3 - DLP - Graphical Analysis of Motion
3 - DLP - Graphical Analysis of Motion
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard Graphing motion provides more accurate predictions about speed and
velocity.
B. Performance Standard Employ scientific techniques, concepts, and models to investigate forces
and motion and represent their understanding using scientific language,
force diagrams, and distance-time graphs.
C. Learning Competency Describe uniform velocity and represent it using distance-time graphs.
D. Specific Objectives At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
Describe motion using a position-time graph;
Determine the x and y axis of a motion graph;
Plot points that show the motion of an object moving in a constant
and changing speed or velocity.

Class monitor, may I know who are None, Madam.
the absent for today?
Very good class.
The learners will give a recap about the
Reviewing previous lesson previous lesson
But before anything else, what was
the topic last meeting? Now, who
can summarize our previous
discussion?
Yes _________?
Motivational Activity
Arrange Me!
So, what is our topic for today class? GRAPHICAL ANALYSIS MOTION
Guide Question:
1. What do you need to know in
order to determine the motion
of a given object?
Guide question:
1. What can you say on the 1. Based on the illustration the
presented illustration? horizontal axis (x-axis)
2. How can you define Position- represents time, typically
Time Graph? measured in seconds. While the
vertical axis (y-axis) represents
the objects position, usually
measured in meters.
2. A Position-Time Graph is a
visual representation of an
object’s position as it changes
over time.
Very good!
Yes madam!
Is it clear to you class the 3 steps?
2. T h e g
3. T h e m o

Great job!
So, I want you to apply also the
formula of slope on the 3 scenario that
was given to you earlier.
Yes madam!
Is it clear class?
If the velocity is constant, the
Now who can give me the importance slope is constant (straight line)
of slope? If the velocity is changing, the
slope is changing (curved line)
If the velocity is positive, the
slope is positive (moving
upwards)
If the velocity is negative, the
slope is negative (moving
downwards)
F. EVALUATE Okay class, get ½ crosswise sheet of
paper.
Part 1: Color Motion
Direction: Analyze the graph to
answer the questions.
1. Green
2. Yellow
1. which line shows a slowing 3. Orange
down motion? (refer to its color) 4. Gray
2. what color shows a stationary
motion?
3. Which line manifests a constant
fast speed?
4. Which line shows a changing
speed that’s getting faster?
