1.This question paper contains 38 questions.
2.This Question Paper is divided into 5 Sections A, B, C, D and E.
3.In Section A, Questions no. 1-18 are multiple choice questions (MCQs) and questions no. 19
and 20 are Assertion- Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
4.In Section B, Questions no. 21-25 are very short answer (VSA) type questions, carrying 02
marks each.
5.In Section C, Questions no. 26-31 are short answer (SA) type questions, carrying 03 marks
each.
6.In Section D, Questions no. 32-35 are long answer (LA) type questions, carrying 05 marks
each.
7.In Section E, Questions no. 36-38 are case study based questions carrying 4 marks each with
sub parts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
8.All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2 Questions of section B, 2
Questions of section C and 2 Questions of section D has been provided. And internal choice
has been provided in all the 2 marks questions of Section E.
9.Draw neat and clean figures wherever required.
10.Take π =22/7 wherever required if not stated.
11.Use of calculators is not allowed.

more, it would have taken 1 hour less for the same journey. Find the speed
of the train.

34 In a circle of radius 21 cm, an arc subtends an angle of 60° at the centre. 5

(i) the length of the arc
(ii) area of the sector formed by the arc

35 (a) The angle of elevation of the top of a tower 30 m high from the foot 5
of another tower in the same plane is 600 and the angle of elevation of the

top of the second tower from the foot of the first tower is 300 . Find the
distance between the two towers and also the height of the other tower.

(b) From the top of a tower 100 m high, a man observes two cars on the
opposite sides of the tower with angles of depression 300 and 450
respectively. Find the distance between the two cars.(Use √3 = 1·73)
SECTION E
36 Computer-based learning (CBL) refers to any teaching methodology that
makes use of computers for information transmission. At an elementary
school level, computer applications can be used to display multimedia
lesson plans. A survey was done on 1000 elementary and secondary
schools of Assam and they were classified by the number of computers
they had.

37 Maximum Profit : An automobile manufacturer can produce up to 300
cars per day. The profit made from the sale of these vehicles can be
modelled by the function P(x) =− x2 + 350x − 6600 where P(x) is the
profit in thousand Rupees and x is the number of automobiles made and
sold. Answer the following questions based on this model:

38 Silo : A silo is a structure for storing bulk materials. Silos are used in
agriculture to store grain or fermented feed known as silage. Silos are
commonly used for bulk storage of grain, coal, cement, carbon black,
woodchips, food products and sawdust.

A silo is in the shape of cylinder surmounted by a conical top. The height


and diameter of cylindrical part are 40 feet and 42 feet respectively and
the slant height of conical part is 29 feet.
