FortiClient VPN on Laptops and Desktops

STEP 1: Please download and install the VC Redistributables.


x64 (64-bit): vc_redist.x64.exe

STEP 2: Click the following link to download FortiClient VPN Installer file
(FortiClientVPNOnlineInstaller.exe) and FortiClient Configuration file(FortiClient
Configuration.conf) to your PC.

STEP 3: Install FortiClient VPN software using the file FortiClientVPNOnlineInstaller.exe as


instruction given below:

STEP 4: After installation, click the FortiClient VPN shortcut on desktop which will open
FortiClient VPN window. Tick I acknowledge and click on I accept button.

STEP 5: Click on Configure VPN link.

STEP 6: On the window opened, click Settings and press lock icon to enable the Restore button.

STEP 7: Click on Restore button

STEP 8: Select the downloaded FortiClient Configuration file (FortiClient Configuration.conf) and
click open

STEP 9: Click on OK button to apply the configuration.

STEP 10: Once the configuration is restored successfully, FortiClient VPN window opens up and
ask for Username and Password. Give your IIMK login credentials and click Connect. Once
connected minimize the window and start using IIMK intranet and library resources.

Android Phones
STEP 1: Download FortiClient VPN from Google Playstore

STEP 2: Input the VPN Name as “IIMK” , select IPsec VPN and click Create

STEP 3: Select Server settings

STEP 4: Select Servers

STEP 5: Add Server address: 14.139.189.34

STEP 6: Set Authorization method to Pre-Shared Key

STEP 7: Select Pre-Shared Key

STEP 8: Set Pre-Shared Key: iimk1234

STEP 10: Select IPsec XAuth setting

STEP 12: Click Go Back

MAC Machine Latest Versions
STEP 1: Open System Settings

Step 2: On Network tab click on options menu

Step 3: Select Cisco IPSec

STEP 4: Enter Server address as 14.139.189.34; Account name and Password is your IIMK
email credentials, Shared secret is iimk1234 and click on Create.

STEP 5: Once created, new VPN will show on the menu. Move the slide bar to ON position.

MAC Machine Old Versions

STEP 1: Open System Preferences

STEP 2: Click on Network

STEP 3: Press on + button which is marked in red circle [ bottom left ]

STEP 4: Select VPN from the interface list

STEP 5: Select VPN Type as Cisco IPSec, enter Service Name and press Create

STEP 6: Enter Server address as 14.139.189.34; Account Name and Password is your IIMK
email credentials, then click on Authentication Settings

STEP 7: Select Shared Secret and enter the key as iimk1234 and click on OK. Then click on
Connect

iPhone/iPad iOS devices

STEP 1: Go to Settings -> General -> VPN & Device Management.

STEP 2: Click on VPN

STEP 3: Click on Add VPN Configuration

STEP 4: Select Type as IPsec

STEP 5: Enter Description as IIMK, Server as 14.139.189.34; Account and Password is your
IIMK email credentials, Secret is iimk1234 and click on Done.

STEP 6: Move the VPN Status slide bar to right to connect.
