ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT ON THE LAUNCHING OF PROJECT C.A.R.E.

I. Introduction:
Reading is necessary for learning, so instilling a love of reading at an early age is the key
that unlocks the door to lifelong learning. Children who value books are more motivated to
read on their own and will likely continue to hold that value for the rest of their lives. Instilling a
love of reading early gives a child a head start on expanding their vocabulary and building
independence and self-confidence. It helps children learn to make sense not only of the world
around them but also people, building social-emotional skills and of course, imagination.

Now, in support to DepEd’s MATATAG program, the Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao

Department initiates Project C.A.R.E (Compassionate Alliance of Reading Enthusiasts). It
is simultaneously launched in every school on 15th of November at the present year. This
programs aims to combat the perennial issue of slow readers, moreover of non-readers that
brought learning difficulties in all learning area. Assist learners who were left behind during the
pandemic especially those with reading difficulties will be given prior concern/attention.
Emphasize that teachers of Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao should not be a values teacher only
but also a reading teacher whose heart is always willing to help learners how to read and that
later on they may realize the importance of knowing how to read. Integrate EsP subject in the
reading program as it gives value and concern to learners who need special care.
