XI EXPT 3

The objective of the experiment is to measure the internal diameter and depth of a beaker or calorimeter using vernier calipers to calculate its volume. The procedure involves determining the vernier constant, measuring internal dimensions, and applying the volume formula. Results will include the mean corrected diameter, depth, and the final volume of the beaker or calorimeter.

OBJECTIVE

To measure internal diameter and depth of a given beakerlealorimeter usine

vernier callipers and hence findits volume.
APPARATUS

Vernier callipers, a beaker or a calorimeter, magnifying glass.

THEORY
()For measuring internaldiameter and depth.Same as in Experiments 1 and 1.).
(ii) For volume
Volume of beaker or calorimeter = internal area of cross section x depth
or V-.d
where, D = internal diameter of beaker/calorimeter
d= depth of beaker/calorimeter.
