I. MATTER INVESTIGATED

1. This refers to your reques to conduct a Background Investigation on Tanza,


Cavite to report as your Project in Fundamentals of Investigation and
Intelligence.
2. This was assigned to me to collect and investigate on Tanza, Cavite.
II. FACTS GATHERED
3. Tanza, formally the Municipality of Tanza (Bayan ng Tanza), was originally
known as Santa Cruz de Malabón and is a first-class highly urbanized
municipality in the Philippines' province of Cavite.
4. Tanza, along with Silang, is one of two towns in Cavite that have met the
conditions to become a new city in the province, although no measures have
been introduced in Congress. Tanza, Cavite, has a population of 312,116
people according to the 2020 census, with a population density of 3,300
people per square kilometer or 8,500 people per square mile.
5. It’s having 41 barangay’s in the town of Tanza. Tanza is the location where
Emilio Aguinaldo took the oath of office as President of the Philippines' rebel
government. Felipe G. Calderon, the author of the Malolos Constitution, was
born in this town as well.
6. This Located to the in the Northwestern part of Cavite lying within latitudes
140 24’ north and longitude 120° 51’ east. It is bounded by the Municipality of
Rosario to the North; the General Trias City to the east; by Trece Martires City
and the Municipality of Naic to the south; and the Manila Bay on the west.
7. Florentino Joya, the Cavite congressman in the Philippine Assembly at the
time, advocated for the passage of a bill in 1914 that renamed Sta. Cruz de
Malabon was ceded to Tanza via Philippine Legislative Act No. 2390, enacted
on February 28, 1914. Tanza celebrated Araw ng Tanza's 100th anniversary on
February 28, 2014, with a procession of Higante figures through the town
center, a fireworks display, and an evening Lantern festival.
8. Tanza was originally a plot of land attached to the municipality of San
Francisco de Malabon, which is now known as General Trias. The Fabian
brothers were the first to arrive here. This particular grazing pasture was known
as an estancia (1780).
9. The majority of Tanzans are Roman Catholics, but other religions such as
Iglesia ni Cristo, Baptist, Seventh-day Adventist, Jehovah's Witnesses, MCGI
and Mormonism, Islam, and others have risen quickly.
