Generic E-Mail Account settings for (IMAP)

Incoming Mail Server (IMAP) imap.gmail.com


Requires SSL: Use SSL: Yes
Port: 993
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) smtp.gmail.com
Requires TLS: Use Authentication: Yes
USE STARTTLS: YES (SSL on some clients)
Port: 465 (for SSL) or 587 (for TLS)
Account Name: Use your full email address.
([email protected])
E-Mail Address: Use your full email address
(your [email protected])
Password: Your mymctc.net password

If your e-mail client does not support SMTP authentication, you will not be able to send mail
through your client using you mymctc.net address.

Also, if you’re having trouble sending mail but you’ve confirmed that encryption is active for
SMTP in your mail client, try to configure your STMP server to use a different port: 465 or 587.

Email going to the old Winco account will first be filtered through Graymail, then it is set to the
Winco Inbox. From there, the email is forwarded to MyMCTC Postini and filtered a second
time, then sent to the MyMCTC Inbox. This is through the transition period, eventually
Graymail will be turned off and Postini will be the only Spam Filter.

IE8 and IE9 have some compatibility issues with the webmail and some features may not
function properly when using Webmail. To turn off compatibility view, go to Tools,
Compatibility View Settings and remove the gmail and mymctc sites by clicking on the name
and clicking remove.

Unless you’re using recent mode to download mail to multiple clients, make sure you have
opted not to leave messages on the server. Your POP settings in Gmail settings are what will
determine whether or not messages stay on the server, so this setting in your client won’t
affect how Gmail handles your mail.

If your client does not support SMTP authentication, you won’t be able to send mail through
your client using your otelmail.com address.

If you are using more than one e-mail client, (different computers or smart phones) you need to
set your e-mail clients to use IMAP. See our document online for IMAP settings.
