Welcome to the world of web development! Today, we will work together in groups
to learn about websites, their purpose, and how they are created. Don’t worry—you
don’t need any prior knowledge about web development or HTML to participate.

Instructions:
Form Groups: Your instructor will divide you into small groups of 3 members. Each
group will work on a specific type of website.
Assigned Website Type: Your group will be assigned one of the following types of
websites:
o Discuss with your group the purpose of your assigned website type.
o Answer these questions together:
o Use a blank sheet of paper to sketch the layout of your website’s homepage.
o Include the following elements in your design:
Header: Think about what should go at the top of the page (e.g., a title or
logo).
Main Content Area: Add sections for text, images, or videos.
Footer: What information belongs at the bottom of the page? (e.g., contact
info or links)
o Label each section and describe its purpose (e.g., “This section will have a picture of
a shopping cart for the e-commerce site”).
o Discuss as a group: What tools would you use to turn your design into a real
website?
