Subject: The summer course in UWA

Hi Sandy, A

Thanks for your email! B

I’m so excited you’re coming to Australia for a summer course! You’ll love it here—there’s so much
to see and do. I’m originally from Sydney, but I live in Perth now. Perth is a lively city on the west
coast, with plenty of shops, parks, and squares. When you arrive, we should explore the beaches
together, swim and even plan a trip to see the Great Barrier Reef! There are deserts in the centre of
Australia, but they aren’t as interesting. In the east there are some long, wide rivers, famous
beaches and there are mountains in the south. We can go there, too.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t make it to Hyde Park in London last time, but I really hope we can
explore all the beautiful sights together here in Australia!

UWA, the University of Western Australia here in Perth, is beautiful and a must-see! It is famous for
its beautiful campus by the Swan River. It is also one of the oldest universities in Australia. The
summer course, "Sustainable Development," lasts about four weeks. You have both lectures and
practical sessions, learning about environmental issues and solutions. Professors are very
knowledgeable and friendly. They share useful information and real-life examples. Plus, there are
fun activities like karaoke and disco nights—great for relaxing and making new friends.

There are also extra classes in subjects like Marine Biology, Photography, and more, so you have
plenty of options. I’m sure you enjoy it!

Can’t wait to see you! C
