I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the learner will be able to:
a. identify the different usage of demonstrative pronouns
b. ppreciate the importance of using demonstrative pronouns in our daily lives through
active participation of the students.

Say present when I call your name.

4. Review
What was our lesson in our last discussion? It is all about different sources of
information.
Very good!

Can you give me an example of information sources that is Books, newspapers, pictures, signages
where you got your information? and computers Ma’am.

Very good! All your answers are correct.

B. MOTIVATION/CONDITIONING ACTIVITIES
Today, let us read the short conversation of two person.
I will group you into two. The group 1 is the boys and
the girls are the group 2. All you have to do is read the
conversation of two people. The group one will read the
man says. The group 2 will read the girls in the short
conversation.

BEN: Is this your book?


RHEA: Yes, that is my book.
BEN: I like these pencils.
RHEA: I like those too.
BEN: Whose pencils are these?
RHEA: I am not sure.

C. PRESENTATION OF THE LESSON


What have you noticed to the activity we did? Ma’am, in the short conversation, the word
this, that, these, those are underlined.
Correct. Based on the activity we did, our topic is all
about Demonstrative Pronoun.
D. DISCUSSION/LESSON PROPER
Demonstrative Pronoun points out someone or something.
The demonstrative pronouns are this, that, these, and those.
Demonstrative pronouns indicate whether the noun is near or
far from the speaker pointing it.
The “this” and “that” are singular forms of demonstrative
pronouns.

We use “THIS” when we speak of something that is near to us.


Example: This is a blackboard.

Very good! Next is “THAT” we use “THAT” when we speak of


something that is far from us.
Example: That is a wall fan.

While the “these” and “those” are plural forms of demonstrative


pronouns.

Let’s proceed to “THESE”. We use “THESE” when we speak of


many things that are near us.
Example: These are my instructional materials.

Lastly, we have “THOSE”. We use “THOSE” when we speak of


many things that are far from us.
Example: Those are boxes.
"This" and "that" are singular (one)."These" and
"those" are plural (more than one).

F. APPLICATION
We're going to play a game called “Pass the Box” all you have
to do is to pass this box to your classmates and when the
music stops, the one who holds the box will pick a paper inside
the box and create a sentence based on what is written on the
paper.

G. GENERALIZATION
So class, what is Demonstrative pronouns? Demonstrative pronouns points out

What are the example of demonstrative pronouns? Ma’am this, that, those and these.

H. EVALUATION
Directions: Choose an appropriate demonstrative pronoun to
complete each sentence.
