's sleepy mind that only thinks about that one night where he
slept in Jeongguk’s bed and how good it was.

"Oh," the alpha blushes. "Yeah, sure."

Jimin makes room for Jeongguk to lay down next to him under the blanket. Jimin turns
around, silently asking to get spooned. Jeongguk just quietly laughs in response and carefully
wraps an arm around Jimin’s body, holding the omega against him.

"Better?" he whispers into Jimin’s ear. His breath tickles his skin and a warm feeling spreads
through Jimin’s body, which he just ignores in his sleepy state.

"So much better," the blond boy mumbles before he closes his eyes again.

Deep inside he knows that the next morning he’ll hate his tired self for being so desperate for
cuddles, but at the moment he couldn't care less. Feeling Jeongguk's strong body against his
own while his amazing scent lingers in Jimin's nose is more than worth it.

Jeongguk and Seokjin meet for lunch during their break a few days later. On days like these,
when there is little going on, they even manage to meet at a restaurant outside the hospital.

"So," Seokjin grins after they both order. "Tae told me that Jimin and you were cuddling?"

"He just can’t keep things to himself!" laughs Jeongguk.

"I'm his mate, of course he tells me everything! So, tell me, how did it happen?"

"Jimin was scared of the thunderstorm and cuddling helped to calm him down. But to be
honest," Jeongguk hesitates before continuing. "That wasn't the only time..."

"Ooh, what do you mean?"

"Well, I thought it was a one-time thing at first too. Not that I found it awkward or anything,
but we haven't known each other that long and I didn't pressure Jimin. But a few days ago it
happened again while we were watching a movie. At some point he fell asleep and I carried
him to his room. And then...well, he asked me to stay..." says Jeongguk with reddened
cheeks.
"Alright," Seokjin laughs. "I mean we both know you like to cuddle, and from what Tae told
me, Jimin is no different. It's nice that you guys are so familiar and comfortable with each
other."

"Yes definitely! I've been living alone for so long that I'd almost forgotten how nice it can be
to come home when there's someone already waiting for you. And especially since we've all
been so busy, it's hard to find time for each other. I just want Jimin to feel really
comfortable."

"I think he does, or he wouldn't have asked you to stay that night," the older man smirks.
"Just be careful, okay? I know you guys are friends, but please don't forget that sooner or
later Jimin will return to the forest. That doesn't mean you’ll completely lose contact, but
you'll be alone again."

"Yeah, I know," Jeongguk sighs. "I'm just enjoying the time we have together. After all, I
never thought we'd become so close when Tae suggested he move in with me back then. But
we're comfortable with the situation right now, that's the most important thing."

"Of course! But I know you and I know how quickly you let other people into your heart. I
just don't want you to end up hurt," Seokjin says, looking at him sadly.

His best friend isn't wrong about that, but Jeongguk is aware that the situation is only
temporary and Jimin will soon be reunited with his family and pack. But the omega is just so
nice, and sweet, and makes Jeongguk feel like someone likes him just the way he is. He
knows that the two will never be more than friends. At this point, he wants nothing more than
to enjoy his time with Jimin and just hopes that they can remain friends in the future. Due to
his job, it's not easy for Jeongguk to have a personal life, or even make new friends, which is
why he's so grateful that Jimin has come into his life.

"Don't worry, hyung. I'll take care of myself!" Jeongguk assures him.

"Okay, good." His best friend smiles. "So have you heard anything new from the rescue team
yet?"

"Unfortunately not," Jeongguk sighs. "Tae called them again yesterday, but they're still
looking. The weather isn't that good anymore and it's getting dark earlier, so they don't have
as much time to search during the day. I just hope they find his parents soon, I can tell how
Jimin is stressing about the situation."

"Yes, understandable. It must be awful not knowing where your family is, I don't even want
to imagine how he must be feeling."

"Well, he's handling it better now. At first I heard him crying himself to sleep sometimes and
it broke my heart. But since we found out they're alive, thanks to Tae's mom, he's been doing
a lot better. It's just the waiting that makes him nervous and restless. Sometimes I wish I
could do more for him," Jeongguk confesses.
"Mm, yeah I understand. What do you think about having dinner with everyone? I'm sure that
would be fun and distract Jimin for a few hours," the older man suggests.

"That's a good idea! I mean of course we should ask Jimin first if it's okay for him to meet the
others, but I think it would be good for him. Thanks, Seokjin!"

"No worries, that's what I'm here for as your hyung," he laughs.

The two spend the rest of their lunch break planning dinner and texting their friends. They all
agree right away, perhaps because they want to finally meet Jimin. It's been a while since
they've all met, and this is a perfect opportunity. Jeongguk just hopes that Jimin will like his
friends, and hopefully they won't embarrass him, which unfortunately they love to do.
Seojkjin and Jeongguk plan to have dinner at Jeongguk's house soon, and when he tells Jimin
about their idea later at home, he immediately agrees.

Becoming a doctor has always been Jeongguk's biggest dream, perhaps because he had his
mother, who is a doctor herself, as a role model. Being a student has been a hard time, but
when he finally made it, he was so happy. Being able to help people is another reason why he
loves this profession so much, but it also means that he can't always help everyone.
Patients like Hyunjin, who are the same age as Jeongguk, are always especially close to him.
For months they have been trying to help the young man, but no therapy really works.

Today is another day when Jeongguk had to tell his patient that the last therapy did not work
either and that they have to keep searching. It’s the reason why he’s extremely frustrated,
angry and sad when he comes home to Jimin late in the evening.

Sighing, he takes off his shoes in the entryway, hangs up his jacket, and goes straight to the
guest room.

"Hey, how was your day?" Jimin asks, looking up from his book with a smile. However, it
immediately disappears when he sees Jeongguk's sad face and the dark circles under his eyes.

"Could have gone better," the alpha mutters.

"You want to tell me what happened?"

"Yeah, just let me take a quick shower," Jeongguk says.

Jimin just nods before the alpha leaves the room again to take a hot shower. As the water
rains over his body, he closes his eyes and is once again thankful for not being alone at the
moment. Especially on days like these, it's nice to come home and have someone to talk to.
He could call Seokjin, Taehyung, or one of his other friends, but it's not the same as laying in
bed with Jimin after his shower.

"So," Jimin begins, putting his book aside to give Jeongguk his full attention. "What
happened?"
"Do you remember Hyunjin, the patient I told you about?"

Jimin nods and lifts the blanket. Without hesitation, Jeongguk settles under it and closer to
Jimin.

"The new therapy didn't work again, and we're running out of options," he sighs.

Jimin looks at him sympathetically and carefully takes Jeongguk's hand. "I know it must be
frustrating, but you're doing your best, it's not your fault!"

"I know..." Jeongguk mumbles, looking down at their hands, how much smaller Jimin's hand
is and how they still fit together perfectly. "It's just… he's so young, and I just want him to
finally get better. Every time I talk to him and his mom is around I can see the fear in her
eyes of losing Hyunjin one day." Jeongguk knows he should remain professional, yet tears
form in his eyes.

"Hey...it's going to be okay," Jimin says as he realizes how sad he is.

Jeongguk can't hold it in anymore and buries his face against Jimin's shoulder before he
quietly starts to cry. The omega puts his arm around him and gently strokes his back.

"You are a great doctor and I hope that you can help him. But even if you don't, it's not your
fault and you did your best. You help so many people every day, just like you helped me, so
please don't blame yourself."

"I know...but it's so frustrating," Jeongguk murmurs before disengaging from Jimin's
shoulder. "Sometimes it's just too much and you feel so helpless. I love my job and I'm so
grateful that I get to help others, but especially with cases like Hyunjin's, when the patient is
so young it just gets extremely close to you."

"I know, but I'm sure he's also grateful for everything you've already done for him. Don't give
up, okay?" says Jimin, smiling and stroking Jeongguk's cheek with his free hand.

"Thank you Jimin, that means a lot to me," Jeongguk replies, looking into his eyes.

Jimin is one of those people you can trust right away, and who makes you feel like everything
will be okay. Some days Jeongguk wishes he could have met Jimin earlier and under different
circumstances.

"You said your mom is a doctor too, why don't you ask her?" the omega suggests while
continuing to hold Jeongguk.

"Mm, I don't know if she knows anything about that, but I can give it a try. It's been some
time since I saw her last. She's been nagging me for weeks about how she doesn’t see me
often enough," Jeongguk laughs softly

"Then it's time to visit her. And I'm sorry if I stopped you from doing that..." Jimin mumbles,
looking away shyly.
"What, no you didn't!" Jeongguk denies. "You're not the reason for this! She lives in another
part of Korea, which is why we don't see each other that often."

"Oh. Still, it's a pity that you can only see each other so rarely. I'm sure she's very busy too."

"More or less. Since she has her own doctor’s office and no longer works at the hospital
things have gotten better," the alpha explains.

"Was she the reason you became a doctor?" Jimin asks curiously.

"Partly, yes," Jeongguk nods. "You know, my father left her while she was still pregnant. She
had just finished college at the time, and it definitely wasn't easy for her. But my mom is such
a strong woman and managed to raise me while healing people. I think that's why she's my
biggest role model, she showed me that I can do anything."

"She really sounds like she's a wonderful person."

"She is," Jeongguk says with a smile. "Maybe you'll get to meet her one day."

"I would be very happy to," Jimin admits, also smiling.

The two spend the rest of the evening in Jimin's bed watching another movie, Jeongguk
continuing to snuggle close to the omega until the two fall asleep.

When Jimin wakes up the next morning, Jeongguk is still sleeping peacefully next to him.
Smiling, he looks at the alpha and carefully brushes aside a few strands that have fallen into
his face during sleep. Even though it saddened him to see Jeongguk so down last night, Jimin
is glad that he could be the one to comfort him this time. It shows him that Jeongguk trusts
him as much as Jimin trusts Jeongguk. He only wishes he could have done more.

One thing in particular bothered him. Jimin is aware that scenting is something very intimate,
but when Jeongguk was in his arms he felt the need to scent him. He is also aware that it was
the right thing to hold back, yet he can't shake the feeling that it bothers him. Maybe it's
because Jimin himself hasn't been scented since the fire and misses it more and more every
day, but he has to be patient and wait until his family is finally found. Still, he wants to do
something to lift Jeongguk's mood, which is why he grabs his phone from the nightstand and
opens his chat with Taehyung.

Jimin: I need your help.

It only takes a few minutes for Taehyung to answer.

Tae: Good morning to you too Jimin :) What do you need my help with?

Jimin: I want to do something for Jeongguk. I was thinking that maybe we could do
something together but I have no idea what :(
Tae: Mm...you could go to the city.

Jimin: Really? Do you think Jeongguk likes that?

Tae: Yeah, he's been wanting to go shopping for a while, especially at that manga store. Don't
think too much about it, just suggest it and I'm sure you guys will have a nice day there.

Jimin: Okay, thanks :)

Later at breakfast, when Jimin tells Jeongguk about his idea, Jeongguk is thrilled and
immediately agrees. Today is one of the few days Jeongguk has off during the week, so the
two decide to take full advantage of the day.

They get ready and then drive to the city. Once there, Jimin is excited about the different
stores that are available. First they visit some clothing stores, where Jeongguk buys things for
himself but also for Jimin, which he reluctantly accepts. The alpha must have spent so much
money on him already, and Jimin knows full well that he will never be able to pay him back,
but Taehyung had assured him not to worry about that. Their last stop is the manga store
Taehyung had mentioned.

"Oh wow, they even have the new One Piece volume already!" says Jeongguk excitedly,
walking over to one of the ceiling-high shelves.

"One Piece?" asks Jimin, following him.

"Yes, it’s a manga that's been in production for quite a few years! I've seen the whole series
but only read some of the books!"

Jimin smiles at the sight of an excited and carefree Jeongguk. He knows that even though the
Alpha loves his work, he is often stressed. So it's nice to see that he can switch off and enjoy
his free time. Taehyung was right, a day out on the town was definitely the right idea.

They spend almost an hour in the store before Jeongguk decides on some manga he wants to
buy. Afterwards, he suggests going to Han River, since Jimin only knows it from photos so
far.

"We can buy ramen at one of the stores there and eat by the river. Sounds simple, but I love
the atmosphere, it reminds me at least a little of the beach back home in Busan," Jeongguk
tells him as they walk to the river.

"You grew up by the sea?" asks Jimin with wide eyes.

"Yes, Busan is by the sea. Sometimes I miss it, but my life is here now. Still, I go to the beach
every time I visit my mom. It's really nice there."

"I've never been to the sea..." admits Jimin quietly. "I only know descriptions and pictures
from books."
"One day you'll see it, I promise!" says Jeongguk with a grin.

Just before they arrive, the two buy ramen at a store and then sit down on the grass by the
river.

"It's really beautiful..." admits Jimin, looking out at the river and slowly watching the sun set.

"Yeah, when I was a student I used to come here almost every day. One day I'll buy a
apartment right here!" says Jeongguk pointing to one of the buildings right by the river. "If
everything goes well, I'll get a promotion soon, and maybe by next year I’ll be able to afford
one already."

"It sure would be nice to live right here," Jimin agrees with a smile.

"Yes, for sure...," Jeongguk sighed. "What about you? I know you guys live mostly in the
forest, but have you always been in one place?"

"No. We moved with the pack a total of two times. The first time I was a baby though, so I
don't really remember anything," Jimin laughs. "But when I was about 12 we moved again. In
the place where we lived then, there were fewer and fewer plants and animals to feed on. We
depended on being able to hunt and gather, but in the last few decades that's become more
and more difficult."

"And why is that?"

"Well," Jimin sighs, "people are taking less and less care of the environment and nature. A lot
of plants now grow in only a few places and many animals have retreated to safer areas. That
was the reason why my parents thought about moving to one of the small villages outside the
city. We would still have been in contact with nature there, but it wouldn't be the same, you
know?"

"Yes, I understand what you mean. And I'm sorry that life has become so difficult for you
guys. I think we here in the cities don't realize the damage we're doing."

"Sometimes that's why I just wish the communication between city and forest wolves would
be better, just so there would be more understanding of each other," Jimin says sadly.

"Maybe someday that will be possible! And I still hope you guys find a nice new place to
live," Jeongguk says.

"Thank you," Jimin replies with a smile.

The two enjoy their ramen while the sun slowly disappears until only the moon is visible in
the sky. Since it has become so cold by now, Jimin is totally frozen by the time they arrive
back home.

"Do you want to sleep with me tonight? You're shivering all over," Jeongguk says, looking
worriedly at Jimin.

At first he wants to say no, but then he remembers last night and how they trust each other.
"If it's okay with you, I'd love to."

"Of course. You go to bed already, I'll make you some tea," Jeongguk says, gently stroking
Jimin's arm.

The omega is still worried about his parents, but today made him forget his worries, at least
for a few hours. Jeongguk also seems to be feeling better. His gentle smile and the sparkle in
his eyes are finally back.

The longer Jimin has to wait for his family, and the more he doesn't know when he will
finally see them again, the harder it gets. The fact that he hasn't been scented for months
especially depresses him more and more. At first, he thought about asking Taehyung, but he's
mated, and since he hasn't seen Seokjin since the hospital, he doesn't want to put them in an
awkward situation. Asking Jeongguk would also be inappropriate. Though they are friends,
he is still an alpha, and Jimin is unsure if scenting wouldn't cross a line. Because they live
together, their scents are always mixed together somewhat, but scenting is something much
more intimate. What if Jeongguk is also currently looking for someone, but other wolves
would then be put off by Jimin's scent on him? However, his inner wolf wants him to just ask
Jeongguk, which he just ignored until today. Maybe it's also the fact that Jimin is going to
meet Jeongguk's other friends for the first time tomorrow night at dinner that makes him
nervous, so he craves it even more.

Jimin does his best not to let on what's going on, but when they lie in Jeongguk's bed together
that evening, as they do almost every night by now, it's especially hard.

"Jimin, are you okay?" asks Jeongguk cautiously while the omega lies with his head on his
chest and his eyes already closed.

"Mm, why?" mumbles Jimin.

"I don't know, I've had a feeling for days that something was bothering you."

Jimin had hoped so hard that the Alpha wouldn't notice anything. "It's nothing... everything's
fine..."

"Jimin, of course I understand that there are things you may just not be able or want to talk to
me about, but I just want you to be okay," Jeongguk says worriedly, gently stroking Jimin's
back.

"I know, but...no, you can't," Jimin stops and buries his face in Jeongguk's chest, to which he
smiles gently.

"Jimin..."

The omega doesn't reply, but ignores him.

"Jiminie, come on," Jeongguk continues, not giving up.

"Alright," Jimin says with a sigh, lifting his head a little so he can look at Jeongguk. "I miss
being scented, okay?" he finally admits with reddened cheeks.

"Oh… oh yeah, I understand. It must have been a while since you were last scented. But why
didn't you say anything or ask Tae?"

"I don't know. Probably because Tae is mated and I didn't dare, I don't know. And in the end I
have to wait until my family is back," Jimin says sadly. "I'm sure they'll be found soon, and
until then I'll hold out."

Scenting is something very intimate and important to wolves. Whether it's between parents
and their children, between siblings, friends or partners, it's an integral part of their lives.
Smelling another wolf you trust and feel comfortable with provides security, but also offers
protection.

"I understand," Jeongguk murmurs. "Now please don't take this the wrong way, and I don't
want to cross a line or have you think anything wrong… but I could scent you if you want,"
the alpha suddenly suggests.

Jimin stares at him with big eyes, not knowing what to say at first.

"Why? I see us as friends but..."

"But scenting is something very intimate. I'm aware of that," Jeongguk finishes for Jimin.
"We live together, which is why some of our scents mix anyway. I used to do that a lot with
Jin, before he met Tae. I think between friends who trust each other it's perfectly okay, but in
the end you decide. I understand if you're not comfortable with it, but it would be fine with
me," he says with a smile.

Jimin hesitates, not knowing if he wants it himself. Jeongguk is right that it is normal among
friends; however, the last alpha who scented him, other than his father of course, was his ex.
Because he grew up in a pack, he could always ask his parents or sister, and only did it with
some of his friends when he was young. It may be a while before Jimin's family is found,
though, and he's especially nervous about dinner tomorrow.

"I think we can at least try it out, and I'll tell you when to stop?" the omega eventually
suggests.

"Of course! However you prefer. Just say ‘stop’ when you want me to stop," Jeongguk
agrees.

"Okay," Jimin nods. He takes a deep breath before sitting up a bit, closing his eyes and
leaning his head to the side so Jeongguk can better reach his neck.

The alpha leans forward carefully until Jimin feels his nose against the skin of his neck.

"Ready?" whispers Jeongguk, and a shiver runs down Jimin's spine, knowing what's about to
happen.
"Yes," he assures, and in the next moment Jeongguk begins to slowly run his nose over the
scent gland on Jimin's neck.

A wave of his dark chocolate scent washes over Jimin, and after so long of not being scented,
he can't help but moan softly in satisfaction. He's never had the chance to smell the alpha's
scent so intensely before, and to feel it cling to his own skin. Jeongguk continues to gently
rub his scent gland while still stroking Jimin's back with his free hand. The omega feels a few
tears roll down his cheeks in relief as he feels so incredibly safe and secure at this moment
thanks to Jeongguk.

Jeongguk continues like this for a few more minutes, until Jimin is sure he's going to smell
like the Alpha for at least the next few days.

"Everything good?" asks Jeongguk with a smile after he breaks away from Jimin.

Jimin opens his eyes again and nods with a bright smile. "Yes, more than fine! Thank you.
That really means a lot, Jeongguk."

"No need to thank me, Jimin. I'm glad I was able to help."

"Do you… want me to scent you too?" Jimin then asks without giving it a second thought. It's
his inner wolf telling him that he should now scent the alpha as well.

"What? No, you don't have to! I didn't mean to make you feel obligated to do anything,"
Jeongguk says, and this time he blushes slightly.

"I know," Jimin chuckles, "I don't know how long it's been with you, of course, but if it's
okay with you, I'd like to scent you too."

Jeongguk gulps but then nods. "Okay. Yes, I would like to."

Jimin slowly leans forward until he's in the right position and then slowly begins to run his
hand over the skin over Jeongguk's scent gland.

The moment Jimin's scent gets stronger, he feels Jeongguk's hand claw into the fabric of his
sweater at the small of his back and he lets out a low moan.

Jimin tears his eyes open and stares directly at Jeongguk's pulsating scent gland as he feels
some slick slowly leaking out of his hole. The reason is probably because he himself has just
been scented, and because of the way Jeongguk has reacted to him. Maybe it's also a little bit
because the last time Jimin had sex was a long time ago, and his body reacted accordingly.

Jimin finally breaks away from Jeongguk and looks at him with bright red cheeks.
"I… I have to go to the bathroom for a minute," he mumbles and then walks as quickly as he
can to the bathroom. Jimin steps in front of the mirror and looks at himself, his eyes slightly
glazed over and his cheeks still flushed.
"Shit..." he mutters, turning on the faucet to cool his face with water.

When he had agreed to the scenting, he hadn't expected to get wet from it, and he fervently
hopes Jeongguk didn't notice. Jimin doesn't want the alpha to think anything wrong of him.
He just blames it on his body overreacting, maybe being a little too sensitive at that moment.
When he has calmed down a bit, he pulls down his pants, wets a piece of toilet paper and
wipes his hole clean. He waits a few more minutes until he leaves the bathroom again and
lies back with Jeongguk, looking embarrassed.

"Are you okay?" the alpha asks anxiously.

"Yeah, everything's fine! I just had to go to the bathroom," he explains. "Do you… want me
to keep going?" asks Jimin, hoping his body won't react so intensely this time.

"No, I'm good," Jeongguk smiles. "But thank you, that was nice. It's actually been a while for
me as well since I've been scented," he admits with reddened cheeks.

"Yeah, it can be a little overwhelming then," Jimin laughs, trying to cover up how
embarrassed he is about the whole thing. "But we should get some sleep now, tomorrow will
be busy."

"Yeah, you're right." Jeongguk settles into a comfortable position and looks at Jimin
expectantly.

It takes a moment for the omega to understand, but then he lies back down with his head on
Jeongguk's chest.

"Good night, Jimin," Jeongguk says, turning off the bedside lamp.

"Good night."

When only their soft breathing can be heard in the room, Jimin notices how Jeongguk's heart
is beating much faster than usual today. He tries not to think about it any further and focuses
on how he can finally smell another scent on his own body until he falls asleep after a few
minutes.

By scheduling the dinner on a day when Jeongguk is free and can prepare the meal in peace,
he and Jimin can sleep in the next day.

Jeongguk is the first of them to wake up in the late morning. Jimin lies with his back pressed
close to him so that the alpha has a clear view of his neck. He can't help but at least briefly
run his nose over it, enjoying how Jimin smells mostly of dark chocolate and his typical
cinnamon scent is only slightly present. Jeongguk himself smells more like Jimin instead,
which doesn't bother the alpha at all.
He remains lying there for a moment until he decides to get up to prepare breakfast for the
two of them.
Once in the kitchen, he makes himself a coffee and then begins to sauté the leftover rice with
kimchi while Jimin continues to sleep peacefully.
He is standing by the stove taking his last sip of coffee when suddenly his cell phone rings.

"Oh hey Joonie," Jeongguk says into the phone.

"Hey, little cousin. How's it going? Is everything ready for tonight?" asks his older cousin.

Namjoon and he have always been close, as his cousin's parents often babysat the alpha when
his mother had to work. To this day, they have a close relationship, even if they can't see each
other that often since Namjoon is also very busy with his job as a professor.

"No, it's just 10 o'clock," Jeongguk laughs. "But Jimin and I will get everything ready
together later. Is something wrong? Why are you calling?"

"I just wanted to know if everything is ready, and let you know I'm really looking forward to
finally meeting Jimin! Jin has already told me quite a bit about him," Namjoon says.
Jeongguk can hear his smirk.
Seokjin and Namjoon have become close friends over the years, so Jeongguk can't hide
anything from either of them.

"Figures," he rolls his eyes. "Just be nice, okay? He's very nervous right now because his
family could be found at any moment."

"I hope it won't be long! And until then, he'll have you and Tae."

Jeongguk immediately blushes when Namjoon mentions that. "Yes...of course..." he murmurs
softly.

"Huh? Is there something I need to know?" his cousin asks curiously.

"Maybe, but you have to promise me to stay quiet, alright?"

"Of course, so go ahead and tell me."

"Well, so last night Jimin wasn't feeling well. I think it's because he's so excited about today,
missing his parents...and he said he misses being scented," the alpha tells him.

"Oh Jeongguk. Please don't tell me you scented him now," Namjoon sighs.

"I did?" he admits sheepishly. "But we're friends and I just wanted to help him!"

"Yes, and your good heart will eventually be your kryptonite. Did it help at least?"

"I think so, it's just...well..." Jeongguk pauses, since he's so embarrassed to say what
happened. "It's been forever since I've been scented by another Omega besides my mom...and
I really didn't want it to happen, but..."

"Jeon Jeongguk, this was not the time to get hard!" Namjoon is almost yelling into the phone.
"I know, okay! But I couldn't control it, and in my defense, I'm pretty sure I could smell some
slick on Jimin."

"That doesn't make it any better," his cousin sighs again.

"It just happened. I was incredibly embarrassed, hopefully Jimin didn't notice. But I think our
wolves just reacted to each other. When I smelled his neck this morning nothing happened."

"Jeongguk, I understand that you meant well, but please pay attention. I'm glad that Jimin and
you seem to trust each other so much, but he won't stay and you know it."

"Yes of course. But Tae told me the same thing, and I assure you we are just friends! Jimin is
just such a gentle and kind person, you'll realize that yourself later," Jeongguk defends
himself.

"I hope so, just be careful. I have to go to my next lecture now, see you later."

"See you tonight," Jeongguk replies before hanging up and closing his eyes with a sigh.
He's well aware that it's only a matter of time before Jimin returns to the forest, but his wolf
feels so comfortable around the Omega that it's impossible to stay away. He knows that what
he is doing is dangerous and could lead to him ending up heartbroken, but now it is already
too late. Jimin has become an integral and important part of his life in such a short time, and
even though he suppresses any possible arising feelings as best he can, he secretly knows that
Jimin is slowly becoming more to him than a friend. Jeongguk would never admit that in
front of the others, though.

Just at that moment, he hears the bedroom door open, and Jimin enters the room.
Jeongguk kinda wishes he wouldn't have looked at him, as Jimin sleepily rubs his eyes,
wearing only a loose shirt and shorts that are far too short. The alpha hates Tae to this day for
buying Jimin those, because even if he really didn't want to look the first time Jimin wore
them, these shorts give a perfect view of Jimin's nice and full butt.

"Good morning, breakfast is almost ready," he greets the omega.

"Good morning," Jimin yawns sleepily, and then plods straight to Jeongguk, who he hugs
without hesitation.

Jeongguk is extremely surprised, but then returns the hug.

"What did I do to deserve this now?" he asks with a laugh.

"I'm cold and you're warm," Jimin mumbles while burying his head against Jeongguk's chest.

"Want me to get you a pair of your sweatpants?" the alpha asks, gently stroking his back.

"They're all in the wash," Jimin sighs.

"Mm, okay," is all he replies before breaking away from the omega. "Come with me."

Jeongguk grabs Jimin's hand and pulls him into his bedroom. There, he goes to the closet and
pulls out one of his sweaters and a pair of sweatpants for Jimin.
"Here, this should help," Jeongguk smiles as he gives both to Jimin.

"Thanks," Jimin returns the smile and quickly changes as Jeongguk looks away.

"Better?" he asks as Jimin finishes and has to grin since the pants are way too big for him, of
course.

The latter nods in satisfaction and they both go back to the kitchen, where they enjoy their
breakfast together.

Later that day, after they have already prepared everything for the dinner and Jeongguk is in
the kitchen finishing up the last things, Jimin stands in front of the mirror in the guest room
and examines himself.
He’s wearing tight black jeans and a loose white satin shirt that perfectly matches with his
blond hair. Jimin has always been someone who didn't care about clothes, but since he's been
living here and spending a lot of time with Taehyung, he’s discovered an interest in fashion.
While he still doesn't really understand how a single piece of clothing can be worth so much,
he likes the way the fabrics feel against his skin and accentuate every curve of his body.
Jimin runs a hand through his hair one last time before leaving the room and joining
Jeongguk in the kitchen.

"When are the others coming again?" he asks nervously. Jimin knows Jeongguk's friends will
be as nice and understanding as he is, but he just can't shake the nervousness off.

"They should be here anytime, actually," the alpha replies after glancing at the watch. As
always, he himself is wearing almost exclusively black, today a simple pair of jeans and a
grey and black chequered shirt.
The next moment, the doorbell rings. "Told you," Jeongguk laughs. "Why don't you sit on the
couch and I'll join you with the others in a minute."

"Okay," the omega nods and walks over to the living room.

From his place on the couch, he can see the Alpha open the door and greet his guests. He
already knows one of them, Hoseok, from the cafe. The man next to him is a little shorter and
has black hair, and the third one behind them is taller with dark brown hair.

"Jimin, this is Hoseok, his mate Yoongi, and my cousin Namjoon," Jeongguk introduces the
three as they join Jimin in the living room.

"Nice to see you again," Hoseok greets him directly with a hug.
"This is my mate Yoongi, he's also an omega," he points to the short man with black hair.

"Nice to meet you as well," he says in a low voice. His scent is very natural. He smells more
like an alpha, which Jimin has never seen before.

"Hi, I'm Namjoon," the other says, shaking Jimin's hand. "Jeongguk is my little cousin, I've
heard a lot about you," he adds with a grin.
"Joonie," Jeongguk sighs as the doorbell rings again. "That must be Jin and Tae, be right
back."

The three men sit down as well, Yoongi next to Hoseok and Namjoon in one of the
armchairs.

"We're really looking forward to finally meeting you properly," Hoseok begins the
conversation. "And I hope you enjoyed my cronut."

"Yes, it was delicious! And I'm glad to meet you as well," Jimin replies with a smile.

"I hope you're being nice to Jiminie," Taehyung says as he joins them with Seokjin and sits
down next to Jimin, his mate on the other side.
Jeongguk sits down on Jimin's other free side, for which he is more than grateful since being
next to the Alpha calms him down at least a bit.

"Everything’s fine with your leg?" Seokjin asks.

"Yes, the physical therapy helped a lot," Jimin nods.

All six of them get right into conversation after Jeongguk brings everyone a drink, sharing
stories about work and their lives. Jimin tries to get involved as much as possible, answering
questions that they ask him, and when Jeongguk puts his hand on Jimin's back to stroke him,
his tension is released even more. Jeongguk's and Taehyung's friends are incredibly nice to
him, and the longer they talk, the more comfortable he feels in their presence.

"I'm going to disappear into the kitchen for a bit, I'll let you know when dinner's ready,"
Jeongguk says, getting up to go to the kitchen.

"Jimin?" Taehyung asks once the alpha has disappeared.

"Yeah?" Jimin turns to him.

"You..." the other omega begins, sniffing at him lightly. "Oh my god!" He whispers. "Why do
you smell so much like Jeongguk?! What happened?"

Jimin turns bright red and looks away, embarrassed. He had hoped that no one would notice,
but Taehyung knows Jimin's smell too well.

"He scented me yesterday. Calm down, Tae," Jimin laughs nervously.

"Wow, stop stop stop! He did what? Wait a minute...you scented him too, that's why he smells
so much like you!" he says with wide eyes.

Jimin turns even redder and nervously plays with the thumb of his shirt. "Yes, I did...after he
finished with me, I wanted to do the same thing for him," he says sheepishly.

"I understand," Taehyung nods. "It's just...Jimin, scenting is extremely intimate, especially for
forest wolves, and...I just don't want either of you to end up getting hurt."
"Tae, no, it's not like that," Jimin says with wide eyes. "Of course I like Jeongguk and I trust
him, but we're just friends. It's just that I've been extremely lacking in scenting and...I can't
describe it, but my wolf trusts Jeongguk completely."

"Okay," Taehyung sighs. "I just want you guys to be okay," he smiles.

Jimin understands that Taehyung is worried and just wants to make sure everything is okay.
And maybe his worries would be justified in other circumstances, but the only thing Jimin
can think about right now is his family. His entire focus is on staying strong and continuing to
hope that they will all be united soon. Of course, he is aware that Jeongguk is very much the
type of man he is into, but at this point, the alpha, for Jimin, is someone he can trust and feel
comfortable with, and that's all he wants and can think about right now.

"Dinner's ready," Jeongguk calls from the kitchen, ending their conversation.

"Finally," Seokjin laughs.

After everyone is seated at the dining table and Jeongguk has served the food, the alpha raises
his wine glass. "To Jimin!"

"To Jimin," the others join in while the omega blushes and toasts with his water as well.

"Jimin?" asks Namjoon shortly after everyone has started eating. "I've read some stuff about
forest wolves, and Tae told us a lot, but doesn't your pack drink alcohol? I mean I read
something once about some packs making their own."

"Yes, that's right, and my pack does too," Jimin replies with a smile. "We make it from rice or
certain grains, depending on what we can find at the time."

"Mm, interesting. But you haven't tried wine or anything else we drink here?"

Jimin looks at his water glass and then back at Namjoon. "No, not yet," he replies sheepishly.
It's not that he has anything against alcohol, but so far it just hasn't come up to try wine or
anything like that that the wolves drink here.

"You should try the wine here, it's really tasty!" suggests Taehyung, holding out his glass to
Jimin.

The omega hesitates for a moment, since he hadn't actually planned on drinking alcohol
today, but maybe it will help with his nervousness, so he accepts.
He carefully tries a small sip, and then nods in satisfaction.

"It's really good! Reminds me a bit of a wine we brewed ourselves a few years ago."

"Would you like a glass of your own?" asks Jeongguk, to which Jimin nods with a smile.

In fact, the alcohol helps Jimin relax more and more as the evening goes on, even if he is a
little drunk towards the end.
"Jeonggukkie?" he grins at the alpha as the others are still helping bring things into the
kitchen before they leave.

"Mm?" just hums Jeongguk as he does the dishes.

Jimin doesn't think twice and just hugs him from behind, burying his head between
Jeongguk's shoulder blades. "Can I sleep with you tonight?"

The alpha looks over his shoulder at Jimin with a smile. "Of course," he immediately agrees,
kissing the omega on the head. Jimin giggles and wraps his arms around him even tighter,
enjoying the warmth his body radiates and the smell of the Alpha that Jimin has become so
used to by now.

"Okay, I think it's time for us to go," Taehyung laughs as he puts the remaining plates next to
the sink. "I'll call you tomorrow, Guk."

"Alright, thanks for being here. See you tomorrow," Jeongguk replies.

"Sleep well, Jimin," Taehyung says to the omega, patting his head briefly before leaving the
apartment just like the others, and Jimin hears the door close.

"Why don't you go get ready for bed, I'll be right there when I'm done here," Jeongguk says
as he washes the last plate.

"Alright," Jimin sighs, breaking away from him.

The combination of alcohol and fatigue causes him to almost fall asleep while brushing his
teeth, and when he's finally in bed he just feels the alpha lay down with him before he finally
falls asleep.

It's Tuesday morning and Jimin, having just woken up, is standing in the kitchen to make
himself a cup of tea when his phone suddenly rings.

"Good morning, Tae," he accepts the call.

"Jimin, they found your family!" the other omega nearly screams into the phone.

"What?! They found… Tae, please tell me this isn't a dream," Jimin whispers, already feeling
the first tears rolling down his cheeks.

"It's true! They were found earlier, but couldn't reach you or Jeongguk, which is why they
called me. Your family is being taken to the hospital here in Seoul right now, where Jinnie is
already waiting for them. He will then call you later once they arrive," Taehyung tells me
excitedly.

"Tae...I...they're back," Jimin sobs overwhelmed.

"It's going to be okay Jimin. Go to Jeongguk and wake him up, I'll call you later," Taehyung
says soothingly.

"Okay, see you later," the omega replies before hanging up with shaking hands.

He just stares at his phone for a moment as he still can't quite comprehend that this is really
happening. For what feels like an eternity, he's been waiting to finally see his family again, to
know that they're okay, and today is the day, now everything will be okay.

Then Jimin finally puts the phone down and sprints into Jeongguk's bedroom, where he
throws himself on the bed, waking up the alpha.

"They found my family!" he says excitedly as tears continue to stream down his cheeks.

Jeongguk looks at him sleepily and rubs his eyes until he suddenly opens them wide and
stares at Jimin.

"Wait, like...what?" he just says, confused.

"Tae...he...the rescue team called him because we left our phones in the living room
yesterday...and they found my family," Jimin sobs.
"Oh my god...Jimin!" the Alpha then exclaims excitedly, pulling Jimin into his arms.
Jimin buries his face against Jeongguk's shoulder and just cries, but this time because of
happiness. All the worries he's had for the last months are finally gone. His family is fine, the
rest of his pack is fine, they all survived this traumatic event. They will all be able to be
together again.

Jimin breaks away from Jeongguk's shoulder and looks deep into the alpha's eyes. The man
who saved him, who took him in without hesitation and gave him a home, who was always
there for him. A pleasant warm feeling spreads through his body, his heart beats faster and for
the first time this oppressive feeling that has always accompanied him is gone.
He gets closer to Jeongguk's face until he can feel the warm breath of the alpha on his skin.
Jimin doesn’t exactly know what he feels at this moment, but it feels incredibly good and
without thinking any further about it, he presses his lips gently on Jeongguk's.

At first the alpha freezes, but then Jimin can feel him relax and finally kisses him back. His
lips are so gentle and the way he holds Jimin in his arms makes him feel safe and secure. The
kiss doesn't last long, but is the most beautiful one Jimin has ever had in his life.

"Jimin...I...I don't know if we should do this," Jeongguk then says, slightly worried. "I don't
want to take advantage of the situation right now and have you regret it later."

Hearing that and being rejected by the alpha hurts a lot at first. But Jimin understands his
concern that this is just happening because he’s so happy and grateful for Jeongguk's help.
However, that's not why Jimin kissed him, but because his feelings told him to. He himself
doesn't really know why he suddenly felt the need to do that and where this new feeling
comes from, but the omega doesn't want it to go away.

"No, it's not like that..." replies Jimin, putting a hand to Jeongguk's cheek where he gently
strokes the small scar the alpha has had since childhood. "I can't describe it, but it feels good
and...please kiss me again..." he whispers.
Jeongguk hesitates for a moment, but then he puts his hand on the back of Jimin's neck and
pulls the omega into another kiss.
Jimin wraps his arms around Jeongguk's neck, enjoying the way their lips slowly move
against each other, fitting together so perfectly. Never before has anyone kissed him with
such affection and devotion, but Jimin could do this for hours.

Eventually, when their lips are already slightly swollen, they separate again.
"Hey," Jeongguk says with a smile, brushing a few strands of hair from Jimin's face. "Are
you okay?"
"Mm," Jimin nods, "More than fine! And you?" he asks as he runs his hand through
Jeongguk's hair at the back of his head.

"Yeah, everything's perfect. Do you know when your family will arrive or where they'll be
taken?"

"Taehyung said they will be taken to the hospital here in Seoul and that Jin will be waiting for
them there. He will also call us when we can get there."
"That means you'll see them again today!" Jeongguk smiles. "What do you think, I will make
us some breakfast while you take a nice hot bath?"

Jimin nods with a smile and pecks Jeongguk before he gets up and disappears into the
bathroom.

Only when he lies in the hot water and closes his eyes he slowly realises what has happened.
Jeongguk and he kissed.
When Jimin woke up in the hospital over two months ago, he never thought something like
this would happen. At the time, it felt like his whole life had been destroyed and that he
would never be happy again.
But then came Jeongguk and Taehyung, who helped him cope during the time without his
family or pack. Especially Jeongguk, who took in a stranger, will always be Jimin's hero and
savior.
Still, he can't really place the feeling he had during the kiss and he can't explain to himself
how that could happen. The only thing he knows is that it felt incredibly good and that he
wants to do it again. Whatever is between them, now that Jimin's family is back he feels like
allowing himself to have any feelings for Jeongguk. He just hopes the alpha is willing to do
so as well and doesn't regret the kiss.

Driving to the hospital to finally see his family again, Jimin is super happy on one hand, but
also nervous.
Seokjin had called them in the late afternoon that his parents and sister were there and
finished with a general checkup, so Jimin and Jeongguk can come in.

"It's going to be okay, baby," Jeongguk says, gently stroking Jimin's thigh as they stop at a
red light.

There it is again. That warm feeling when Jeongguk calls him baby, which makes Jimin smile
right away.
"I know, still it's kind of weird seeing her again after so long."

"I understand that, but Jin said on the phone that they can't wait to see you again. Besides, I'm
also looking forward to finally meeting your family!"

"Are you sure that's what you want? I mean they'll want to thank you for sure, but I would
never force you to do that," Jimin says worriedly.

"I know, but I want to see who raised such a great person like you," Jeongguk smiles and
leans over the center console to give Jimin a kiss on the cheek before continuing to drive.

To Jimin's relief, the drive to the hospital doesn't take long, and as they enter the ward where
he himself lay not long ago and now his parents are waiting for him, his heart beats as fast as
if it wants to escape from his chest.

Jeongguk seems to notice, because he stops and holds Jimin by the hand just before they are
in front of the room.
"Relax, you'll see them again in a minute, but you're so nervous, are you sure everything's
fine?" he asks worriedly.

Jimin stares at him for a moment before tilting his neck slightly to the side, exposing his
scent gland. He's been smelling mostly like Jeongguk for days anyway, since they've been
scenting whenever they feel like it. It's the only thing that can calm him down at this moment,
even though Jimin knows his parents will be confused.

Jeongguk leans down and slowly runs his nose over Jimin's skin. He understands that his
smell will irritate Jimin's family, which is why he only does it briefly, but that alone helps the
omega to become much calmer.
"It's going to be okay, I'm with you," he says, kissing Jimin's forehead.

"Thank you," Jimin smiles, "Okay I'm ready, let's go in."

The alpha nods and together they walk the last few feet. In front of the door, Jimin takes
another deep breath and then slowly opens it.

He cautiously looks inside and sees his mother and sister sitting together on the bed, his
father next to them in a chair.

"Oh my God..." his mother gasps when she notices him.

"Mom," Jimin whispers as he walks right up to his mother and falls into her arms.

"My Jiminie," she sobs, hugging her son for the first time in months.

Jimin clings to his mother and lets his tears run free, the fear that it's all just a dream and he's
losing her again far too overwhelming. Then he feels another person hugging him from the
side, from the smell he directly recognizes his little sister Hyuna.

The three hold each other tightly for several minutes, while Jeongguk now enters the room as
well.
When Jimin finally calms down a bit, he breaks away from his mother and stands up to
finally hug his father as well.

"Thanks for taking care of them, Dad," Jimin whispers.

"I would never forgive myself if anything happened to any of you," his father replies,
hugging his son tightly once more before letting him go.

"This is Jeon Jeongguk, by the way, the alpha I'm staying with at the moment and he's also
the doctor who took care of me when I arrived here," Jimin explains, pointing at Jeongguk.

"It's nice to finally meet you," Jeongguk bows.

"That explains the smell," Jimin's sister chuckles.

Jimin and Jeongguk both blush a little and look away, embarrassed.
"Hyuna," his mother says, shaking her head. "This kid…"

"Thank you so much for helping our son, I wish we could thank you somehow," Jimin's
father says with gratitude.

"There's really no need, I'm glad I could help and they finally found you," Jeongguk smiles.

The two stay a little longer until Jeongguk leaves so Jimin can have some time alone with his
family.

"Text me if you need me or want me to pick you up, baby," Jeongguk whispers as he hugs
Jimin and then leaves the room.

Being back with his family still feels like a dream to Jimin. At first he didn't think he'd ever
see them again, but now they all sit on the bed together and tell each other what happened
during the time they were apart.
His parents are happy to hear that he has met Taehyung again and insist on seeing him again
as well.
Jimin is glad they don't ask any more questions about Jeongguk, since he doesn’t really know
how to explain what’s going on between them. They just kissed for the first time today, and
on top of that, Jimin finally has his family back, which is why his emotions are a mess.
Maybe it would be easier if they hadn't kissed, but at that moment Jimin just listened to his
heart, which told him it was the right thing to do.
But all he wants to focus on for now is his family, and how happy they are to hear that there
were people taking care of him while they couldn’t.

"Jeonggukie?" Jimin whispers as he is already in bed with the alpha. "Thank you for
everything! I don't know what I would have done without your and Tae's help. I still can't
believe I finally got to hold my family again today."

"Jimin, I was happy to do it!" Jeongguk replies, gently running his hand over Jimin's back as
he lays on the alpha. "I'm just glad your family was found and hopefully everything will be
okay now. I'll continue to be there for you," Jeongguk adds before kissing Jimin gently.

The omega is so overjoyed at this moment and slides a little higher to kiss Jeongguk better.
Except for a few short kisses when they were back home, the two haven't had a chance to
repeat what they did this morning, so they enjoy it all the more and take their time this time.

Everything starts with gentle kisses and touches until they become more heated.
Jimin opens his mouth slightly and Jeongguk understands immediately, so he lets his tongue
slide slowly into Jimin's mouth.
Their tongues explore each other and Jimin can't help but moan softly into Jeongguk's mouth
again and again.

When everything is quiet and Jimin hears Jeongguk's breathing evens out until he falls
asleep, he finally understands what's going on.
All the weeks his wolf has already felt so comfortable around the alpha and he has constantly
sought his closeness was not because Jeongguk is such a good friend to him.
Jimin realizes that he's had feelings for him all along, but suppressed them because he was
constantly worried about his family. It is only now that he has finally seen them again that he
can allow the feelings for the first time.
A single tear rolls down his cheek as he now understands that he is about to fall in love with
the Alpha.
Of course, your future is uncertain, but Jimin just got his family back and doesn't want to
think about having to lose someone again. Jeongguk is here with him, that's the only thing
that matters to him at this moment.

Jimin spends as much time as he can with his family over the next two weeks. The day after
they arrive, they move into a hotel and even though he protests to stay with them, his mother
is able to convince him to stay with Jeongguk for the time being.

"The room here is too small for four people and I think Jeongguk will be happy to keep
seeing you in the evenings. Besides, you can come here anytime you want," his mother
encourages him.

And she is definitely right. Although it costs him a lot to leave his family behind in the hotel
every evening, he always looks forward to spending time with Jeongguk.
Their evening always consists of lots of kissing and cuddling until they fall asleep peacefully
in bed together.

When Jimin meets his mother for breakfast one Tuesday morning because she insisted on
spending time alone with him, he feels like nothing can destroy his current happiness.

"I recommend the cronuts, they're really super delicious," Jimin says as they sit down at a
table in Hoseok and Yoongi's café.

"Cronut?" his mother asks, confused.

"Yeah, trust me you'll love them. I'll order us some tea to go with it, they have the best here!"

"Okay, I'll just have to trust you on that one," she laughs.
They both have a relaxed breakfast together and his mother is just as excited about the cronut
as Jimin was a few weeks ago.

"I'm glad we can spend some time together again, but...I also wanted to discuss something
with you."

"Oh, what?" Jimin asks, sipping on his tea.

"I was able to speak with the others of the pack yesterday, and we decided to return to the
forest as soon as we can. The others have been in the cities far too long and it's time to get
home."

"Oh," Jimin gulps, "and when would that be?" he asks cautiously.

"Normally we wouldn't do something like this until spring, but thanks to Taehyung, I was
able to talk to his pack. You know our packs have been getting smaller and smaller for years,
so we decided to form a joint pack in the future and we want to travel to them next week." his
mother explains.

Jimin feels his heart tighten painfully. He knew they would eventually return to the forest, but
he thought Jeongguk and he would have more time.

"Jimin, I know the decision must be hard for you," his mother says with compassion, taking
his hand.

"Decision? Mom, no," he says immediately. "You're my family, my pack, and after
everything that's been, I can't just leave you alone."

"I understand that, but I also understand that you've found someone here who makes you
really happy. We would never force you to choose between him and us, no matter what you
will do, we will always support you. But I see how he looks at you and you look at him, do
you really want to end this?" she asks worriedly.

"Yes...No...I don't know," Jimin mumbles. "Yes, he means a lot to me and makes me so
happy, but so do you. And I can't just let you guys go again, especially since that would mean
continuing to live in the city, and I don't know if I can do that."

"Well, you don't have to decide right now, okay? Talk to Jeongguk or Taehyung, but no
matter how you decide, we will always love and support you," the Omega's mother smiles.

Jimin didn't think he would have to decide right away and that they would have more time
together. On the one hand, the thought of finally being able to live in the forest again makes
him happy, but on the other hand, it makes him incredibly sad because this means he will lose
Jeongguk.

He tries not to think about it for the rest of the morning and after bringing his mother back to
the hotel, he immediately calls Taehyung.
Up until that moment, he was able to keep it together, but when the other Omega answers the
phone, it all becomes too much for Jimin and he bursts into tears.
"Tae...I..." he sobs into the phone.

"Jimin, what's wrong?!" Taehyung asks worriedly.

"Please pick me up at the hotel. I...I..."

"Shh it's okay, I'll be there as soon as I can! No matter what happened, everything will be
fine," Taehyung tries to reassure him.

Jimin hangs up and then just waits until the other Omega arrives, while tears continue to roll
down his face.

When he finally sits in the car with Taehyung, he looks at Jimin with concern written all over
his face.

"Oh Jimin, let's go to the apartment first and then you tell me what happened," he says as he
drives off.

At the apartment, things get worse as the smell of the alpha is even more intense here.

Taehyung leads him to the couch where they both sit down.

"Do you want some tea?"

"No, thanks," Jimin declines.

"Okay, but what happened? Is your family okay?"

"Yeah, they're fine," Jimin sighs, wiping away the tears even though he knows new ones will
follow right behind. "But my mother told me that we will be returning to the forest next
week."

"Oh, I see," Taehyung mutters. "But why so soon? It's winter."

"They talked to your pack and decided that our pack will live together in the future. Of
course, that makes me happy and I'm glad to finally see your parents again, but..."

"But that means you need to leave Jeongguk?," Taehyung continues.

Jimin had already told him what happened and even though Taehyung was a little worried, he
was happy for them. Neither of them would have thought at that point that Jimin's pack
would be going back to the forest next week already and that the two of them would have
more time to figure out what they want from each other and how the thing between them can
work.

"I don't know what to do, Tae," Jimin sobs, "I want to be with my family and our pack, but I
don't want to lose Jeongguk either."

"I know," Taehyung says sympathetically, putting an arm around Jimin. "I was afraid
something like this might happen, but definitely not this fast and that you guys would have
more time to find a solution."

"But now..." the omega mutters, burying his face against Taehyung's neck.

"Ultimately, it's your decision and I understand how important your pack is to you. Besides, it
would be a huge adjustment to live here permanently, something like that is never easy. But I
know Jeongguk and he could never give up his job and life here."

"I know that," Jimin sighs, "and I would never ask him to! He told me how his mother had to
fight for them both and for him to pursue his dream."

"Yeah, she's a really strong woman. Plus, he has his patients who depend on him and...to be
honest I don't know if he would be able to change his lifestyle that much. When I compare
the time in the forest with the time here, I couldn't do it as well, and I grew up in the forest.
While there are moments when I miss being in nature, I have so many more opportunities
here. That doesn't mean it has to be the same for you, and like I said, it's your choice."

"But I don't know how to decide," Jimin says, looking at Taehyung with exasperation.

"I'm afraid I can't help you much here, but I would advise you to talk to Jeongguk about it
when he gets home from his shift tomorrow. Maybe you'll find a solution, but it's okay if you
decide against him and for the pack. And I'm sure whatever you decide, he'll understand."
Taehyung smiles.

"I hope so. We're just getting closer, I don't even know if this is going to work between us
yet. I just wish we had more time," Jimin says sadly.

"Me too," Taehyung sighs, hugging Jimin tightly.

Only when Taehyung has left, after they have spent the rest of the day together, does Jimin
have time to think about everything in peace.

Even his wolf is conflicted and can't help Jimin with this decision.

He wants to be with his family and his pack, needs to be able to make sure that they are okay
and that they will definitely make it through the winter, but it's hard for him to imagine a life
without Jeongguk.
The two had too little time together anyway, the concern for Jimin's family was always so
overwhelming that it took the omega a long time to realize what Jeongguk meant to him.

But he would never ask the latter to give up his entire life here, just as he knows Jeongguk
will let him go if Jimin asks him to. The thought of not waking up next to him in the
morning, of not being able to talk to each other, of not being able to smell the wonderful
smell of dark chocolate permanently, breaks Jimin's heart.
He lies awake for a long time that night until he finally makes a decision that is the only one
he can live with.

"Baby, wake up, I'm back," Jeongguk whispers in Jimin's ear.

"Mm," he just grumbles, not ready to wake up yet.

"Jimin, wake up," the alpha laughs, gently patting his head.

Reluctantly, the omega opens his eyes and looks at Jeongguk, the man he's come to care so
much about and is about to break his heart.

"Hey, what's wrong? Your eyes are all red," the alpha says worriedly.

"We need to talk," Jimin sighs, sitting up.

"Okay?" Jeongguk tilts his head and sits down next to Jimin.

"Before I start, I want you to know how grateful I am to you and how much this all means to
me. You make me feel so comfortable and you've become incredibly important to me."

"Jimin, what's wrong?" asks Jeongguk with his eyebrows drawn together. "You're scaring
me..."

"Sorry," the omega mutters, taking Jeongguk's hands in his. "I talked to my mother yesterday,
and...our pack will return to the forest next week, and will live together with Tae's pack from
now on."

"Oh...but that's good news, right?" Jeongguk asks, but Jimin can see exactly how his heart
breaks and he holds back his tears.

"Yeah sure, but we both know what it means too. You know how much the pack and our life
in the forest mean to me, just as I know how important your life here is to you. I really wish
we had had more time together, including more time to figure out how to make this work,
whatever it even is. Please believe me that this was not an easy decision and I thought about
it for a long time yesterday, in the end I decided to go with my pack."

"Jimin," Jeongguk breathes with tears in his eyes.

"This doesn't directly mean the end for us, okay?" Jimin smiles sadly, trying to reassure the
alpha. "The pack and my family need me right now, and I need time to think. I need some
distance to figure out if I can imagine a life here with you."

"But, what if I come with you?"

"Jeongguk," Jimin sighs, "You belong here, where you can save people's lives and live your
dream. I would never ask you to give that up, nor could I live knowing what you sacrificed
for me. This won't be a goodbye forever, even if I decide to stay with the pack in the end, in
some way you will always be a part of my life."

Jimin himself can't hold back now either and starts to cry. He hugs Jeongguk and they both
hold each other tightly, knowing that they will only have a little time left together.

"We have one more week and until then, I want to be with you as much as I can," Jimin
whispers.

"So do I. Just promise me you'll take care of yourself and we'll hear from you from time to
time," Jeongguk sobs, pressing Jimin against him as tightly as he can.

"I promise," the omega smiles.

The time without Jeongguk will surely be hard, but he needs the distance to get some clarity.
That way he can make sure his family and the pack are okay, and can help them build a new
life with Taehyung's pack. And if he chooses Jeongguk in the end, he knows it wasn't a hasty
decision.

Being able to enjoy the remaining time together is not easy when you know how little it
actually is.
Jimin and Jeongguk do their best not to let it affect them too much, but just the fact that the
alpha is at work for several hours every day and Jimin is overcome by his thoughts and
feelings during that time makes it almost unbearable. His only distraction is helping his
family and the pack get everything ready and seeing Taehyung as often as possible.

The day before they leave is the worst. Jimin, after Jeongguk left for work in the morning,
has spent the entire morning lying in bed thinking about what their future might look like. He
wishes there was another way, and even though Jimin knows his family would never make
him do it, he has to follow them into the forest. They've been apart long enough and he needs
to be able to make sure they're okay. Especially since he needs time to figure out if he can
imagine a permanent life in the city. No matter how much Jeongguk means to him, a life here
would change everything and he needs to figure out if he's ready for that.

"Baby, I'm going to miss you so much," Jeongguk murmurs as they lie in bed that evening,
trying to enjoy the last few hours they have together.

"I will miss you too," Jimin suppresses the tears. "Kiss me, please," he asks, looking
pleadingly at Jeongguk. He doesn't want to waste their time with talking, everything that
needs to be said has already been said and he wants to show the alpha how much he means to

Jeongguk doesn't hesitate another moment and kisses him lovingly. But Jimin wants more, it's
their last night together.

"So, I will accompany you to my parents' pack and stay there until Friday. The others from
your pack will be taken there during the next few days as well." explains Taehyung.

"Okay. Will you contact us once you arrive?" Jeongguk asks, handing Jimin's bag to the other
omega.

"Of course. I'll keep you updated," he smiles. "I'll leave you two alone for now and get the
stuff downstairs already. Take as much time as you need," he adds.

Jimin watches after him until he closes the door behind him, then looks to Jeongguk.

The alpha walks up to him and pulls him into his arms. "I understand why you have to do this
and I know it's the right thing to do, but even if you decide against me, against living here, I
want you to know that I'll always be here for you!"

"I know and the same goes for you," Jimin returns the hug. "And thank you for everything
you've done for me, it means so so much to me. I'll miss you..." sobs Jimin softly.
"I'll miss you too, but please enjoy the time with your family and the pack, promise?" asks
Jeongguk, loosening up a bit to be able to take Jimin's face in his hands. "I'll be fine here,
okay?"

"Okay," Jimin nods, looking deep into his eyes.

Jeongguk leans down and kisses Jimin with more feeling than he's ever had before, as if he's
saying what he couldn't say last night with this kiss.

"Take care of yourself. And whatever you decide, I'll be here waiting for your answer."

"I will. I promise I'll let you know as soon as I decide," Jimin speaks against his lips, kissing
him one last time before finally breaking away from Jeongguk.

"See you," is all he says, and then slowly walks to the door.

"See you," Jeongguk smiles sadly.

Jimin stops at the door once more, looks at Jeongguk, and then leaves.

Saying goodbye has never hurt so much, but he knows it's the right decision.

Besides, he won't be alone. Taehyung is still with him, at least for the next few days, and he'll
give the pack a satellite phone so they can keep in touch. He just hopes that Jeongguk won't
suffer too much and that if he decides to come back, he will still be waiting for him.

The first three weeks after Jimin left are the worst for Jeongguk, especially because his
apartment still smells so strongly of the Omega. Every time he gets home, he can't stop
himself from crying, his heart feeling like someone ripped it out if hid chest. The first few
nights he can't even manage to sleep in his bed, so he spends them on the sofa. Every

He never thought that being alone again would be so hard, but his wolf keeps wanting him to
look for the Omega and leave the life in the city to be with him. He didn't think it would be
possible to fall in love with someone in such a short time, but it happened. The two have only
had a few weeks in which they could really discover and act out their feelings for each other,
but that was enough for Jeongguk's inner wolf to decide that Jimin is the right partner for
them. The alpha knows he has to give Jimin the distance and he probably needs it himself. It's
a kind of test to also find out if their feelings for each other are strong enough, if they really
belong together.

Taehyung keeps Jeongguk informed, reports to him regularly about how Jimin and the pack
are doing, but the alpha himself doesn't talk to him.

The only thing that keeps him from following Jimin into the forest at the moment is his work
and his friends.

They regularly try to spend time with him and distract him as much as they can.

His cousin Namjoon is also a huge help, coming over in the middle of the night one day in
November when it's really bad.

Jeongguk opens the door to him crying and falls into his arms.

"Joonie, I don't know what to do anymore. Why does it hurt so much?" he sobs.

him into the living room, where they sit down on the couch.

case that he had to let Jimin go, your wolf can't accept that," his cousin explains.

"I know," Jeongguk sobs again, clinging to Namjoon. "But it feels like someone ripped my
heart out, even though Jimin never said he was leaving for ever."

"I'm sure that even if Jimin decides against you, he'll remain a part of your life in some way,
after all, you were friends before all of this. But Jeongguk, we can't control our feelings, let
alone our wolf when it comes to things like love."

"It's just, Joonie, I've never met anyone like him," he says, looking at Namjoon. "All those
years I couldn't find a partner because no one could handle how much I work. Or my ex-
boyfriend, who said I wasn't strong enough for him, who wanted an alpha that wasn't so
sensitive. But Jimin, he takes me as I am. Heck, he spent hours watching my favorite movies
with me, was interested in my other interests as well, and was always there for me. With him,
for the first time, I felt like I could be myself without the pressure of living up to any
expectations of being an alpha."

"I understand," Namjoon sighs. "I've only met him once, but Jimin seems like a really
amazing person."

"He is," Jeongguk agrees with tears in his eyes, smiling gently. "But what if he finds someone
better, someone who prefers to live in the forest?"

"Jeongguk no, don't even think about it!" says Namjoon, looking at him with a serious
expression. "This isn't about Jimin not wanting you because you prefer a life here, this is
about him finding out if he's ready to take the step and live here permanently. His family and
he have been going through hell the last few months, but I've seen the way he looks at you.
For Tae, his time here in the beginning wasn't easy either and we know how many times he
thought about going back. Just give Jimin some time, okay? Of course, it's possible that he'll
stay in the forest, but I think that if he feels the same way as you do, he'll come back."

"I hope so..." sighs Jeongguk sadly.

He would never pressure the omega or expect him to give up everything for him, yet the
alpha can hope that he will come back to him. In case it doesn't, it would definitely break
Jeongguk's heart again, but he would accept Jimin's decision.

In December, Jeongguk still hasn't heard from Jimin and is slowly losing hope that he will
ever come back. Taehyung does keep telling him that Jimin will surely get back to him soon
or at least contact him to give him an answer, but maybe it's the Christmas season that makes
everything worse.

Normally, it should be the time of year to spend more time with your loved ones, but
Jeongguk's favorite person is not with him.

Therefore, the alpha goes to his mother's house in busan for the weekend, simply to find
distraction, but also because he needs her advice. She is the one who knows her son best and
whom Jeongguk trusts the most.

On Saturday night, her mate is out with friends, which is why the alpha finally has time alone

"Jeongguk, what's going on? You've barely smiled since you got here, and I've never seen
you so down?" she asks as she joins him on the sofa, a cup of tea in her hand.

"Well, something happened," sighs Jeongguk, who hasn't told his mother about Jimin until
today. "There was a patient at our hospital a few months ago," he begins, then tells her the
whole story of how Jimin moved in with him, they became friends, and he ended up falling in
love with the omega.
"Oh wow...Jeongguk why didn't I know about this?!" his mother asks and puts her tea down.

"I don't know, we were just friends for a long time and then everything happened so fast.
Sorry, Mum," he replies with an apologetic smile.

"It's okay," she laughs. "So, if I understand correctly, Jimin is with his pack at the moment
and you're hoping he'll choose you in the end?"

"Exactly," the alpha nods. "I mean, I'd understand if he stayed with them, but...Mum he's just
perfect, I've never met anyone like him. He's intelligent, funny, open-minded, understanding
and caring."

"Mm, I understand. I know how hard it is to find a partner when you have a job like ours.
Long hours of work, few days off, it's hard to have a relationship and you saw how long it
took me to find someone. But Jeongguk, believe me, even if it doesn't work out with Jimin,
you'll find someone!"

"But I already have," Jeongguk sighs. "Jimin is all I've been looking for, and I don't know if I
could ever get involved with anyone else. If you knew him, you'd understand what I mean."

else either if Jonghyun ever left me," his mother agrees with him.

"I just don't understand how this could happen, we've only known each other for a few
months."

"You know, there are rare cases when our wolves imprint on someone else when they know
that is the one perfect person. These days it doesn't happen that often anymore, but I think
that's what happened with you. Your wolf has accepted Jimin as the ideal mate and can't live
with the thought that you may never see him again. The same thing happened to your

fallen in love with him, the bond between them was so strong that they could never have

"Mom," Jeonnguk says softly. "But then what do I do if he really doesn't come back?"

"Jeonggukie, listen, if that's really the case, Jimin will come back, I promise you. You just
need to be patient and give him the time he needs."

"But that's the hardest part," the alpha sighs.

"I know, but everything will be fine. If Jimin doesn't come back, then he wasn't the right one
and I'm sure you'll eventually meet someone with whom it works," his mother smiles
encouragingly.

But that's exactly the problem for Jeongguk, neither his head nor his heart can imagine that
there will ever be someone other than Jimin he can love so much. In the end, though, his
mother is right; he must continue to wait and hope that the omega will eventually be ready to

Jeongguk struggles out of bed, putting on a loose shirt and his sweatpants before heading to
the kitchen to make himself some coffee. Although Taehyung promised to come over in the
afternoon and help Jeongguk to finally decorate his apartment, the alpha had no motivation to
do so before, but he should still clean up a bit and get the decorations out of his closet
beforehand.

He looks at his phone while the coffee machine is running when suddenly the doorbell rings.
"Damn Tae, it's too early," he grumbles as he walks to the door.

When he opens it, however, it's not Taehyung standing in front of him.

"Merry Christmas," the latter smiles shyly.

"What in the...Jimin!" is the only thing the alpha can get out before pulling Jimin into his

you, after today, I will never leave you again."

Jeongguk bursts into tears in the middle of the hallway while finally holding the man who
means so much to him again in his arms.

"Baby, everything is fine. Come on, let's go inside for," Jimin tries to calm him down.

Once the door is closed behind them, Jeongguk just stands there again, staring at him. He still
can't quite believe that Jimin is actually here.

"I know you probably have a lot of questions, and I'll answer them all for you. But my
question is, do you still want me, even after we've been apart for so long?"

"Of course!" answers Jeongguk immediately, taking a step forward to take Jimin's face in his
hands. He gently caresses his cheek and looks deeply into the omega's eyes. "Yes, I still want
you, more than ever! My feelings for you haven't changed."

"Jeongguk," Jimin whispers, and now a few tears flow down his cheeks as well. "My
Jeongguk."

The alpha doesn't waste another second and presses his lips to Jimin's. It feels like fireworks
are erupting inside him and like he can finally breathe properly again. To finally have Jimin's

that he has a bunch of money that makes the whole thing even possible," he adds with a

"Yeah, he's really well-known. And I'm so happy that you found a solution that makes you
happy. Somewhere I was also afraid that you'd come back just for me and I'd be the reason
you'd have to leave your family, but knowing that there's another reason why you're here and
that there's a way to always be in touch with your parents and your sister, your pack in
general, kind of reassures me." the alpha admits.

"My family would have understood if I had come here for you, believe me. But they were
also excited about my idea and are looking forward to being able to help with it."

"Besides, we can visit them as often as we can or they can visit us," Jeongguk says.

"Yeah that anyway. But my place is here with you, with the man I love and who stood by me
during the worst time of my life."

The three of them finally start decorating Jeongguk's apartment and when Seokjin joins them
to help with dinner, he can hardly believe his eyes when Jimin is standing in the kitchen.

Their other friends don't react any differently when they see Jimin again, but are happy for
the couple.

Everyone is excited about Jimin's and Taehyung's idea and immediately offer to help,
especially Namjoon who directly suggests getting his students involved in the project so they
have more help.

Throughout the evening, Jimin doesn't leave Jeongguk's side, now that he's finally back with
his alpha and there’s a future for them together.

A few months ago, Jimin never thought he would ever be this happy. Being separated from
his family and the pack was the worst thing he has experienced , but in the end everyone
survived and Jimin additionally found the love of his life.

The omega had a hard time during the year before finding an alpha, and at some point he
accepted the fact that it may never happen, but then Jeongguk came along. A man that can
protect him and always takes care of him, but also isn't afraid to show his emotions. He isn't
like the alphas Jimin met before, and maybe that's why it never worked out with one of his
exes. They weren't bad people, but just not Jeongguk. Every time the alpha gives him a kiss
or hug, Jimin feels completely safe and as if they can do anything, as long as they're together.
Jimim also found amazing new friends and of course Taehyung, someone he trusts with his
life and now considers his best friend.
 It will take him some time to fully adjust to life here, but as long as he is by Jeongguk's side
and has that wonderful alpha, he knows everything will be okay

I had a lot more things planned for the story but just didn't enough time to write :(
But maybe i'll make a series out of this and write a bit more about Jikook's journey.
