D3 Alkebulan - Open if link doesn’t work

The project faced challenges due to time constraints and personal difficulties, but the author believes they learned valuable lessons about design and time management. They recognize areas for improvement, particularly in research, detail, and material choices, which could enhance the final product. Ultimately, the author emphasizes the importance of learning from experiences and taking risks to achieve better outcomes in future projects.

Second Chance & Improvement For Solution

This project, similar to the one performed previously in design class, has been a
consistent struggle against time, due to the higher quantities of impediments as well as
predicaments such as the fact that I had a cast for the vast majority of the project, thus becoming
one of the biggest challenges this year. Even with all of its requirements and process, I managed
to push through. Throughout the whole project, I did try to perform at my best, but I felt that I
could’ve done better, by getting deeper with the research and effort. I truly think I did a good
job, but I know myself better than any other, and I also know that that wasn’t my full potential.
I assume that this unit will serve as a great "push" for future success, meaning that what
we've learned over the last month can be applied to each student's near future. It takes a
significant amount of time and effort to become a designer, but you must also consider the true
value of the design cycle. The design cycle may appear to be nothing more than a tool that offers
direction to the designer who uses it, but it is much more than that; it assists you in developing
and evaluating solutions to design problems. I believe that the design cycle was responsible for a
large part of my success. Apart from the fact that I used it for the entirety of the project, it
assisted me in organizing myself and my time, which is the most important thing or presence in
the universe. After several days of design classwork, I believe that not only this project, but also
the teacher, has aided me in becoming a better designer as well as an organizer. You see, taking
into consideration that we students are placed at the near ends of the first semester, many
projects, tests, and other school-based tasks start to arise. These increased my stress levels “to the
roof” thus altering my sleep schedule as well as other aspects of my life. Like probably any
reasonable person would do, I prioritized certain classes over others, mainly dependent on the
project's deadline. Taking into consideration how extended this project’s deadline was, I favored
other classes to such an extent that I worked on homework or projects in the design period. The
teacher, comprehending my struggle, actually supported my action, which at the end of the day
permitted a fascinating organization of time for everything except design. Being up-to-date with
all classes proved me with the sufficient amount of time to work on the design and finish the
project with sufficient time and success. I once learned from a wise man that kids my age are
incredibly wealthy, and if you're wondering why to allow me to elaborate. We kids have time,
which no person, not even Elon Musk or Bill Gates, the world's wealthiest people at the moment,
can afford. Everybody has the potential to become a designer, but you only achieve it, once you
figure out your potential.
From this project, I would’ve only changed one thing and improved the rest. The only
thing I'd like to improve is how I handle my time. When I was working on the C2 task, or the
product development stage, I realized that I wasn't managing my time properly, which meant that
I had to extend my already set due date by over five days. The time when it’s being misused, it’s
being wasted, which is basically what happened to me at first. I used much of my time for my
entertainment and pleasure, but it cost me a lot in the end. There are some things I would have
changed, one of which is the effort I put forward, as I mentioned earlier. I did care about the
project, and I also did put out all of my efforts, but if I would’ve applied more research, time,
and knowledge to it, I do feel I could’ve done better.
To wrap this all up, if I had the opportunity to do this project again, I probably wouldn’t
have taken the opportunity, just as mentioned in the previous D3. In life, the majority of the time
you don't have second chances, meaning that you have to learn from your past experiences.
Instead, I'd add what I've learned so far to upcoming ventures that will provide me with more
opportunities than this one could. If by any chance I had chosen the other option, which would
be to redo the project, I would have focused more on researching the topic, instead of focusing
on the actual homework. When I receive homework, I feel the urge to finish it quickly, which got
the best of me in this project, which meant that I couldn’t perform to the best of my ability. In the
end, it turned out to be detrimental, and it didn’t elucidate to the best of my abilities.
By taking into consideration all previous strands I did cover all reasoning and evidence
for success, making the work at a high level. There were some strands better than others, but
overall, they were really good. As I mentioned previously, the biggest problem I had when
creating the physical version of my commodity was time, reflected on strand C1, in which I
would’ve made some drastic changes and other forms of measurement to see the best way in
which I could manage my time, to achieve the best result in the given period. Apart from time,
there were other things that I would improve, starting with detailed appliances. When creating
the project, I realized that the amount of detail applied was decent enough, leading to these
uncertainties or confusions, which could potentially affect how others view my commodity. The
best example of this could be the light-emitting diodes placed within the commodity, which, due
to their small girth and lengthy size, detail appliance was very complex, which I referenced
within the survey to understand the impact that these were causing. To improve this aspect, I
would’ve utilized the scooping tools to apply some general detail towards the yellow and black
strands of clay to at least make them look like what they are intended to be.
Then for the solar panels, I could’ve added some sort of indicator/details to make it seem
like a solar panel. Transparent solar panels are very hard to distinguish from glass, which will
confuse. Finding a way to specify the component would’ve been extremely beneficial to the
commodity, therefore implying the sustainability and non-liable the product was. Another factor
that could’ve been improved through the creation of both the digital and physical versions of this
model would’ve been the colors implemented. Taking into consideration some of the survey
answers, I discovered that the colors utilized in the making of this were “ok” and not the best fit
for the product. To fix this, I feel that I could’ve searched up some of the best fitting colors for
each component that was implemented within the commodity, while also attempting to match
their requisite (cool colors to affect mood as well as to reflect thermostatic energy). Another
aspect that I would’ve changed to improve the final product could’ve been the amount of
“Divisors” and prescription containers used. After taking a look at some reviews of them, the
majority of the component’s functionalities are clear, while others are not. The reason for this
unclarity is mainly because of the colors and lack of detail applied. To improve this, I could
apply a higher amount of detail and different colors, as well as to make various of these products
while placing them in their corresponding locations to see their success in the aspect of
functionality and aesthetics. Lastly, I would’ve utilized other materials to make the product
better. Some recyclable materials could’ve worked perfectly for my model, but instead, I went
with the safe route and used some of the materials that everyone already uses for their models. I
didn’t take a risk, and that's why I’m not happy with my final result. In life, to be outstanding, or
simply to avoid being like everyone else, you have to take risks. Risk-taking is a huge part of
success, and without it, you’ll just be normal. In other words, the use of other materials would
heavily enhance the final presentation of my model, both making it look aesthetically better and
understandable. The majority of my changes are based on aesthetics, understanding, and
functionality, and once I focus on them, and improve flaws related to those, I will have a better
final product than the one before.
