Hello, today we are going to unravel all there is to know about
technology.

We are going to address all sorts of facts about technology, which will be
found throughout the slides of this presentation.
INTRODUCTION
In this presentation we are going to explore the pro’s and con’s of
technology. We will also concisely explore the evolution of technology
until today.
first technology - The earliest forms of Technology
For millions of years humans have been found inventing all kinds of
technology. Nearly 2 million years ago, by chipping away stones to make
shapes, humans were able to make the first axes, knives, etc.. Skipping
a head a couple million years, in 1876, marks the date that Alexander
Graham Bell officially patented his version of an "electric telegraph".

Ages of Technology
There have been many eras and ages of technology but there are 4
principal ages such as: The Pre Mechanical Age between the years
3000 BC and 1450 AD, The Mechanical Age between the years 1450
and 1840, The electromechanical age between the years 1840 and
1940; The electronic age between the years 1940 till the Present.

Impacts of technology
How did technology change society?
Access to energy, electricity, sanitation, and clean water have
transformed the lives of billions. Transport, telephones, and the internet
have allowed us to collaborate on problems at a global level.

Modern technology refers to the collection of innovative tools, systems,
devices, and techniques that have been developed or improved upon in
recent times to facilitate and enhance various aspects of human life

How is modern technology used today?


Modern technology boosts productivity as well as the efficiency of
human activities, as it allows us to perform tasks in less time.
Meanwhile, thanks to the huge amount of information available, better
decisions can be made, and human error reduced.
Problems of technology- The negative impact of technology
There exists many problems related to technology such as :
Addiction, In recent years, many people have developed problems with
technology. Health problems, Prolonged use of technology, particularly
screens, has been linked to various health issues. Eye strain, disrupted
sleep patterns, and even mental health problems can arise from
excessive screen time. Social disconnection, Paradoxically, while
technology promises enhanced connectivity, it can also contribute to a
sense of social disconnection.
Misinformation, Modern technologies have the capacity to instantly
share information on a global basis. This has become a medium of
misinformation. Shrinking job opportunities, As digital technology
advances, the job market is beginning to shrink, which can have
devastating consequences for individuals and their families.
Cybercrime, Technology has also allowed for individuals to carry out the
act of committing crimes right from their homes under anonymity.
Youth and technology
Several studies have found a correlation between social media and
suicide, and researchers have linked aspects of social media use to
depression and higher suicide risk.
Statistics
In this graf we can analyse that depression, self poisoning and suicide
increased drastically after 2011, a few years after social media taking off.
20%- Nearly 20% of high school students, reported serious thoughts of
suicide
9%- 9% individuals of the global population suffer from eating disorders,
but bare in mind that 80% of eating disorders go undetected.
62%- Youth suicides rose 62% from 2007 to 2021.
95%- 95% of teens use social media.

Benefits of technology-
Technology has numerous benefits such as: Improved
communication, Technology has introduced new ways of
communicating, such as:
● email;
● instant messaging;
● video conferencing;

These methods have made communication faster and more convenient.


Improved health care
Technology has improved diagnostics in every way—from accuracy, to
speed, to accessibility. Diagnostic technology plays a key role in
addressing one of the biggest issues in healthcare: chronic illness.
Illnesses like heart disease and diabetes are prevalent worldwide, but
technology can help reduce their severity.
Transport
The integration of autonomous driving, connected vehicles,
electrification, ride-sharing, and mass-transit systems is pivotal for
creating a sustainable and efficient urban transportation landscape.
Zero-emission vehicles, in particular, play a crucial role in fostering
environmentally friendly mobility solutions
Access to global information
The internet, often hailed as the pinnacle of technological advancement,
has democratized information access.
Cost efficient
One of the main goals of technology includes making things cheaper
and more affordable for people.
Increased productivity
Time management has been optimized, and the efforts put into every-
day tasks have been lightened.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, technology has changed the world and societies. Although
there are some negative consequences, for the most part it changed things
favorably.
