Viability

Viability refers to the probability of successfully carrying out a project, plan, or mission. There are several types of viability that must be considered, such as political, economic, environmental, social, technical, technological, and management viability. Each type of viability evaluates specific factors such as the approval of involved stakeholders, financial costs and benefits, environmental and social impact, technical and technological feasibility, and the

VIABILITY

Definition
Viability is a concept that takes on particular relevance when it
comes to carrying out a project, plan or mission, because it
refers precisely to the probability that exists of carrying out
what is intended or planned, of actually carrying it out, that is,
when something is viable it is because it will almost certainly be
able to be brought to a successful conclusion.

On the other hand, when something does not have that

characteristic, it can hardly be achieved.
POLITICAL
VIABILITY
You must prepare the information to
adapt it to the requirements of each of
the agents involved in the decision to
approve or reject the project:
management, the partner owners, the
different members
ECONOMIC VIABILITY
must determine the magnitude of the net
benefits of the project, by comparing its
projected costs and benefits. Just because a
project shows an unprofitable result does not
mean it should be rejected. Other
considerations (humanitarian, strategic, ethical
or political)
Environmental Viability
Environmental feasibility studies consider the integration
of the objectives of each project with the quality of the
environment and the well-being of communities. They are
carried out based on the ecological characteristics of each
site, the land use, the magnitude of the intervention, its
growth projections and the current legal requirements. For
this reason, the role of a professional environmental
consultant is essential to ensure the correct determination
of these variables for full approval.
social viability
Factors to measure the viability of a social
project. As already stated, the main objective of
a social project is the satisfaction of an unmet
need in the society, community or group of
inhabitants of a specific region. Any other
estimate would be outside its nature.
Technical feasibility
Condition that makes possible the operation of the system, project
or idea to which it refers, taking into account its technological
characteristics and the laws of nature involved.
Technical feasibility is analyzed for a specific requirement or idea
to determine whether it is possible to carry it out satisfactorily and
safely with the available technology, verifying various factors such
as structural resistance, durability, operability, energy implications,
control mechanisms, and organs so that it does not affect your
mental and physical health.
Technological feasibility
The technological feasibility study begins with a
technical definition of the proposed system,
answering the following questions: What
technologies are required to achieve the
functionality and performance of the system? What
new materials, methods or processes are required?
How will these technology elements affect the cost?
MANAGEMENT FEASIBILITY
must demonstrate that the managerial
capabilities exist to carry out the project
efficiently. If the economic feasibility study
shows notable deficiencies, this will cause
the project not to be carried out.
